It was agreed unanimously to elect the Rev. John Taylor to Honorary Membership of the Club.
14th February 1978 Management Committee
The recent Dinner & Court was reviewed. 81 had attended a new venue - The Golf View Hotel. Standards had been much improved from the previous year. The reply to the toast to the RCCC had been given by Chuck Hay (Kilgraston & Montcrieffe), and Ian Michie (Highland) had propsed the toast to Jack Frost. Profit on the evening was £1.50. Gregor Munro had bought the stoup for £47 (contained £30 !), so total profit was £48.50.
In future it would be arranged that a top table photo would be taken by a club member.
The European championships were to be held in Aviemore in December 1978 and ways of generating interest were discussed.
20th February 1978 Management Committee Meeting
Emergency Meeting was held to choose rinks as 5” of ice at Lake of Menteith had been reported and Grand Match Alert had been received. Alas, a thaw set in next day.
17th April 1978 - Management Committee Meeting
It was agreed that for future Grand Matches that that the President and Vice-President would pick the rinks, preference to be given to longer serving members and to those who had not played in a Grand Match before.
17th April 1978 - Annual General Meeting
Outdoor curling on Lochloy, when Nairn played a friendly against Cawdor. was mentioned in the president’s report.
Moray Province league winners were E F Brown, J Asher, L G Kerr and D A Kerr., and Bob Harcus (Forres) was the first winner of the new Moray Provice Points Trophy,
D A Kerr skipped the winning rink in Moray Prov Division 2.
The Province KO Winners and Area 10 KO winners were E F Brown, J Asher, R T Mirtle and B Ralph
Dewars Rose Bowl won by Eric Brown (skip) Jas Asher, L G Kerr and D A Kerr.
The Scottish Rotary Championship ( The Ramshead Trophy), held at Aviemore, was won by E F Brown, D H Forrester, R W Berry and I A Mackintosh for a second successive year.

D Harold Forester was elected president, with I Alastair Mackintosh as vice-president.
Attendance was encouraged at a Joint Buffet Supper and Prize Giving with Nairn Ladies to be held in The Golf View on 19th April, (tickets £2.50).

25th August 1978 - General Meeting
It was reported that the Nairnshire Curling Association had been revived with J Craigie (Cawdor) as president and S A Macarthur (Ardclach) as Secretary/Treasurer.
A "Town v County" match had been arranged arranged for Aviemore on 13th October 1978
There was to be a new set up of three divisions in the Moray Province Leagues.
5th December 1978 - Management Committee
Court arrangements were confirmed. Capt Jack Anderson, President of the RCCC would attend. David F Philip would give the toast to Jack Frost.
There was now an Annual Membership fee for Inverness Ice Rink Club of £1.10 per club member, and members would be advised to carry their membership card at all times.
Tom Hastie had skipped the Nairn Rink which had won the recent Dennis Icebowl bonspiel.
