Welcome to Knighthood

This tome has been compiled for all members of Knighthood, so that they might be aware of what is expected of them. It is a knowledge base for those seeking knowledge in the path to advancement according to the reform enacted by Lord d'Aggravaine.

The Call of Gareth

Gareth's

In these days past, I have spoken to many who ask about what is demanded

of them to take place here in Gareth's, we who man the front-line for the

Light.

Somethings are easily checked off with a tick in the appropriate column.

- One needs be a follower of a God of Good, lawful by intent, and of human

lineage.

Yet these attributes speak little to the other things each man or woman of

Gareth's is called on to.

A place in Gareth's Keep is both calling to spiritual and physical combat,

in both spheres do we take the fight to the ungodly and darken.

- One needs be able to conduct themselves with valor and purpose upon the

field of battle.

- One needs be of exceptional moral and spiritual fibre, with a focus and

devotion unto this Keep's cause, where distractions allowed, even

considered their right, of those devoted to lesser causes have no place

here.

For such are required men and women of fortitude and uprightness, qualities

that are perhaps exceptional in other places, but for us -is- our standard.

The focus of the men and women of this Keep is not the self, but the

fellowship of the Keep .. if one's intent is to harvest of life's pleasures,

other distractions and family ties, then these I direct to the gentle

life of the Kingdoms.

In Gareth's reside the glory of service pure, the blessings of dedication

unparalleled, and the privilege of carrying the standard of the Light in

the Eternal Battle, cloaked in Goodness and bound in Honor.

Nobilis Factum. Mors Ante Dedecoro.

Honor above all else.

d'Aggravaine. Crown.

Note: the steps towards recruitment are writ in the scroll, "Becoming a Knight". Only an official recruiter may guide Aspirants through this process.

Guidelines of the Keep

First, if you are within the Keep, ensure you are visible at all times.

The exception of course is when you prepare to venture forth to train or

for combat.

Second, we exist in a state of war with the Shadow, Bloodlust, Wargar, Chaos,

Conclave and Slayers.

There is to be no dueling or sparring with any of these. We are at war,

not a friendly game of tiddlywinks .. combat is reserved for the honorable

field, not the training exercises of the arena. This applies to all those

who are enemies of the Keep and of darken persuasion.

Third, we are of the Keep of Gareth, and as such we uphold the Light and

promote honor chiefly amongst its virtues.

We do not assist or lend nor receive aid from those of darken aura under

any circumstances, unless it is to save their souls and guide them to the

Light, even in this, judgment needs be exercised and each man and woman

of this Keep will be held to account for any action such.

Fourth, when attacked outside the Keep, you are to communicate to the clan,

where and whom attacks you.

You are expected to be aware who are your likely foes, and who can be

expected to aide you from the Keep.

For example, Help, Jixpk, Bloodlust, not engaging .. or somesuch ..

All those in the Keep are expected to make their priority the assistance of

their brothers or sisters of the Keep who encounter hazard. At times,

assistance may be slow in coming, for there are many matters outside our

control at a given instant.

So whilst one may expect assistance, the decision to continue the engagement

or withdraw must be made with an understanding of the tactical situation.

Fifth, you enter this Keep to serve the Light, taking battle to the ungodly.

Squires and pages are expected to devote themselves to their hone their

skills, actively participate in patrols, complete their tasks and earning

their spurs.

Amorous distractions are frowned upon, and formal courtships leading to

sacred matrimony are allowed only to those who have earned their spurs.

Sixth, the altar room is our place of fellowship and communion. It is the

place of those who are alert and those actively engaging in patrol. There

are ample places of quiet in the Keep for those who wish to meditate.

Should you be found unresponsive in the Altar Room, be certain, you will be

made to answer for it. Note well, any who anger the Gods by ignoring their

call, these who are punished for this offense will find themselves removed

summarily from the Keep.

Know why you enter this Keep. Our requirements are stern, befitting the

cause we serve.

d'Aggravaine. Crown.

Information for new Entrants

Welcome to Gareth Keep.

Be sure you have read our latest policies. You will be held accountable to them. Be sure to check the scroll if you have been away for any length of time so you are updated on any changes.

Included in the following pages is listed what is expected of you in the service of the Knighthood, and the information you will require to become a proud part in it. The tome of 'Advancement and Recruitment' holds many of the answers to the questions you might seek.

On the following pages your tasks are set out transparently for you to manage. This is -your- responsibility to prove your participation to the call. Within are is the path of an Aspirant which you have completed, now the path of the page and the squire is filled out in the following pages, and a guide to the Keep.

The 'Code of Conduct' and the place of the Crown, Lance and Shield are held with a great amount of information within the library.

Datai: a note sealed with a lute and falcon regarding: Battle Reports

Tue Nov 8 14:42:27 2011

To: Knighthood

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Knights (especially the page and squire ones),

Should a page or squire fall in battle with the enemy, as part of the

learning process, please write a report of the fight to the Knighthood.

This serves many handy purposes. One, it provides a forum which experienced

Knights may give you feedback on the battle. Two, it alerts our comrades to

the enemy activities: who is about when, and where, and working with whom.

And three, we have an opportunity to learn from the enemy's success, and

discover what tactics we may use to similar effect.

If you are a Knight, and fall in combat in a particularly creative or

interesting fashion which others might learn from, please feel free to share

your experience.

Siccara bless,

Lady Datai d'Aggravaine, Shield

PS: Related to this, keep in mind that you cannot gate or teleport out of

many of the temples and taverns of the world. I really must pay better

attention to where I am, for if I had a copper for every time I failed in

those situations, I'd be a richer bard instead of a deader one.
