We all understand our history well, we have always faced our ideological enemies of evil, and always followed the gods of Good.
Given the dilemma above, this puts us on a collision course.
Our purpose is to protect the weak, champion virtue and morality in a lawfully good and structured way. We have our code which defines our actions, the means justify the ends. We do things because they are the right thing to do, and that ought to lead us to the outcome which is the best for good.
It is possible that Austinian and Nadrik will come down and tell us what to do, but in the event that they do not we must have a sentient plan in place should events overtake us.
We submit the following outcomes to you. As this is a dilemma, there is no right or wrong answer. Each comes with caveats, good and bad. Some you will find morally abhorrant, but these are the options.
Pro Gods of Light
1. If we choose to carry on our fight against evil, we destroy each other. An aggressive Malachive and his armies of Chaos will be victorious over what remains.
Outcome: We forsake our survival against Chaos by continuing warfare with our ideological enemies. Whomever wins gets obliterated by Malachive.
2. If we choose to take our fight to Chaos, what then for our ideological enemies of evil? Do we fight independently? Can we succeed independently? Do we join together?
Outcome: We forsake our ideals and join with Evil to defeat the greater threat, but live true to the Trinity. We forsake our ideological war to defeat the greater threat.
Should we take the path of the Grand Alliance, then the alliance with evil must be unconditional, with no stipulations upon the other. Knighthood must not ask Shadow to forsake their Prophecy, and Shadow not to ask Gareth to turn from their code. Any conditions will cause division, collapse and defeat.
Pro Malachive
3. Malachive has offered that the Gods have lied to us, and preaches freedom and chaos. Chaos is morally wrong to us, in a society where chaos rules, only the strong survive and our knightly code to protect the weak is not supported. Freedom of the individual and organisations is dear to us. As the son of Necrucifer and an ally of the Abhorrants one would expect him capable of lies. But what if he speaks the truth? What if the gods that we follow, which we know not to be omnipotent, use their power to enslave us to their selfish purpose? What if we were to ally with Malachive and destroy Necrucifer's ambition of submission forever. Driving away the gods of good and leaving the mortal inhabitants of Algoron to their own destinies?
Outcome: We forsake our Gods, but live true to the ideals of means justifying the ends and an end to evil. We forsake our ideals of law to further good at the expense of evil.
Let it not be said that we have not taken a considered approach to our actions. Which areas of Knighthood's code would have to evolve to make 1. and 2. acceptable? What do we need to learn of Malachive's true purpose to strike out 3. as an option? Where does our honor take us?
Corwen, Priest of Nadrik.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Star of Hope has faded from the sky, and she has fallen from the skies
leaving us without her gentle touch, her love and her gentle ebrace, which
covered not only those of light, but every living soul on Algoron, as Kadiya
never kept her gifts to herself, but shared them with all.
Those who followed the Goddess feels that of her passing, the deep pain and
the feeling of a loss, something that cannot rightly be described. And to be
honest - I am not certain if I am able to convey the feelings of those whom
followed her.
Kadiyans, you are now her legacy, her testament to the people of Algoron and
together shall we show the world that even though the Goddess is dead, her
legacy is not. The world still need your gentle voice to speak of peace, of
hope and understanding.
This is what she taught us to be, this is our moment to raise together as a
new star in heaven, a new star that will light the world with her legacy. A
light that will becon even the darkest of soul. A light that not even the
dark lord Necrucifer himself will be able to extinguish.
Followers of Kadiya,
We are alone, a solitary beacon of light in an ocean of vile darkness.
But yours is not the lonliness of fear and isolation, darkness and extinction.
It is the elevation of the undying Flame which raise above fog, cloud and rain.
Of beacons which calls to the great ships and keep the beaches shipwerck free.
Of the light across the bay which guides the seafarer home.
You carry a great responsability in your solitude, for if you let the Flame
go out,
Who else will shoulder the burden?
Who else will make the sacrifice of hope and respect for this greatest gift
we call life.
So my words to you are,
"Keep the Flame"
For those who came before us and passed it on to us.
For those who live with us today and need to stand in its glow.
for those who will come after us.
Keep the Flame.
The Flame is you and me and everyone who has ever followed her.
The Flame is those who came before us down the long millenia and left for us
what they learned.
The Flame is the promise of those who will come after us and profit and even
suffer for what we have done.
The Flame is truth.
The Flame is honour.
The Flame is duty.
The Flame is selfless service to others.
The flame is mothers and fathers, husbands, wife, children, teachers and
students.
The Flame is relationships.
The Flame is Love:
Our Love for each other, our past, and our future. It is the tiny spark of
of the Flame that lives in us all.
The Flame is death, and the knowledge that there is something greater that
awaits us on the other side of death.
The Flame is courage, faith and commitment, even though we will die.
The Flame is the pyre on which all fear dies and is consumed for eternity.
The Flame is Kadiya's Peace.
The Flame is within us as we are within the Flame.
The Flame does not belong to us,
It is not ours to change or modify.
We are its vessels, the conduits, the custodians of The Flame.
The Flame will change us, purify us, burn away what is unworthy within us.
Leaving only the best in us, what is eternal, stainless and unbending.
And once it has exposed those things, it will burnish them until you gleam
in the light of the Flame.
A beacon, a guide in the dark night of the soul for all who need it.
And if you die, keeping this flame, you will never die.
You will live on, forever, in the hearts of all who have ever seen you.

