Protocols in Saluting an Officer

hen an Officer enters the room, only the senior Knight should salute. If you are not the senior Knight, your salute will be understood. When entering a room of Knights, it is acceptable to give a broad salute, then acknowledge the members of the room by rank. Example - Hail Lady Crown, Generals, Colonel, Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is only necessary to salute an Officer the first time you pass the officer in the keep. The only other times should you salute the officer would be if you were called to a meeting, or is missed from one.

Protocols in Addressing an Officer

ll officers and Knights can be referred to as sir. It is acceptable to call them by their rank, such as General, Lieutenant, or Colonel.Dame is the feminine equivalent of sir, and is the proper form of address for a woman Knight.Another form of addressing a Knight or Officer is to call them Ser. It will show respect and will not be confused with sir.

Those that hold a special rank within the keep such as High Clerist or Weaponmaster may be called by either Sir or their respective ranks within the keep.

All Pages and Squires should refer to each other by their first name. Knights and Officers should refer to Pages and Squires as such.
