The 1872-1873 'Annual' records Dyke as being one of the clubs awarded a Local Medal.

The difference between Local and District Medals is explained by this extract fro the rules at that time:-

What this meant was that Dyke were awarded a medal to be competed for amongst the membership by way of a "Points" competition.