For those who have never seen it,
Keep the Flame.
For those who would never have seen it, were it not for us,
For those who have seen, but do not believe,
For those who have seen only fraudulent imitations which led them to scorn it,
For the countless souls who were defeated by their dreams,
And for those who do not yet know how to dream,
In Kadiya's name and legacy I charge you now and onto your death:
Keep the Flame.
When it is dark,
Keep the Flame
When you are weak,
Keep the Flame.
When you are afraid,
Keep the Flame.
No matter how much it hurts,
Keep the Flame.
With your last gram of strength,
Keep the Flame.
When those around you scorn and laugh at you.
Keep the Flame.
Although it may kill you,
Keep the Flame.
Even if you are the only one,
Keep the Flame.
Especially if you are the only one,
Keep the Flame.
Because you are not the only one - you will never be the only one.
But the Flame that you hold will shine out to those others who also thought
that they were alone.
And Encourage them to hold theirs stronger and higher,
And together you will save those whose Flames have gone out.
Because we belong to eachother, you and I,
Keep the Flame.
For I belong to you, and you belong to me,
United in keeping the flame that gives us Peace, Hope and Purpose.
And although our Goddess have left us,
I swear to you that were I go,
To help light our way, my only cause, my only joy, will be to
Keep the Flame, now and Forever.

Kantilles, we ask for your continued blessing of the gift of magic.
That each spell be answered in full, protection those of the Light,

Taliena, we ask that you show us Love for others that will lead us

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is with sadness that I receive the news of the death of Kadiya,
daughter to the Goddess of whom I serve.
But while a proper time of mourning shall pass, the happiness and hope has
not left Algoron. There shall always be a light to follow, and it shall
always shine against the darkness. Despite the attempts to twist the words
of those who mourn, there is no hatred in my heart, and no hatred in the
hearts of any follower of the light.
Some may steel themselves for the battle they know is ahead. As terrible as
the thought may be, it is understood that the likelihood of such ocurring is
substantial. And thus harsh words may be exchanged, and the strong wills of
both sides will clash. But hatred will only belong to one side, and it is
not that of the light.
My heart feels pity for those of the darkness, though I realize that most
may never appreciate that pity. I pity you because you refuse to understand
the great gifts of love, peace and honor. I pity that you will never feel
the gentle warmth of the touch of the goddess now gone, or the gods and
goddesses of the light that still exist. I pity that you cannot understand
our mourning, and the actual feelings and emotions that weigh upon our
hearts at the moment.
You think you understand, and you try to understand by relating our feelings
to what you would feel, to what you would only understand. But the
followers of light are not the same as the darkness, no matter how you try
to twist our words. We do not share the same understandings, and your
attempts to debase us will fail, for in the end you understand nothing of
the real truth, though you try. I pray for you, pray that you might one day
understand love and true happiness, not the mockery by which you think you
understand it, with that of mischief and the gloating of rage and revenge.
We, the followers of light, mourn now for the loss of one of our patrons.
But we have the great capacity to love, and happiness will still be in our
hearts when we have finished mourning. Your hatred and your lies will not
dismantle that which we hold dear. Woe be unto you, Darkness, for I am
afraid that you may never get the chance to understand the real truth of the
light.

The cutting word,
The sneaky attack,
That makes you need
To watch your back.
No honor there
To taint his deeds.
He does whatever
He thinks he needs.
The attempting to make
Black look white
To always appear
He is in the right.
The lies he tells
Packaged up so nice
Will always exact
A dreadful price.
As his latest
Deed is known
Preventing Kadiya
Ever returning home.
But yet his deeds
Are true to form,
Always causing chaos
And inflicting great harm.
Just like picking up
A poisonous snake,
Getting bitten is
The risk you take.
And who is to blame,
The snake or you?
For you knew quite well
What that snake would do.
And so to those
Who pattern their life
After this master
Of misery and strife,
It is not too late
To hear the call
Of a different god or goddess
Who does not harm all.

Ode to Kadiya
Alas! Such woeful news has come,
a Goddess is lost to Algoron.
The Lady of Peace treacherously slayed,
by Devion's hand the Gods' betrayed.
Kadiya was a ray of hope for those who sought peace,
in dark and shattered lands battle never will cease.
Most dwelling here face constant war abound,
bringing death to Algoron's killing grounds.
Petty differences often saw,
Algoron consumed by ceaseless war.
Wars of conquest and obliteration,
innocent souls faced annihilation.
Racial hatred shed Her tears,
different creeds brought war for years.
Good and evil fought to Her dismay,
She knew neither would hold sway.
Neither gaining the upper hand She felt much frustration,
whilst good and evil bought each other's desolation.
But Kadiya's enlightened few saw what would come,
of a world without conflict, without war's drum.
A world of prosperity to all who seek peace,
no anger, violence but a quality of life increase.
Those brave enough to make this path their own,
did not deserve now to walk it alone.
Five pillars of faith Kadiya leaves to Her flock,
Five lessons to peace for Algoron to unlock.
While we consider these paths to peace,
a thought to the Goddess whose life has now ceased.
Devotion to Her to keep Her memory alive,
that which She stood for so peace could thrive.
Unity and understanding between races and creeds,
for working together for peace is what everyone needs.
Selflessness of ourselves as we give what we can,
with giving comes Unity between kingdoms and clans.
Kindness to others with respect - is that too much to ask?
Treating them as we treat ourselves is not such a task.
Serenity is found when we have peace in our soul,
leaving conflict and stress behind ought to be everyone's goal.
As for Devion's contemptuous betrayal,
the Father of Goodness will calmly prevail.
But not of the way of murderous Fatale's hand,
nor by vengeful wrath of Mencius' evil band.
We shall mourn the passing of the Lady of Peace,
then determine how judgement is then best released.
Gareth Keep will do all to see justice met,
according to Knighthood's virtuous tenet.
Those who are come of Kadiya's mold,
Welcome then to sister Taliena's fold.
Together we grieve with you this day,
and join in empathy together in your dismay.
Then when our time of grieving is past,
we think of Her lessons before action is passed.

With the slaying of the Goddess Kadiya, it is obvious that the time of

Do not underestimate our numbers for we are more than capable of taking what

will dismantle your army soldier by soldier and your city brick by brick.
We look forward to your reply in the form of a public address.

