1890

19 February 1890

The president of Auldearn in 1890 was W.C. Newbigging, who was also the first Captain of Nairn Golf Club. He presented a silver trophy for the annual points competition.

The 'Annual' for 1890-91 reports that on Feb 12th 1890, Auldearn beat Ballindalloch 31 shots to 23 on 'Good ice' at Grantown-on-Spey.

There is also an interesting vignette on curling etiquette when the club chaplain presents the RCCC District medal to the club Patron.

24th December, 1890

As mentioned previously, many of the Auldearn club matches were held under the banner of "town" ( Nairn) versus "county" ( Nairnshire).
