Kuririn ponders our wars

You say 'Hail Brother Kuririn.'

You say 'You wished to discuss our current wars?'

Kuririn says (to You) 'I was curious of your thoughts, High Clerist.'

Datai has entered the realm.

You say 'I think we only ought to have enduring wars with evil.'

You salute Datai.

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

You say 'Wars over vampires.'

Datai returns your salute with a grin.

You shrug.

Kuririn says (to You) 'Then we share the same opinion'

You say 'Will not change the mind of a stubborn dwarf.'

You say 'Will not change the mind of a mage that puts magic before good.'

You say 'Will not change the mind of a Slayer sworn to slay God's creatures.'

Kuririn says (to You) 'I believe the past several battles have made it clear where the

dwarves truly stand... yet we wage a war over a vampire... that never shows. '

Datai says 'Yah, why don't they slay the vampires?'

You say 'Those three's purpose is not to bring about Evil to the world.'

You say 'Brother Gwaine would say it was principle.'

Kuririn says (to You) 'Principle directs us to kill dwarves of good, because of a

vampire that barely walks their halls?'

Kuririn says (to You) 'Principle directs we kills those of the light for defending the

towers?'

Kuririn shakes his head.

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'On principal, I avoid attacking dwarves of Good, Suh.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Or even any dwarves, unless I see the vampire.'

Kuririn says 'With the current state of affairs.. it seems that we are more concerned

with two vampires than the status of Lord Nadrik or Unity of the light.'

You say 'If you were the Crown, what would you do?'

Kuririn says (to You) 'Decision mine to make?'

Kuririn says (to You) 'Peace with the Conclave and with the dwarves.'

You say 'They harbour a vampire who is an evil undead demon, but is not here often.'

You say 'There are others that would agree with you Brother Kuririn.'

You say 'I can see reason in both arguments and would seek peace myself also.'

Datai says (to You) 'Don't forget, Nadrik, or His Avatar, or something said that

Nadrik does abhore those things.'

Kuririn says 'Then, perhaps we should make our voices heard.'

You say 'But Brother Gwaine sees the politics of letting such things go on.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'So do I, but the bloodshed against the Ivory and

the disunity created over a single individual is not worth it.'

You say 'If we let one thing slide in the name of peace, how long would it be till

Evil demanded another?'

You say 'You give an inch, they take a mile.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Plenty of evil resides within the Vallen... why

do we not war?'

You say 'Brother Gwaine is well versed with my opinion of who we ought to war Brother

Kuririn.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Are there alot of evil elves nowadays, Suh? I guess

tradition, as that was not the norm years ago.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Oh, so now it is norms that dictate our wars?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Elves used to be rather good.'

You say (to Datai) 'The good vampires.'

Caenarfon holds his head in his hands.

Datai says (to You) 'Well, vampires then were way different from vampires now,

Father.'

Kuririn says 'It is my belief that the reason we do not war the Vallen.. is because

they are more concerned with defending their forest and way of life than an aggressive

pursuit of evil.'

Kuririn says 'Is this correct?'

Kuririn says 'Despite that they allow evil within the woods.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Yah, they do not impede us in our tasks to fight greater

evils.'

Kuririn says 'If we choose to pursue peace, then how is this different from Wargar or

the Conclave?'

You say 'Wargar will not cede to our demands no matter how long we might hold to our

principle.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'And those elves who are evil abide by elven traditions and

standards which are more or less, goodish.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Colonel, so the dwarves and towers traditions

are "more or less" evil?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'No, I'm not arguing with yah, Suh, I'm making points. I see

yers, and yah know me, I like peace better than everyone.'

You say (to Datai) 'Don't you have a song about that?'

You say (to Datai) 'Don't you have a song about that?'

You beam a smile to yourself.

Datai says (to You) 'Don't remind me, Father.'

Datai rolls her eyes at you.

You say 'Dwarves and Towers are not evil, although they have evil members.'

You say 'They are not driven by evil ideology.'

Kuririn says 'Honestly... it is beyond disheartening to know we choose to war the

dwarves and conclave... over single individuals. We rather violate unity of the light.

'

Datai says 'What is interesting is these wars never really impede us when it matters.

As soon as something dire comes up, its ceasefire and work together. So yah do have

to wonder the point of the wars.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'And what about the Slayers Suh, why don't yah ask for peace

with them? They have good members.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'That shows me that there is not a point to them'

Kuririn says (to You) 'Perhaps you are right.... it is simply... "politics."'

You nod.

You say 'And principle.'