Kind Sirs and Ladies,
Earlier this day while I was learning how to tame creatures better,
mysterious fog surrounded me and obscured my vision for a while. When it
became clear again, I was gazing out across a battlefield. All of a sudden
there was a large force coming and its presence sent chills through my body.
They were approaching a smaller force that was less prepared and still
scrambling into formation. The battle lasted only moments as the darker
side rode across the unprepared soldiers and moved on. When I walked out to
the battlefield, all of the soldiers had symbols of the Gods of Light
attached to their armor. It was a disheartening sight. I did not have time
to help any of them before the mysterious fog surrounded me again. That was
most unfortunate.
I do not know what this vision means, but I thought I would inform you, sirs

This day, I have been given a warning of divine nature. I have been given a

wearing various symbols of the Light, as they rallied to stand against the
encroaching army of darkness.
Valiantly, this army battled against a much larger, more organized darkness.
In the end of the vision, the soldiers of the light were too poorly
organized, and too few in number stave off the darkness. It claimed the
city, destroyed it, decreasing it to bodies, rubble, and plumes, and then
moved on to the next city.
We need to take this as clear warning, my friends and brothers and sisters.

To the Hand of Devion,
Since the dawn of time we of Nadrik have been at odds with those of mischief
and foul play. We believe this world to be better for men to be bound by
their word, for finding honor in themselves and other people. To do what we
know to be right by both word and action. To benefit our fellows who carry
the same belief as our own, to bring good and just law, culture and
fellowship to those of Algoron who can see past their own selves and seek
the betterment of their peers as well as themselves.
What would an Althainia under the Hand of Devion bring? Seeking a world
domination that His father would never allow? Necrucifer does not share.
Devion has not the discipline for such things. Should he be successful in
bringing Althainia under his fell boot? Not the same freedoms those of
Althainia currently enjoy. A city of freedom for all would be lost to the
opulant tyranny of a covetous few.
For those who would claim honor, the time has come to take your virtuous
words and turn them to action. Althainia has a need for the finest of
strength, morality, virtue, courage, character. This is what those of honor
who hear this call shall bring, while those of Devion will be left to skulk
and hide in their advantage of surprise.
Those who are of noble belief are ten times the worth those skulkers and
mischievous souls who bring nothing but misery to others. Those of honor
seek to make their fellowship better.

Hail,
In these ever-troubling times I have been impressed upon by the leadership
of nations. It is said that when times are at their darkest it is easiest
to understand how we are more similar than different.
In a bold and decisive stroke of leadership, the courageous Thane of the
Mountain offered peace to their ancient enemy, due to the worsening
conditions which threatened their mutual way of life. An equally visionary
and enlightened leadership of the Speaker of the Forest accepted the
arrangement, and it is left to the members of those two great nations to set
aside differences against common adversity as aligned by their leadership.
Days later, the Crown of Gareth and the Overlord of Greystoke set aside
differences to work together as a secret and sinister army appeared at their
borders. Slayers are not an evil clan, Knighthood is not a clan for
unnaturals. They considered their commonality and agreed in principle to
work together.
During this difficult time of tribulation there has been much honor shown

What interesting times we live in when a statement like "Evil threatens the
way of life of those not evil..." can be written with impunity while the
exact reverse of it holds true as well, namely that "Good threatens the way
of life of those not good." One wonders what the Deceased would think when
Peace spreads for the purpose of a quickly escalating and dare I say slightly
skewed war. Supposing the elves and dwarves can continue to keep their
differences set aside and Gareth and an organization that once saught
destruction of the metallics and angels every bit as fiercely as they
saught to destroy the chromaticss and demons can remain at peace, who really
will be facing adversity? On the side of Darkness there is Verminasia,
the relatively fledgling kingdom of Abaddon, the Knights of Storm Keep and
the Dungeon. Should all these possible alliances come through, on the side
of Light there will be Althainia, Shalonesti the kingdom, Thaxanos, Gareth,
Justice, the Slayers, Shalonesti the clan and Wargar. Remaining ostensibly
unattached to date are only Arkane, New Thalos, the Marauders, Darkonin,
Nordmaar and Ganth. It is little secret that the Highlord completely loathes
Verminasia, so while likely remaining solely on his side, he will also likely
aid an assault against the Kingdom of Darkness. Am I truly the only one
that has stopped, scratched his chin, and gone "Hmmm"? Aye Priest of Nadrik,
there is adversity, but it is not you and yours which face it, unless the
Kingdom of Light suddenly called for their guards to assault you and yours
as well as those they know had nothing to do with their recent tragedies when
all you wish to do is indulge in the vice of gambling?
One furthermore has to ask themselves why it is that the good can loftily
say they will exterminate someone for their beliefs, under the guise of
"virtue" and therefore "right", but if the "evil" wish to do the same thing
it is "wicked" and therefore "wrong". The Light desires to purify the world
for their Father's plan, which is more or less slavishly following some set
of ethics which may or may not be correct. We simply offer the option of
freedom from those ethics and that plan in exchange for another plan, one
which states people are capable of doing "wrong", and should embrace such
critical aspects of themselves rather than accepting and loving themselves
in spite of their actions, not for them.
By all means, continue to band together. Continue to ascribe blame for the
crucifixions on those unconnected. Continue victim and herd mentality of
the highest order. I in the meantime will continue to pierce veils and
attempt to see the only truth there is, tangible events devoid of high
minded idealism and threats of damnation.;

