February 25th 1980 - Management Committee
A successful Dinner & Court had been held on Friday 1st February. The success was due to the hotel facilities, good speakers , good time-keeping and the efforts of Stan Johnstone and his team . There had been a display of old and modern Club photographs, and 83 had attended.
The manager and secretary of the Inverness Ice Centre (Colin Taylor and Liz Munro) had received leaving gifts of engraved watches from Moray, Inverness and Ross Provinces.
March 31st 1980 - AGM
The Financial Statement for the year was approved. There was £308.98 in ther reserve account and £122.81 in the General Account.
Graham Kerr, Match Secretary reported on an active season. Leven Cup was won for Nairn by two rinks skipped by E F Brown and L G Kerr. The Town v County match had been won by the County. Tom Hastie was runner-up in the Moray Province KO, and Alan Millar had won the Fochabers Bonspiel. The Annual Outing Trophy was won by I A Mackintosh.
The Annual Subscription was fixed at £3.
Ian A Mackintosh was elected President with David A Kerr as Vice-president. David Taylor was appointed Public Relations Officer.
September 16th 1980. - General Meeting
Since the March AGM the Club Points had been played and won by L G Kerr, with E F Brown as runner-up. Eric Brown had gone on to win the Province Points. President I Alistair Mackintosh had won the Ice Centre Closing Bonspiel, and Graham Kerr Had won the Haig Trophy.
The Annual Dinner & Court was booked for Friday February 6th In the Golf View and The RCCC Chaplain, The Rev. James G Thomson, Stranraer had agreed to attend.
The resignation of Dr J MacFadyen was accepted with regret.
Young Alan Millar was elected a skip and it was pointed out that he would have to change his two-seater car for a four seater!
Eric F Brown reported on the formation of Ness Bank Property Investments who would take over all rights to operate the Bught Park Ice Centre from the Reo Stakis Organisation from September 19th. Appointed to the board are two Nairn CC members, Eric F Brown and John G McGregor. Reo Stakis will retain ownership of the building.
November 4th 1980 - Management Commitee
The Rev James G Thomson, RCCC chaplain, had agreed to attend the 1981 Dinner & Court on Friday February 6th, in the Golf View Hotel. Prices agreed with the hotel - meal £4.95 and whisky on the table at £8 a bottle.
The Annual Outing would be to Aviemore on February 27th 1981 - a bus to be booked.
