1988 February 1st Management Committee
The principal guest and replying to the toast of the RCCC would be curling legend Chuck Hay MBE. Other speakers arranged were Jack Waddell (Highland CC), "Jack Frost"; David Philip (Nairn) "Neighbouring Clubs", replied to by Alan James (Forres). Kenny Macdonald (Forres) was appointed Piper to the Court.
David Kerr raised the question of coaching for juniors, pointing out that Forres CC had good facilities and regularly ran a bus to Inverness Ice Rink. He agreed to make further enquiries with Alistair Kerr. It was later established that " Ron Philp, Forres does all the work for Forres Juniors, and has stated that unless he gets more help he will not be doing it again next season !"
The Annual Dinner and Court was held on February 5th in the Golf View Hotel, when the principal speaker, giving the reply to the toast to the RCCC was curling legend Chuck Hay MBE. 1988 April 25th AGM
Bob Pottie reported on a successful year. The Club and Province competitions had been well supported, although membership numbers had been falling. Some members had had to opportunity to play against the Canadian Touring Team. The Annual Outing had gone to Brora where the Club had been warmly welcomed. As well as curling and an excellent meal, a swim in the pool with an informal game of water polo had been enjoyed. Twelve members had been transported by Toby Macarthur's mini-bus, which included a blessing on Top of The Struie at no extra charge. Bill Young had retained the trophy.
In other competitions Bob Pottie, Bill Young, Alistair Adam and Des Coleman won the Fochabers Bonspiel. David Kerr, David C Brown, Alan Stanfield and George Wilson won the Province and Area 10 Knockout Competitions. Harold Forrester, Alistair Kerr, Eric McPhee and Bill Young were beaten finalists in the Scottish Rotary Championships at the Summit Centre, Glasgow.
Des Coleman was elected President, with Alistair Kerr Vice-president.
In the face of a £100 deficit in the accounts, membership subscriptions were increased to £10 per regular member and £5 per ocassional member
1988 September 5th General Meeting
The formation of Moray Firth Young Curlers was noted, but it was felt Nairn had no potential members at present.
Eight applications for Club membership had been received and approved.
It was agreed to return to Brora for the Annual Outing this season.
1988 November 29th Management Committee
The Dinner & Court was arranged for Friday 3rd February 1989, in the Golf View Hotel - RCCC Past-president Alex Torrance to be the principle guest. at The meal to cost £8.50, and whisky £12.