And, to the army of the Wicked, which forms about Mantaroth, or other

Self-righteous talk comes from bringing glory to yourself rather than
your god. This is a flawed way for any sincere priest to speak of their
religion. The difference is spreading the message of the Lord rather than
listening to the sound of one's own voice.
Nadrik teaches honor, which centers on doing what is right. We look within
our conscience and determine what is best. Once our word is given, that is
our bond. We seek to improve the lot of the world in this land, by
bettering its fellowship. We seek to educate those who wish to see and
understand our way. We believe this to be the best way of aspiring to act
toward.
We seek to expose those false ways of evil who would stand against us, in
particular Devion the False, whose primary purpose is not to help and grow
together, but to deceive and trick those true of heart. He does not seek to
better the world, only to laugh and profit at the expense of others.
But there is one thing we may count upon, and that is that we know His
purpose is to deceive us. Thankfully, the longer the conversation continues
the more difficult it is for the Devionite to maintain lies, whereas truth
remains ever untarnished. To look to the Tenets of Devion makes you wonder
why they were ever made public if a Devionite was to be effective. Never
trust one of Devion, no matter how silver his tongue.
This alliance which will face evil rejects the chaos of Bloodlust and the
submission of Shadow. They stand for respect for their laws and freedom for

As said, the priest of Nadrik's definition of self-righteous is a flawed way for
any sincere priest to speak of their religion. The problem is when I spread the
message of my Lord he and his characterize it as wicked while being perfectly fine
with spreading the message of theirs. The reason for its wickedness, as has been
stated time and time again, is because it is counter to the message of Nadrik,
just as, I suspect the messages of the respective Neutral deities are or will be
counter to the message of Nadrik. This leads to my definition of self-righteous,
wherein righteousness is defined by a self-containing and self-defining series of
ideas. Words like Virtue, Honor, Good, Purity, etc. etc. are not tangible things
in this world. They are ideals that one cannot taste, touch, physically feel, hear
or smell. Instead, they are things felt in the heart, and therefore subjective.
As an example of the nature of the subjective, I have been given the option of
submission to the Light or Death. I have opted to stay true to myself and my Lord
and risk death for it. Is this not honor of a kind? The priest of Nadrik's
definition of honor and where it stems from shows a true fundamental difference
between the Nadrikan and the Devionite though. The Nadrikan looks within their
conscience and determines what is best. The Devionite looks within the mind.
It is also somewhat depressing that not only an entire faith, but an entire ethos
is written off as a false way of being. My Lord's faith in particular is written
off as existing solely to laugh and profit at the expense of others, with no means
for growth. Clearly, there is a lack of understanding of my Lord's tenets, which
I did in fact make public, but only because it already found its way into the
Library of Gareth. I will repeat one of the fundamental ideas of Devionism to
show the why of it all: "Create chaos to strengthen their wits and bring the
strongest to the top." Each of the Dark Gods provides a gift, one which
strengthens an individual in the body, the mind, the spirit, so on and so forth.
For example, it is believed by the Dragothian that by surviving a disease one is
made stronger.
This leads us to perhaps the largest difference between Good and Evil. The Good
believes in submission to another's way. Do this. Don't do that. Walk this path
and no other. On the other hand Evil shows there is another option, one which
allows for choice. I believe of all the tenets of the Dark Gods the one which best
presents this to us is one of Drakkara's: "Love, but do not let it rule you. Hate,
but do not let it misguide you. Experience the full range of all this world has to
offer, but be the master of your emotions." The last part in particular shows the
divide. we seek to be the master of our emotions rather than allowing them to rule
us. What is the conscience but a part of the mortal heart? "I -feel- this is
wrong. I -feel- this is right." Anyone that has loved and lost, anyone that has
felt anger at some slight, actually, more or less everyone knows what a flimsy
thing the mortal heart is. Feelings change. The fact that there is likely at least
one divorced individual in Gareth, an organization that believes oaths are all-
important but would allow for their breaking, should more than attest to this. The
mind, on the other hand, when set on its path, is eternal.
One last thing, let us not forget we all serve our respective Lords and Ladies for
a reason. A religion is far more than can ever be summed up in a sentence or two.
It is a way of life, it is a philosophy of being, it is a reason for being. I
have mine, the priest of Nadrik has his. While it has been said by him and his
that no one should pay attention to a word out of my mouth, I have only ever said
to pay attention to -every last word- they say, and more importantly to reflect
on them.

To the Keep of Gareth and the Wrath of Justice,
It has been asked of Greystoke to see that this is a new time and requires
us to let go of old traditions that may hold us back to the war that is
coming. We have been given a reasonable request which is fair and logical,
angels and metallics are not often about. Those unnatural forces are not as
strong as those of the Darkness. Why war then when the Light is rarely
protecting those individuals and not focus on the common threat?
However, as we look to the future we must as well look into the past. It is
not unfair to say that the Light might, in sensing an imbalance, seek to
flood the realm with more divine "messengers." Where there are demons so
too have there been angels. They will return, of that I have little doubt.
And then where is our alliance? Secondly, in looking to the future, there
is a third force out there. A third force who waits and is a threat to all.
In siding with one, we in turn disregard and disrespect a force that will be
a ally in that war in the future.
Neutrality does not mean that one flips and flops depending on where the
balance needs to be. Doing so only makes us seem unreliable and
untrustable. When we act in the Lord's Honor, we respect all regardless of
aura. In respecting all we must make sacrifices even with those who would
extend the hand of friendship. In doing so we seek to maintain honor and
integrity to all faiths so that we may later on be trusted in our word.
It is therefore the decision of Greystoke that we decline the offer of
peace. This, for the first, stating war not out of a reaction from the
Light in its defense of those it is allied with but to preserve Greystokes
mission and the future of it's cause. We do this with regret and hope those
who extended the hand of friendship do not see it as a sign of disrespect.
That Greystoke will continue to hunt the unnatural of the Darkness along
side the Light should they call upon it. We realize the fight and have
given Justice terms of No Looting to preserve the Light's ability to defend
it's goals.
However lengthy this response is, it is our decision. For Greystoke,
nothing changes.

