The War saw organised curling virtually brought to a halt. The Highland Railway ( whose new chairman was William Whitelaw and whose general manager was Robert Park, both members of Nairn Curling Club), continued to run the advertisement illustrated here.
The Aberdeen Glaciarium tried to attract custom before its premises were given over to building fighter planes.
1916
During the War years, the publication of the RCCC Annual was restricted to reporting the Club's business. Over these years many clubs were noted as having become defunct.
1917
The Nairnshire Telegraph of January 2nd reported curling at Achnatone on Christmas Day 1916.
1918
The War brought great sadness to many, none more so than to Nairn Curling Club's president, Wm Whitelaw. Between May 1917 and February 1919 he lost three sons, Robert, Geoffrey and William, all serving officers in the army. William and Robert had been Club members.