You say 'Slayers do not seek to force evil ideology on anyone.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I'd advocate a stance of peace, but knowing we

will defend the metallics. '

You say 'We barely are in the field at the same time as a good dragon.'

You say 'Yet when we do meet we fight. Where is the sense in that?'

Kuririn says 'It seems to me that we lack focus.'

You say 'Some say that is what principle is all about.'

You say 'Sticking to your bows. Even when it doesn't makes sense to do so for most of

the time!'

Kuririn says (to You) 'What principle are we exactly following?'

You say 'That we find the presence of a demon unacceptable in the halls of

neutrality.'

You say 'It being an undead demon, stealing the soul of it's host as a parasite.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'I believe, because vampires are demons, they are then

regarded as a greater evil. Therefore we wish to slay them. In attacking vampires,

we are put in a state of war with the clans that they are in.'

You say 'If it is evil and undead, then technically we are not for it.'

You say 'But this is not one way.'

You say 'The dwarves are fools for thinking it is still a dwarf.'

You say 'They are not being rational. They seek only for more power in their midst.'

You say 'It is completely insincere.'

You say 'They ought to be more concerned about where in HELL their clansman is.'

You say 'But no, they snuggle to the undead demon as if it were their fellow.'

Kuririn chuckles.

Datai wrinkles her nose.

Kuririn says 'So again...'

Kuririn says 'This is but a single principle'

You say 'Completely overlooking where the demon has done with their dwarf!'

Aerahan shivers and suffers.

Kuririn says 'We willfully violate unity in pursuit of two individuals. '

Datai says 'Must we be the same for there to be unity, Suh?'

Kuririn says 'And arguing that these vampires present a greater evil... I do not agree

with. But, that can be argued.'

Datai says 'Must there be agreement for there to be unity?'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'We need not kill 30 mages of the Light for their

brethren being possessed. '

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Do we, Suh? Our Knights shouldn't be.'

Kuririn blinks.

You say 'I am not slaying good dwarves or white mages.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Are you claiming we have not killed many mages

of the light over this single individual?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Those that have attacked us, yah, they have gotten killed by

us, Suh.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Attacked or defended?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'We've offered them the chance to peace, Suh. If yah were a

demon, I wouldn't defend yah.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'My Lord has acknowledged and honored their

mission to defend the towers. '

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'This is true, and Lord Nadrik has acknowledged and honored

our mission to destroy vampires.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'If I was of evil, would you defend me?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Nah, I'd kick yah out of the Knighthood, Suh, if yah didn't

get yer head on straight.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'and then?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'If yah were evil, yah'd probably be ticked at me and try to

kill me for kicking yah out, Suh. It's happened, I reckon. I've seen more than one

anti paladin.'

Kuririn says 'So, you believe it would end in a struggle?'

Aerahan shivers and suffers.

You say (to Kuririn) 'Where are you going with this Brother Kuririn?'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Don't get me wrong, I pleaded and cried and begged for them

to recant and all that. And for a while they'd leave me in peace, and let me have

mercy out of pity. But then, sometime along the line, they'd see me out, and try to

kill me.'

Kuririn shakes his head.

Kuririn says 'yet we have peace with the vallen'

Kuririn says (to You) 'My point is that I believe politics, not principle are

dictating wars'

You say 'I don't think we're fighting Wargar because they have evil, I think it's the

demons.'

Kuririn says (to You) 'My point is that at this point, unity is more important than

two individuals'

You say 'If Shalonesti had demons, we'd be fighting the Vallens as well.'

You say 'Ah, the principle of utility!'

Kuririn says (to You) 'I disagree that the demon there is of any greater threat than

evil within Shalonesti.'

You say 'That is the Crown's differentiator.'

You say 'But I believe also in the principle of utility.'

You say 'Although it can lead to great questions of honor.'

You say 'If we have sworn to remove all vampires, and one threatens our unity, then we

have broken our oath.'

You say 'Although the reasoning for the volume affected is clear.'

Kuririn shakes his head.

You say 'Don't be downhearted Brother Kuririn.'

Kuririn says 'I tire of this... I sit and listen to conversation after conversation

within these halls'

Kuririn says (to You) 'I have heard you'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'You'

You say 'There is no right and wrong here, just a matter of opinion.'

Kuririn says 'and all of our other leaders talk more about Xaerik and the dwarves...

then Lord Nadrik'

You say 'And the Crown holds the choice, we can but petition to him.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'That is not what my conversations with the Shield General are

about, Suh.'