Until such time as Greystoke sees the wisdom of peace with the Metallic Wing,

Targets of common purpose, the Chromatics, Demons, Horde and

Just to clarify, you've opted to join the Light, because after declaring war
solely on Darkness Vandavar invited those in your clan and Shalonesti that
bare a red aura to the Dungeon, say the others will be fought because
they'll be at war with the Dungeon? Rather than remain a neutral force,
you've sided with someone who has written, and I quote here: "There is no
place in this world for your needless destruction your vile scourge, your
pitiful diseased hearts, shall be eradicated from this existence." That was
written by Mladen. From the Cardinal of Nadrik: "Those who serve darkness

The honor these Althanians showed in refusing to pay or leave Darkonin's

In fact the knights and a shalonesti elf came and assisted them These were

These people all claim to be good and welcoming of all. Yet again they

Honored Groups,
I have been humbled and honored to see such unity in these trying times.
Though I gave up my mantle as Sentinel of Austinian a while ago, I believe
these words may still assist those of the Light in their struggles. May the
Light shine upon those who fight with the Hope in their heart for a future
devoid of these dark days.
The Way of the Shield
One must start the way of the Shield before the Sword because the Light, by
nature,; does not seek to war or battle. It seeks to defend and uplift.
It seeks Peace and the guardianship of those who can not do so for themselves.
1.) All things begin within. Know thy soul and why you serve. This is the
foundation of service. Often you will be challenged by those of Neutrality
and Darkness. Sometimes even your fellow followers. Let not your
foundation be transparent and answer "because I have always."
2.) You are the shield, defend those who have not a shield of their own.
The young and old, the weak and the poor are your charges. If they are
faced by a challenge, be there to aid with word or deed. Let them not fall
if they have not the power to overcome their own weakness to serve the
Light.
3.) Face your fears. We all have fears, they make us mortal. For some it
is failure, others a dread beast but let not these fears take hold. True
courage is accepting them and overcoming them. They will always be a part
of you but they do not have to govern you.
4.) Understand the Pantheon of Light, He is father to them all. Seek peace
over war, love over hate. Heal those who are troubled and use your power to
protect those who are afflicted. Let your Honor be that you can be trusted
by word and deed.
5.) He has no Prophecy, strike not those of the Darkness down because they
are who they are. Necrucifer's Prophecy awaits the day he shall destroy all
those before him and lay dominion; over the world. The Light has no such
prophecy. We are not here to destroy the Darkness simply because they act i
n evil manners. We are here to defend against their attacks. Let yourself
not be governed by the sword lest you forget why it is you use it.
The way of the Sword
1.) Unsheath your blade when those you face no longer stand to reason.
When peace and words are thrown away and the monster shall not stop their
actions. Lay them low so they may know that such actions shall not be
tolerated.
2.) Never Kill when Justice can be given. Save the lives of those who face
the sword. There is no need to kill if they can be laid down and taken into
custody. Let them meet Justice and perhaps be redeemed
3.) Take life only when redeption is lost and lives must be saved. When
those souls have turned away from redeption, when it has been taken over
completely by the monster and any quarter given would be turned upon. Let
them be pitied and take no pleasure in their death.
4.) Get not accustomed to using your blade. Do not fall into the ease of
letting a soul perish upon your blade. For every life taken, ensure others
are saved. If a life is taken in vain, make amends.
5.) Do not lose your soul to grief. We all must at times, face the way of
the sword against a foe who can not be stopped otherwise. Sometimes, we
must take a life, if you have not err'd in your choice, let not that death
over take your soul. Do not let doubt enter for in the end, it shall undo
all you seek to accomplish.

Marauders,
This army has sat stagnant for far too long with no war to fight. This is
no longer the case, and all the training you have done will be tested. The
lord Raije's sister, Turpa, has fallen in battle to the godson. Enough of
the gods have fallen in result of this false deity, and it is time we put an
end to this chaos.
I, Highlord Valdaglerion Curuven, call upon all Marauders to return to the
Fort and receive your orders. You each will be assigned your rolls in the
battles to come, and each prove an invaluable part. Those who have deserted
the army may seek forgiveness of your crimes and return, but such will be
determined by situation.
For the might of the Marauder Army and the Glory to Lord Raije.

As do those who have been reassured of one strength

As do those who have learnt the lesson of humility in the face

Brothers and Sisters,
The winds stood still for an entire day, and we knew, the Lady of the Skies
is gone. Taken in the war against the Godless, She is gone. Turpa's spirit
dances the winds Her Mother now tends.
It is an emptiness we share, Her Flock. We know the rain may never feel
quite the same. We know the winds will never again carry Her laughter, Her
songs. And it is grievous. Her touch was ever so close to the world.
We mourn now, as is right. The Gods Themselves mourn, a Daughter and Sister
lost. We share this sadness, for now and for ever.
But we must follow example, Brothers and Sisters. Her Mother has taken the
winds Turpa once guided. It is necessary. It is responsibility. And we
have our own responsibilities to fulfill. Our fields and families and homes
and fiefs - these all must be cared for. It is as She would want it.
We continue, because we are still alive and because we must. Her self may
be gone, but Her spirit and grace are left behind. We must never forget the
wonders Turpa worked, and the grace with which She did.
There are no worthy words for this but Her own, spoken years ago.
Raise your eyes. Look to the skies. There you will always feel my touch.
Be it sunlight, or rain, know that I am with you.
May Her wonders last forever.
May Turpa's name always be remembered.

This is the stance of Gareth towards the principles of Malachive.
Gareth stands for Law, and the right to Self-determination. Malachive
stands for Chaos and Freedom.
Gareth Keep is governed by law. The law protects people from the actions of
others which would cause adverse affects to others. If the law is wrong,
then it needs to be reformed. We believe in the freedoms of the state and
the individual, and the laws required to keep them free. We live in hope
that those will do unto others as they would do unto you, but the law brings
the strength of accountability to those who dwell outside of the law.
In a state of chaos, there is no limit to action that one may take, and not
thought to adverse affect upon others. Society requires law to protect the
freedoms of the individual and those of the Nation. With the absence of law
those of evil, greedy, selfish and power-hungry intent will seek to
subjugate the vulnerable and the weak into submission. This leads to
anarchy, despotism, dictatorship - only the strong shall survive. Complete
freedoms from the consequence of law mean none are free.
So in fact, Chaos and Freedom lie in a state of contradiction - they cannot
co-exist. True freedom can only be maintained under the protective rule of
law.
It may mean that Malachive only means freedom from the Gods, but freedom
means a lot more than that. Gareth will always follow the path of good and
righteousness irrespective of the intent of gods. In this we have the
support of the Father, the Son and the Gods of Good.

