The report of two matches between rivals, Nairn and Auldearn brought an incensed repost from a “Keen Curler” the following week . No prizes for guessing who the “Keen Curler” was but he was at pains to point out to a bemused editor that the match at Auldearn, when Mackay was hammered to the tune of 20 points to 5 by A. J. Mackintosh, was not a return challenge but merely a friendly “knock about” with six men a side.

A joint "supper" with "initiations" was held in the Royal Hotel on Thursday 20th February.
As a Dinner & Court it appears to have been a tame affair, but the menu reads well!