You say 'Lord Nadrik is foremost in our thoughts Brother Kuririn, if there were a way

to the black moon, we would all be there this moment.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'She is usually worried about Lord Nadrik, and what we can do

for Him. I think where many falter there, we have decided, is that we do not know

what we can do for Him.'

Kuririn says (to You) 'Perhaps in the thoughts, Father. But, it has not manifested

itself within the words.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Aside from pray, at this point, and be ready for any opening

or chance to rescue Him.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Perhaps they have been far too subtle in that regard,

though.'

You say 'My prayers are my only conduit to Him.'

You say 'What else can we do down here till the next shard opportunity presents

itself?'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I do not remember a single conversation about

the topic.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'I'll point yah to my ideas for things to write about for

Kadiya day. "Remembering Nadrik's suffering..."'

Kuririn says 'Anyway... we are now beating a dead horse and doing exactly what I wish

we would do less of.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'I wish I could say it was my idea. But that was from the

Generals.'

You frown at Kuririn.

You say (to Kuririn) 'I am saying I agree with the position of peace Brother Kuririn,

but this policy is not something within my control.'

Kuririn says (to You) 'I understand that, which is why we should do what we can to

remedy the situation.'

You say 'Apart from conversation with the Crown where I have already aired my desire,

what would you do Brother Kuririn?'

Kuririn says (to You) 'I believe that if the majority of voices push for the policy...

the earlier mentioned politics will work out.'

You say 'You can but try Brother Kuririn.'

You say 'But Brother Gwaine is a strong believer in principle.'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'But what if the majority of voices pushed for war, Suh? Yah

are sitting here with three Shield Knights two of which with a known penchent for

peace.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'We push to convince them.'

You say 'We're a couple of doves.'

You grin.

Datai says 'While Lord Gwaine's principal covers his consicnce, in the matter, there

are others who believe war is the right way, and have voice so to Lord Gwaine.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'We express our reasons for peace, develop a

clear argument, establish a goal, and do the work.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I am sure I can name them without knowing

exactly who and I would welcome their reasons for the war'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'And it would not just be our own Knights. The unity yah are

seeking, not waring wargar or the conclave would disrupt operations with the Wrath.'

Kuririn chuckles.

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'The wrath will not turn and war us'

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'I'm not arguing against yah here again, I'm just pointing out

that this is bigger than us, Lord Gwaine's principals, and even the Knighthood.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'the Wrath will choose what it does. '

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Ain't that always the truth, Suh.'

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'They seem to be just as neutral as the Horde.'

Kuririn chuckles.

Kuririn says 'I just thought of the plague...'

Kuririn grins at Datai.

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Yah, I'll be honest, I don't like hanging out with them. I

try to be somewhat helpful to our allies, and all, but... I'd rather just stick with

yah all.'

Kuririn says 'and our working alongside the evil of conclave during it...'

Kuririn laughs.

Kuririn says 'principle'

Kuririn shakes his head.

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'And said evil was acting as.. well, not very evil in the

matter.'

Kuririn says 'Anyway... I am through'

Kuririn says 'I speak my mind few times and I thank you for listening'

Kuririn sits on a strong hardwood pew and rests.

You smile at Kuririn.

You say 'It is good to know the views of Knights.'

You say 'I respect your opinion.'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Datai says (to Kuririn) 'Oh yah can talk to Father Caenarfon and I any time, Suh. We

are great at playing devion's advocate, too. Espically the priest of Nadrik.'

Kuririn says (to You) 'and I yours, which is why I sought you out.'

You smile at Kuririn.

You kneel and pray for the blessing of wisdom.

Kuririn is filled with a divine nourishment.

Datai says 'Yah, sorry I butted in, Suh.'

Kuririn chuckles.

Kuririn says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'It's quite alright'

Datai says 'Yah can't talk about these things in the Altar room in front of me, even

when yah think I'm peacefully sleeping, it'll wake me!'

You say (to Datai) 'Are you sure you know that song of peace?'

You beam a smile to yourself.

You say 'You sounded like a hawk!'

Datai says (to You) 'I've argued for peace for so many wars so many times, Father, I

know the arguments, reasons, and politics against me better than my own, I'm afraid.'

Datai says (to You) 'Remember when we nearly did go to war with Shalonesti over the

vampires, Father? I don't even know how I won that arguement.'

You say 'I thought we did go to war.'

Datai says (to You) 'Someone better at argueing for peace than me must have been at

work.'

Datai says (to You) 'Nope, we got close a few times.'

Datai says (to You) 'Then I think before the next close call, Zandreya cured them all

and that solved it.'