Law and self-determination are by their very definitions contradictory.
Law is "can and cannots" imposed by some outside force, typically a government
or governing body. The law does not take into account what a person can or
cannot do in actuality but instead what the governing body believes a person
should or should not do. With the rule of Law said governing body can impose
anything it wishes, steadily shackling whoever falls under the governing body.
On the other side of the coin, self-determination offers an individual choice
to do as they wish. The person determines what they can and cannot do based
upon skill and their own personal code of should and should not rather than
a governing body's.
With that being said, let us examine what can only be termed a spectrum. On
one end is Absolute Order and on the other Absolute Chaos. Law veers toward
Order and self-determination veers towards Chaos. In between the two ends of
the spectrum is what we term life. The closer to either end of this spectrum
one gets, the less conducive to life the situation becomes. Absolute order
would not allow for life, being analogous to the complete rigidity of a stone.
This is easily recognizable in those veering towards Order. Individuality is
next to nil and they are only identifiable by the most minute of mannerisms
or, in the most extreme examples, by their name alone. Absolute Chaos is not
conducive to life because we are mortals, in bodies, and have certain needs
to sustain said bodies. In an absolute maelstrom devoid of form or function
that is not a possibility, nor is personality or even sanity.
Every religion has its shades of Order and its shades of Chaos. For any one
God to claim Chaos is patently ridiculous. It simply is. What Malachive
offers is neither Chaos nor Freedom but something already there, choice, which
He is now claiming His own. We mortals are already free to choose which of the
Gods to follow or to choose to not follow any of the Gods at all. As with any
decision there are consequences for these choices. Malachive does not offer
Chaos, which is nothing more than infinite choice, but instead a single choice,
and at that a single choice already available. What He doesn't seem to grasp
is that the vast majority of us do not serve our Lords and Ladies out of fear,
but because we want to. There is something personally gratifying about it,
something fulfilling.
The same is true of Chaos. Rather than do as we're told we must based on the
personal morality of others, some of us would prefer to do as we wish, fully
realizing that every action has a consequence whether positive or negative.
It isn't a matter of strength and weakness nor right and wrong nor good and
evil, but choice and personal responsibility in knowing that mistakes will
bring about harsh returns. Chaos, freedom, self-determination, all three
are bound by one thing - responsibility for one's self. These things are
not concerned with the well-being of others but of the self and the growth
thereof. Rather than being told "this is the way", those that veer towards
Chaos prefer to find their way by their own standards. This "way" could be
anything from how to eat dinner to how to serve one's God. The what is
irrelevant. The why is everything.

Greetings Algoron,
After reading the Deacon's words on the differences between chaos and law, I
thought it necessary to correct some inaccuracies with those words. First
is his use of self-determination.
Self-determination does not offer one choice, it -is- choice, just a
specific aspect of it. It represents those choices we make that are made
without any external influences. A crude example of this would be the
decision to eat. There is no external influence in this decision. We get
hungry, we eat.
The next point of concern is the Deacon's varied use of the term 'Chaos'. I
point this out because there are two ways to use this term: First, is to use
it as an Ethos descriptor. In such a use, Chaos would be used to describe a
state of being that is inherently at odds with those who choose to follow
the Law. Such a description seems to be used when he speaks of Law and
Chaos being on the opposite ends of a spectrum.
The other way to use the term 'Chaos' is to use it to describe a force
within the world around us. In such a case, Chaos is a combination of
confusion and disorder. It is the way one might describe something that is
both unfamiliar and unnatural to the person observing it. This is evident
in his description of 'pure chaos' as a 'maelstrom devoid of form or
function'.
In either case self-determination, as described above, does not sway toward
being Chaotic, or Lawful. After all, it is the choice of the individual to
follow the law, or not to follow it. Self-determination is nothing more
than choice devoid of exterior influence, and such choices are made by
everyone, regardless of whether they choose to follow the law or not.

Esteemed Arkanian Sage,
I believe you missed the part where I said analagous. Chaos, in and of
itself, isn't literally a maelstrom devoid of form or function but
comparable to one. To say Chaos is anything in any particular is to place
constraints upon it. The closest a mortal mind can come to conceptualizing
it would be to say it is pure potentiality. Sometimes new things arise from
it, sometimes things are torn down because of it. Everything involved is
dependent on whim and chance. More importantly, everything involved is
fleeting in the grand scheme of things.
Furthermore, both ways of using the word Chaos given by yourself are part of
the same thing. Chaos is not two, Chaos is not even one. Chaos is
potentiality, before a beginning and after an ending so in a very real way
one could say Chaos is none. The first, or "Ethos descriptor" is Chaos in
the microcosmic world, or the world of the individual. Each person is a
world unto themselves until such a time as they begin to interact with
things. The second, or "force within the world around us" is Chaos in the
macrocosmic world, or the world and universe at large.
The entire missive read like you were being contentious for the sake of it
as you actually re-made numerous points I made in my own. I said Chaos, and
therefore self-determination, is not a choice, but choice itself.
Self-determination as a concept veers toward Chaos because before the
decision is made (or before the beginning of a path) the choices are near
limitless. Once the potential is made kinetic options limit themselves
substantially. If someone opts to be Lawful they limit their options to do
as they would.
I do not propose that either option is better than the other. Order and
Chaos are both necessary and I have often described my own faith as a dance
between Control (or Order) and Chaos. Interestingly enough my last service
was on the very topic, the thesis of the service being that Chaos should not
have the stigma it's been given because a Spoiled Brat opted to suddenly
claim it as His own.

