Herein are the tales and reports surrounding the events perpetrated by this vile perpetrator of evil, Alrekr. Other similar events that may or may not be related to him are also reported here as we try to gain some sense of what exactly is at work.
This vile wizard has been behind a number of evil deeds before his recent abduction of Sir Michael of Gareth's Keep, and his attack on Thaxanos. Prior to this he had accosted Sir Michael and General Thrakhath when they were members of the Wrath of Justice. The details of this encounter are in the reports. Also taking place before the abduction of Sir Michael was the abduction of Bryanna of Nordmaar. She was taken to the same place as Sir Michael: the Gaarenborg village on Icewall.
He has never stated any master plan or motive for his evil deeds. Many believe he is an agent of Malachive, though this seems to be mostly supposition and rumor. He does use orcs to serve as his brutish army, which is similar to Malachive. He can create massive portals to other realms, and transport creatures and victims through them. These he can easily close behind him to prevent anyone from following through.
It is asked that any who learn more of this Wizard, his motives, actions, and powers, to report it to Loremaster Sehvelarious Iolius and Lorekeeper Datai Amberillo.

Greetings, my friends. I write this to you now to inform you of what
may be coming. Recently while sitting in the Altar room, I felt the presence
of a familiar spirit. Long ago, the Lance General and I vanquished, or so
we thought, a dark spirit from the realm. He was tormenting the spirit of a
woman, a woman who has once more come to me for aid. It seems the spirit of
this wizard has once again taken her captive and torments her. When we last
faced this entity, it proved to be a powerful and dangerous adversary. Blue
flames enveloped Lord Nar'gyatt, and when it touched my chest, the handprint
burned through, weakening me and stopping my breath.
I have seen visions of a tower high in the mountains, the tower gleamed in
the light, leading me to believe it was made of glass or ice. The Generals
have surmised it is likely the Crystal Monestary I seek. I will investigate
further, but please, be prepared all for what may come. Not all can walk
among the spirits as I do, but if you pay attention, you may feel something
or see something which could help in this matter.
Thank you,

Greetings again, my friends. The last missive I penned to you described
events of the past and possible events to come. Some of these events have
happened. With the help of the Lord Knight and the Lance General, as well
as Page Dhalia, we were able to rescue the young girl from her tormentor.
Her name is Drealda, and she is currently resting within the Keep after
years of being held captive. Please, should you run into her, treat her
with the respect and kindness you have shown me, as she is my guest here.
Now of things to come. We rescued her from her captor, yes, but he has not
been destroyed. She feels, as do I, that the Wizard will return for her
and to see his revenge on us. The marking I saw upon the wall, she says,
is his way in, past our defenses. He has been amassing an army, according
to Drealda, and keeps a dragon to aid in his battles. He prepares now, as
I write this and as you read it. Our only course of action is to wait and
prepare ourselves for the fight that is to come. We have an idea on how
to defeat the wizard and his armies, but it will take all the manpower we
can muster to weaken his forces.
Thank you,

Michael paced uneasily before the Chapel of Fallen Heroes. Drealda slept
quietly inside, but the soulseer grew more and more restless at the thought
of evil forcing its way into the Keep. She said they had some time, but
he could not sit idly back and wait, preparations had to be made. He moved
back to the Altar, where Thrakhath, Gwaine, Ramias and Regus rested. Michael
greeted his friends, who were already discussing the matter.
'Nothing a good paladin cannot shield strike the memory out of, however,'
the yinn said to Ramias, then nodding to Gwaine, 'Yes?'
'I thought the hooves of your charger on his forehead, that seemed far more
effective,' replied Gwaine.
'A little of both then, hmm?' said Thrakhath, a satisfied look on his face.
Ramias, aware of the possibility of the wizard having studied the books of
necromancy, spoke up, suggesting the wizard may use a phylactery, an item
tied to the wizard's very soul, making him impossible to kill, lest the
phylactery is destroyed.
'If he uses one of these...phylacteries,' said Michael, 'perhaps his soul
can be trapped inside, never to be released. Using...his own magic to trap
him.'
Michael nodded to himself then looked up at the spot on the wall where the
glyph had appeared then disappeared and a chill ran down his spine.

