Animals

Animals are living things that must get their energy to move and grow from eating food. They have various types.

Vertebrates are animals vthat have backbone.

Mammals:

Have hair or fur. Cared for by their mothers and feed on their mother's milk. Give birth.

Examples are dolphin, whale, monkey, platypus, bat and all of us

Birds:

Covered with feathers and have wings. They can fly.

Examples are peacock, ostrich

Reptiles:

Cold-blooded. They need heat.

Examples are crocodile, lizard, tortoise

Amphibians:

Live in the land or in water.

Examples are tree frog and salamander

Fish:

Breathe with gills. Covered with scales.

Invertebrate without backbones.

For example, worms have long, thin and soft bodies with no legs.