Dear Knights,
A bit of news from your very own bard.
I was attending a service to the Lord Nadrik this eve in the Temple complex
at Althainia. A solidly nice showing of the forces of Good, hosted by
Emperor Mercerion Mamoritai, now a Novitiate priest in Nadrik's church, and
Lady Corszana Snowdragon. When who did show up but old Malachive himself.
Malachive made a number of false claims about Nadrik's good will, as well as
implied we were all going to be doomed when He died. We refuted Malachive's
arguments politely, and when he realized he wasn't going to win any converts
there, he vanished in a dramatic huff.
The service went on, Lady Corszana presented a very nice sermon, I'll see
about providing a transcript in the library later.
Then there was news from Tropica: Malachive had destroyed a Church to
Taliena there, not far from the Chaos clan hall. He was not present when
scouts arrived on the scene. He was not apprehended, nor were any of the
other followers of Chaos about.
The church is now thoroughly pulverized rubble. A mark of chaos hangs in the
air by some magical illusion. The statue of the Goddess beheaded. Emperor
Mercerion Mamoritai I believe is interested in seeing it rebuilt, inquire with him
or the Church of Taliena if you would care to help.

Malachive,
Your mindless and emotive desecration of Taliena's Temple has shown that You
remain Necrucifer's Son.
You may have removed a Temple of Taliena with Your wanton destruction and
you threaten others. But faith in love or honor is not made of stone and
wood, nor does it have walls to destroy. The importance is not in the
place, but the followers.
Those who feel love and virtue will continue to meet, and share love with
those they care about and you have no power over that. In that the
daughters of Taliena will always have the support of the sons of Nadrik.
These actions say more about mindlessly following the chaotic evil path,
under the guise of freedom. And that those followers of Good or Neutrality
can but be justifiably horrified by Your act.
Corwen, High Clerist
The hellish week of events leading up to Raije, God of War, defeating Malachive
in single combat is recorded upon the scroll, "Necrucifer's Hell March" in the
History section.
I was asked to place 3 items in 3 places of my choice in tribute to my lord,
Nadrik. I thought this would be an easy task when I first heard it, but I
was wrong. This task was a very personal one to me, and it was one I put a
lot of thought into, as gifts and tributes are only as meaningful as the
sincerity which inspired them.
After much thought, I decided the first item I would give in tribute was a
tower shield. I placed this shield atop the very summit of Mount Axpvjib,
so that Lord Nadrik would have little trouble reaching it to protect him
from immediate harm. He is in such jeopardy at this moment, and I feel he
could use all the help he could possibly get. Without honor, the world has
no order. It is the very essence of humanity in my opinion, and thusly we
must do what we can to protect and defend it in all its bounty.
The second item was an ever-burning torch. I placed this torch at his
constellation, so that he could find his way home. To me, the torch
symbolizes hope and guidance. The torch will stand as a beacon, as flames
cut through all darkness. The flames of virtue cannot be extinguished as
long as there is fuel. Hope is the fuel of humanity, and it cannot be taken
from us. Some of us may lose it from time to time, but no external force
can take it. All it takes to find hope again is to find it in someone else,
and simply to believe.
For my third tribute, I decided to offer herbs and aloes to the altar of
Lady Siccara. Though Lord Nadrik will not lose his hope, he will need all
the help he can get. Hopefully Lady Siccara will be able to use these to
heal Her brother.. Hopefully from his side and not from afar, but I hold
out hope that the Lady shall do all she can for Him and for the Light.
So, I've given tribute to Lord Nadrik with a shield to protect himself, a
torch to help him guide his way home, and a tribute to Siccara, in hopes she
can reach him and restore his spirit. As long as we do all we can, no
matter how small the endeavors may seem, hope shall shine brightly. Hope is
what shall save the world, and no one can take that from us. Together we
stand united, protecting the world from its greatest enemy- Fear.

Remember this, we are not done. We must achieve victory in the next
battles. We cannot be complacent on past victories, we cannot say to

victories are in the history books, it is time now to write our own history.
Our allies came in all forms, the Dragons, friends and family, other members
of the Balance who wished to assist to tip the scales. Remember them for it
was with their blood, sweat and tears working together with us that we
achieved victory.
Even more so now, we must remain United and Vigilant for the next call.
Even more so now, we must continue to build our bonds of friendship.

we stride to the future. Remain strong my brothers and sisters.