Order of Gareth,
A few days ago, the Lord Knight, myself and the Soulseer were summoned and
called upon by a spirit in distress. This spirit, the manifestation of this
one innocent lady by the name of Drealda, was imprisoned by a dark force.
The Soulseer's visions pointed us to the tower of the Wizard Alrekr,
southeast of the Garenborg village on Icewall.
It is here that the dark force manifested itself into the form of the Wizard
Alrekr. Of course, the members of the party had dealt with this wizard
before, but we have never seen in so strong and capable of many arcane
spells. It is my opinion that a darker force has possessed this Wizard,
allowing it to even cloak itself beyond all known means of detection.
With the Wizard Alrekr, or at least, whatever that possessed the Wizard gone
and undetectable, we opted to bring this innocent lady as a guest to the
Keep.
She was last escorted to rest and recover in the Chapel of Fallen Heroes.
The reason as to why I am rallying and mustering all available numbers is
most simple. The Soulseer had a vision -after- this incident that gives us
an idea of this dark force's ability. It has been building an army, won the
allegiance of a dragon.
And, that, the Soulseer's visions speak of a time most near that this evil
force will attempt to force it's way into the Keep, presumably, for innocent
Drealda's soul, or even to enact vengeance on the Order for thwarting its
plans.
Make yourself available most soon, we will most definitely battle this Evil
Doer and let it feel the wrath of the Light.

Greetings, my friends.
Thank you all for the assistance in fighting the dark wizard and freeing
me from my icy prison in which he held me captive. The girl, Drealda, as
some of you know, was not as fortunate as I, as her life was lost, taken
by the wizard as his earthly shell was destroyed and his spirit fled.
During my time alone with him, high atop the tower, he laid out his plan
to me, first telling me the girl was but a pawn to get to me, and that he
planned to use me to get to General Nar'gyatt, as the two of us, years ago,
were instrumental in the slaying of a lich, the first time we met Drealda.
The wizard planned to take our powers, my link to the spirit world and the
general's strength and tactical mind, to use himself, making him, as he put
it, unstoppable.
Due to the efforts of Gareth's finest, his plans were thwarted, and
although the girl's life was lost, her soul now rests peacefully, after
years of torment, the likes of which no one should ever be forced to
endure.
I have not had the chance to speak in detail of your trials in rescuing
me, but I'm sure it was not an easy task, and I cannot thank those involved
enough. May it never be required on any of you that I return the favor.

The gates broke. And then the enemy were upon them.
Any organization and rank quickly fell to pieces as the orcish horde
descended upon them. Rassilon lost sight of his comrades in th sea of ugly
faces and deadly weapons, and brought himself into quick focus. Himself,
his sword, his enemy. All else faded into a dull blur around him.
The horde was relentless, but the defenders were stubborn and tough as the
mountain under which they lived. As always, Rassilon was impressed and even
a little awed by the sheer power that was the dwarven war machine. And he
fought side by side with them and many others, Sonzoku whistling through the
air, decapitating orc invaders and sending their heads flying through the
air. Determined not to let them overshadow him and the other Knights
present he pressed more firmly into the fray, which nearly proved his
undoing more than once, and someone (he had the dim idea it was Sir
Snowdragon) pulled him from the carnage before things got too hot.
He retreated for a breather, taking a moment to clear his head and rest his
body, since he would do the people of Thaxanos no good dead. And then he
returned to the chaos, making his way to join the now organizing defenders,
following General (no, Emperor now) Mamoritai as he rallied the defenders to
strike at the orc general and his foul wizard.
It was chaos. It was bloodshed and slaughter. It was war. Thaxanos was
burning, and the bodies of dwarven civilians and soldiers alike, to say
nothing of the orcish horde, filled the streets which ran red and green with
blood. The air was thick with the scent of battle.
And the defenders were winning.

