The Scrolls of Nadrik
Nadrik has in the past lent His wisdom and will directly to His servants. One way in which this was done was the passing of scrolls to His devout. Upon these scrolls were scribed lessons He wished us to learn. Of these scrolls, only two have been recorded and recovered: the First and Second Lessons. If there were others, they have been lost.
The First Lesson was given to Sir Frazen Bruce, a Paladin of Nadrik and Knight of the Shield. Its contents have been clearly recorded upon a plaque in the Church of Nadrik near the waterfall west and south of Althainia, and scribed in the book, "The Holy Teachings of Good" by the priests of the Austinians.
The Second Lesson was lost for some time. The scroll had originally been given to Priestess Kristine Malory, who had been serving in Gareth Keep around the same time frame, or a little after Sir Frazen's service to the Keep. It was recently recovered by the Princess Caecius Mamoritai of Althainia, and the contents passed to the Lorekeeper to record here.
The First Lesson
(Transcribed from a scroll delivered to Frazen Bruce from a messenger of
Nadrik upon the Day of Deception, 16th Month of the Sun.)
The First Lesson to be learned is the Lesson of Courtesy. To a follower
of Nadrik, courtesy involves more than merely following rules of etiquette.
It is also an attitude, a way of presenting oneself to the world. A follower
of Nadrik carries himself proudly, maintains self-control, and accepts
ill-mannered behavior with grace. He follows social customs to the best of
his ability. He is polite and deferential to friends and strangers alike.
The Follower of Nadrik Must:
Consider the feelings of others and take care not to offend them. A
follower of Nadrik always demonstrates proper manners. Speak tactfully and
kindly. A follower of Nadrik never knowingly insults or slanders another
person, even his greatest enemy. If others engage in insults or slander,
the follower of Nadrik walks away.
Behave with dignity. A follower of Nadrik refrains from emotional
outbursts, excessive language, or other boorish acts.
Know now that these are as the Lord of Honor has intended, honor is not
something to be worn with convenience, it something that is meant as a way
of dealing with the self and with others. The path of honor is rigid but in
doing so one ensures his or her place in the light. One should bare no
thought that puts himself ahead of others. Should this lesson go unheeded
thy path differs from the Lord of Honor, consider it well.

The Second Lesson
The second lesson to be learned is the Lesson of Perseverance. To be a
follower of Nadrik, is to live ones life with great determination. Your
mind, soul, your heart and your values are the essence of your person. It
is those qualities that makes you an honorable person and those qualities
should never be set aside. To step away from who you are and what you
strive to be, is to throw away everything. The paths that others walk might
seem easier or might seem to hold greater riches, but to follow such path is
to walk away from your Lord Nadrik.
Life's victories must be made through your unvarying, honorable ways. To
obtain victory by means that do not uphold your constant standards is no
victory, but your greatest of defeats. To abandon the principles of honor
places you in the midst of your Lord's enemies.
When facing two paths and your mind is clouded with uncertainty. You wish
only to travel closer to your Lord Nadrik. Close thine eyes to your
surrounding, think of those actions you must take to follow each path. Each
of those actions most be uphold your values and principles. Your actions
are your own to live with, no one can bear the burden of your choices.