M'lords and Ladies of Gareth,
Last eve, we were informed that the invasion of the Orcish army had made
it's way to the gates of Thaxanos. With prior communication between myself
and the Thane of Wargar. It was understood our intentions were not hostile
towards them, so we might aide the other Althainian's in the battle.
There was not much deliberation prior to. I spoke to Sir Rassilon Shiroken,
and we dispersed to prepare our armor and protective spells, before riding
to the mountain kingdom of Thaxanos. We arrived to the Kingdom knowing that
our intention was to join forces with the Althainian contingent at the north
gate. The contingent of Althainians led by Emperor Mercerion Mamoritai were
already entrenched in battle as we arrived.
The formidable group with many of Althainia's finest, the Knights of Gareth,
and a few of the dwarven contingent of the light, were a bit more than the
orcish soldiers had bargained for. They're underestimating the strength of
such armies was evident as they scattered into the night.
Though there were a few things to note within this battle. There was a
sighting of a Wizard I had not seen or heard from, since our own very
encounter with him some time ago. The Wizard whom kidnapped Michael and the
young girl from the walls in our keep, via a portal. Was the same wizard
that was behind the attack of the Orcs, in Thaxanos. I may be mistaken in
his name, Alrekr, though I am not mistaken in his face. He is the same one
that kidnapped one of our own.
Information gathered from the mountains of Thaxanos, tells us that the
Wizard is not done yet, and will attack again within two weeks time, from
the exact date they attempted, and failed, an invasion of Thaxanos.

helping. We appreciate all offers.
There are some concerns being stated that some might be attacked by other
enemies, should they attempt to aid us in this fight. I cannot promise that
won't happen but we are doing our best to make sure it doesn't.
Wargar will not attack any who we have wars with, while they are in the
kingdom fighting to save the mountain. Our attentions will only be on the
orcs and all others who are sent, and we hope that those will be the only
ones we will have to defend against.
For the time, aura's seem of little concern and other wars quite distant.
I'm sure all who do come will be of the same mind as the dwarven nation: to
beat back this army and save our home, and perhaps other homes that might be
affected in the future.
This isn't the God wars, nor the fight against Malachive. It's a battle
against a wizard who's gotten too overconfident of himself and thinks he can
take over Algoron. He won't succeed with Thaxanos and Wargar.
Those who would show up with the intent of attacking others from behind
while they engage with the orcs will be showing their dishonor to the whole
of Algoron and to the Gods they worship. I doubt any of the deities would
want to see this mountain fall, since many of their followers live here.

Dear Knights,
A bit of news from the Mountain on their trials with our old nemisis, The
Wizard Alrekr. True to the Wizard's cowardly nature, he didn't show up for
the battle of the mountain, but sent plenty of orcs and dragons which the
dwarves and allies repelled.
Thane Rintoor Stonebiter of the Xaprar, their Lorekeeper, related to me a
great miracle of a dwarven Raije sort. Their former king, Grumf
Thislebeard, was given new life. A Thane Gorthaxul, who first warned them
about the impending battles, asked what the dwarves would give in return for
Grumf's life. To which they replied anything, and many dwarves stepped
forward, asking that they trade their life for that of their old king. At
that Gorthaxul swung his axe as hard as he could at Grumf's lifeless body,
and it seemed to magically move. The axe then struck near Grumf's head, and
his eyes fluttered awake, and his robes changed to that of a Cardinal of
Raije's church.
This has brought great joy and hope to the dwarven people. However, Alrekr
is still at large. We all suspect, of course, he'll strike again.
The Thane imparted his deepest thanks for our help. The intelligence we
gathered on the Wizard proved of great assistance to them, and they are

was human, elf, or something else, seemed stunned we had arrived, and
suggested that someone is helping us. She let us know that Alrekr is very
old and has mastered the elements. Also, that Alrekr had several students,
one of which being the Gypsy King. When the Gypsy King became too powerful,
Alrekr locked him for eternity in his current residence, stripping him of
much of his power.
Goarff and I were able to refuse the sorceress' attempts to bribe body parts

The dwarves had further misadventures with Alrekr, though news of the details are a bit confused and hard to understand. Gotten by somewhat second hand sources, here I will relate what has leaked out from Wargar’s stronghold.
Related to Akxo’s missive on Thane Betha, she was encased in ice. It is believed the dwarves made a bargain with witches to free her; however, in doing so they also freed an elf wizard.
It is hard to say what the elven wizard’s intentions truly were, the dwarves, of course, did not trust it. Freed, they believe the elven wizard went to the Conclave. The elf apparently was a big rival of Alrekr, for good or evil it could not be said. However, both this elf wizard and Alrekr desired a magical object: a book, or stone or something from the Underworld. Both Wargar and the Conclave, with the aid of the elven wizard, raced to the Underworld to secure the item.
Strangely, though, neither side would obtain it. Instead Dark Lord Lanival and the Knights of Shadow were there, and took the item. A large and confusing confrontation between all sides, and orcs, presumably in service of Alrekr, ensued. Lord Lanival destroyed the stone somehow and the elf wizard perished. Alrekr escaped as near as anyone could know or tell. The strange symbol on the wall of Wargar hall did disappear after all of this, for good or ill, everything is somewhat back to normal.
How or what the Shadow Knights know remains somewhat a mystery. It should be noted in the second battle for Thaxanos they had interest in participating in the battle on the side of the dwarves. It appears they are acting on some agenda, motivation and information source unknown by the rest of us. Any with some observation or news related to the Shadow Knights’ activities in regards to Alrekr should come forward to the Crown, Loremaster or Lorekeeper.

Knight's of Gareth's Keep,
This day the wizard Alekus of Hemskoen sought to conquer Thaxanos, summoning
a vast and unholy army of unholy creatures to do so. The dwarves mounted a
defense, bolstered by support from many nations, particularly the city of
Abaddon who came to enjoy senseless bloodshed. One of whom was so eager he
stepped into a dwarven catapult and found himself fulfilling the role of
ammo.
When the skinless dragons got within range, they dropped their cargo, dorc
and mulbin abominations, bearing kinship to orcs and goblins in name only,
for they had been horrifically experimented upon and crudely stitched
together. Like the last invasion with orcs, they swarmed in mass numbers,
augmented by the skinless dragons. Our own dragons proved more than a match
for them.
The final enemy turned out to be a great white wyrm and the would-be
conquerer themself. I understand they were cut down by the spear of
Hemskoen that High King Grumf Thistlebeard carried. Upon his defeat the
majority of enemies faded away.
Although a sinister voice promised it was far from over, the day is largely
regarded as a victory. I found much irony in the fact that Abaddon broke
ranks over a dispute (some defender they had cast out, or left, or some
such) and many of them felt the sting of Death today, and were on the
recieving end instead of the delivering one.
I acted as the only Knight available and represented our Order during the

Knights of Gareth,
Long ago, I was tasked with compiling some research regarding the rogue mage
known as Alrekr and sent a copy to your keep. Due to recent events, I feel
it is once again important for us all to familiarize ourselves with his
history and actions.
As such, I am forwarding another copy for your archives.
Please find attached the information I was able to gather. Let us meet this
continued threat as citizens of Algoron, not as enemy factions.
In researching the siege of Thaxanos, I have come across much interesting
information. I first approached a number of people that fought in the
siege, including Enduriel, Brockner, Kraxul, Datai, Akxo, and several
others. Then, I gained access to the archives of both the Mountain and
Gareth Keep, to fill in some things I wasnt quite sure about.
Firstly, I was told by Enduriel that the attack was not perportrated by
Chaos and Malachive or Seanan at all, but by a lone mage, with his own
armies. The mage is called Alrekr, and he has tremendous power over the
elements, as well as the ability to control orcs and ice goblins. He
survived the attacks, and still resides within his tower upon a mountain in
Garrenborg, where people bump into him frequently while questing for the
lance of the hemskoen.
After that conversation came an exaustive conversation with Brockner. I say
exaustive, because after speaking with him, and comparing what he told me to
that of all the others present, I wonder if he was drunk off his donkey, or
just at a different siege altogether. Brockner assures me that it WAS
Seanan, and that the army consisted solely of Ice goblins accompanied by a
dragon. While it is possible that there were ice goblins and a dragon
present, I am confident that Seanan was not, based on the rest of my
research.
Kraxul confirms that the attack was led by Alrekr, who sought to take
control of the mountain and kill or enslave the dwarves. Alrekr survived
the attacks and currently resides upon icewall, as stated previously by
Enduriel. Information, brought some sort of mysterious artifact that was
able to negate the wizards power, saving the day.
Perhaps the most interesting, and thourough account came from Akxo, of the
Mountain. Akxo had met the wizard previously, and spent some time as a
captive of his, if I understand correctly. I spoke with Akxo of three
things specifically. Firstly, the wizards orb. It was said by many others
that the wizard Alrekr carried a powerful magic orb. It occured to me that
this orb would be of great value to the Conclave's research, so I pressed
Akxo for information. Unfortunatly, apparently no one has gotten a close
enough look at it to be able to provide any, or to tell me how much of the
wizards power actually comes from the orb, if any. Secondly, Akxo told me
he thinks Alrekr simply to be a pawn of a greater evil. He suggests that
Alrekr is controlled, or at least servant to the Hemskoen, the leader of
Gaarenborg. While I have been unable to confirm this, it seems a reasonable
determination. The Alrekr we confront when searching through the tower in
Gaarenborg seems to simply be a shell, a tool being used by a greater evil
indeed.
Lastly, we spoke of Alrekr's apprentices. During my research in Gareth's
archives, I came across records of 3 apprentices, the first being the Gypsy
King in the Gypsy camp on Arkane. The King did something grevious to anger
Alrekr, and was stripped of the majority of his power, and sent to rule over
the camp. When I travelled to the camp to speak with the King, I was met
with hostility from all around, and he decided he would rather fight than
talk. I was unable to convince him otherwise, so, he died.
Little is written of the other 2 apprentices. Akxo suggests that Raelanthyr
Isloran, who recently kidnapped the Thane may be the second, but Raelanthyr
was slain, so the information there is a dead end.
I was also informed that the dwarves expect another attack in the VERY
near future, led by the Hemskoen. I would suggest we gather our magi to
assist in whatever way we are able.
During the course of my research, three things stuck out. Firstly, the Orb
that Alrekr may or may not derive his power from. If we could somehow
capture that orb, I am certain that we could use it's power to defeat him,
and his master.
Secondly, the mysterious artifact that the High King used to quell the
magi's power. For several reasons. It would certainly be a powerful weapon
against the magi, and at the same time, though relations are currently fine
between the towers and Wargar, this may not always be the case. The last
thing we need is an enemy with a powerful anti-magic relic.
And thirdly, who is the third apprentice? If we could identify the third
apprentice, we may be able to get some information out of him.
Unfortunatly, there are no records addressing these three issues, and none
seem willing to speak of them, even with the offer of ale and treasure to
loosen their lips.
Silvain Gluviel, a wild elven ranger living in Althainia gave me a brief account of the events regarding repelling the most recent invasion of Thaxanos. He went in with a contingent of Althainians, and said they faced undead beings and a skinless dragon. The dwarves seemed familiar with the abominations and named them Hemskoen. The abominations seemed more like spirits and flesh crafted golems. He said that he thought they were after the spear that the High King Grumf held. The monsters were not led by Alrekr, however, but a villain named Farium was indicated instead. The dwarves seemed familiar with Farium, but did not provide any details about this enemy. After a long fight Grumf used the spear to slay the dragon and the rest of the enemy retreated.
Recently abominations appeared in Arkane, Shalonesti, Althainia and Abbadon. Dame Kiery went forth to cleanse Althainia of them. They were small in number, only two appeared in Althainia, and she was unable to turn them with her undead turning powers. They were crafted out of flesh. It was learned that they were seeking corpses for their master, but this master was not named. The flesh golem abominations seemed similar to the constructs Farium brought to the fight in Thaxanos.

Allies,
There is a necromancer calling forth these abominations, Thersul or
something close. Be on the lookout.

Althainians and Knights,
The Empire was under attack this day by evil abominations summoned by a
necromancer. The Gareth had chased him out of Shalonesti and Arkane, though
some had escaped to Althainia.
The Empress summoned the Knights for aid, and we gladly provided it.
Should they return, do not hesistate to call upon us.

As twilight descended upon the lands of Algoron, the quiet shambling of
unnatural creatures could be heard by the few listening for it.
Animals fled before the stench of death as walking corpses arose to attack
the unwitting kingdoms. What nefarious purpose they served came to light as
neither talk nor diplomacy nor even uncertain aid turned these undead
minions aside: death was all that pleased them.
The people screamed as these monsters assaulted each city. Over and over
they came, gathering more corpses at the unholy will of their master. The
metallic stench of blood began to fill the streets as citizens and heroes
alike fell to the abominations.
Emboldened by the success of his creations, the dark puppet master finally
stepped forth. With a final massive assault in mind, the necromancer
Thersul gathered the extent of his powerful dark magics and threw his army
at the now combined forces of all those he had attacked.
... And failed!
Bloody, horrible silence fell over all as the undead army fell. Every last
corpse laid low by the men and women of Algoron who had fought valiantly for
their kingdoms.
Thwarted, enraged, the necromancer Thersul fled the battlefield to regain
his strength with a last vow to return.