People of Algoron,
Having borne witness to the recent battle for the Shard of Seanan, I feel it
is my duty as a cleric of Mother Zandreya to inform the world of what
transpired upon the Red Moon that evening.
The battle itself, while rather one-sided due in no small part to the
ferocity of the many Firstborn who fought for the Light, was rather one
sided. Oh as in any military conflict things didnt go perfectly as planned
and there were a high number of accidents, some of the light attacking their
allies and the such, but battles are often quite chaotic.
Many came and fought, for the Light and the Dark, those of the Balance
coming to aid whichever cause they saw fit in their own judgment. There are
plenty of witnesses on both sides to the battle itself, so Ill spare the
world that and instead focus upon what happened after the last of the forces
seeking the shard for the Darkness were vanquished.
Immediately afterwards the collected forces of the Light and their allies
fell upon the black knight who served as a guardian of an orb on the Red
Moon. There were four such knights, the others being yellow, blue and
green. Naturally the collective assumption was that by his choice of color
of clothes he must serve the dark. Well he was slain and his orb taken.
It was then it came to our attention that three of the four orbs the knights
carried were required to summon the shard of Seanan for their respective
side. So with three knights left, and no other hostiles about, two more
orbs remained to be collected.
The knights bore no aura, so were not servants of either the Light or the
Dark and were guardians of their sacred relics. Who called upon them to
perform this task remains a mystery, there really wasnt much time to speak
with them. Despite the encouragement of myself and a few others,
negotiation didnt seem to be what the leaders of the Light wanted. The
remaining knights were asked to hand over their orbs, and they refused,
naturally being distraught over the slaying of their brother in black.
Rather than attempt an actual negotiation, as we had all the time in the
world being the forces that opposed us had been vanquished, it was
immediately resolved upon to attack them and take their orbs by force at
their refusal. I protested this act of murder and banditry at the time and
was told they had "challenged" the Light to a fight for the orbs. That
seems hallow justification to me as no such challenge was given. And with
cries of "Repent! Come unto the Light! Come unto Nadrik!" The knights
were beset.
I refused to participate in the attacks, as I further advocated at least
-trying- a civilized settlement. So my participation was limited to trying
to heal the knights and prolong the battle though the numbers against them
were too great and they fell and the orbs were taken.
Austinian himself then appeared and smiled upon everyone, saying we had
delivered hope for the future and he was pleased. It does distress me that
Ive been made party to murder and banditry all in the name of freeing the
god of Honor, and the Father of Good actually smiled upon such acts.
I wish I could say it was a pleasure, but the job was accomplished and
several made it clear to me that the Light will go to whatever means to
accomplish its ends. Still the Balance was, if not restored, at least was
not toppled this day. I do wonder at what price however.
So such is what I saw upon the red moon, and is the knowledge I give to the
world as a cleric of Mother Zandreya. All may perceive and do with this
knowledge as they will, as the gift of consciousness is Her greatest gift to
us all.
Signed,
Lothaw Ka'tath
Cleric of Zandreya
Remarks on Lothaw's observations:
I believe in the chaos and noise Lothaw's perception of the events of the negotiation are somewhat incorrect. Negotiation was attempted, and for much of it we allowed Lothaw to take the lead. Others chimed in where needed with suggestions, offers, and angles to take. However, it was clear that true to Austinian's messanger's word, these guardians were of singular purpose to guard their charges. These guardians seemed unworldly, and since they were upon the red moon gives rise to the notion that they were not Knights in the sense of us mortals: having homes and families and lives and loves, but crafted beings who's only purpose was to guard the orbs they hold.
While they may well have been neutral golem-like automatons, our lack of caution used in dealing with them easily opens the door for sin. We should be more cautious in the future, and observant of the auras and natures of what we deal with. After all, Lord Gwaine d'Aggravaine's colors upon the field are red and black. Should we assume by his family's heraldry that the Champion of Nadrik is evil? What folly that would be, indeed.

Men and women of the Free kingdoms and clans of Algoron,
This day, the Day of the Moon, 7th the Month of the Heat, brought a visit
from Sir Neethan, a colleague of Lord Nadrik's messenger, Sir Lezra.
Sir Neethan came to remind us that Lord Nadrik continues his epic struggle,
and it remains in our hands to strive as hard as we possibly can to see Lord
Nadrik saved.
Even now, hope is not lost, Lord Nadrik can be rescued. It shall be your
efforts and the efforts of all those devoted to Lord Nadrik, that shall see
this happen.
I urge you all, redouble your prayers and preparations.
When the time comes, and we are called to the battle, be it with blade or
faith, on land or in spirit, let us be sure to be ready to give our utmost.
I ask all the priests and clergy of Nadrik in the realms, contact me. Let
us meet to encourage and aide each other in the work that is set before us.
To ensure that the fires of hope kindled in every honorable heart grow
higher and brighter, ready for the day that their faith shall lend our Lord
the strength needed to break the shackles that keep Him from us.

Above us now rages a Godswar between the forces of Good and Evil and
Chaos.
For this unconventional battle of the fifth shard, a win for Evil will see
the death of Nadrik, the God of Honor. Good must win all remaining contests
to save the Lord.
To those of Good I would say if you believe that there ought to be honor
upon Algoron, the hour is at hand to ride again to the cause. This is not
the last time you will be asked to do this.
To those of Balance, particularly those within Evil organizations, I would
say that this is your chance to improve balance the scales of Gods and
morality, as 6 of Evil, 5 of Neutrality and 4 of Good would tip the scales
further away from Neutral.
To those of Evil, particularly the significant proportion of you who would
claim that you follow all the principles of the Gods of Good, I would say
that if you believe in Good, Honor, Healing, Love, Peace as you profess,
then you will not strike at the divine beings who champion these virtues. I
shall leave you with the "Parable of Two Divine Councils" for your
consideration.
We all know what is at stake here. Follow your conscience. If you believe
that Honor has a place on Algoron, then I implore you to work with Brother
Kuromaru who is administering the those skilled souls who would see Nadrik
saved.

Men and women, elders and children of Algoron,
I see despair and I see anxiety. Zealots teeming with excitement as their
anxious grips eagerly await a shard. A fragment of a tool created by one
of, if not the, greatest arcane minds this realm has ever known. The
motions of mortals sway the lives of the divine, these days. Be mindful of
these events. Gratitude from the moons is subtle and nearly non-existent.
While you empty your pockets of wages you've spent lifetimes acquiring and
working for, while you fight on exotic battle fields and literally offer
your life, and while you pray upon bruised knees the gods who reside and
battle on those moons think not of you. They think of theirs and them.
They would have you offer countless lives and effort for one of theirs.
So I say this, to all those who fight for Nadrik. Have hope. Have hope
that a miracle can happen. I will pray with you, that those of "Good"
continue to acquire shards, for if any god of good can slay a god of evil,
it is Nadrik. Without Nadrik, it will be a slow going war with very few
casualties.
Shard won or not, Nadrik will live. Those of you who fight for Nadrik's
life and do not worship him, just know your god will likely be dying in his
place to save him. Perhaps you're at peace with this. It would not come to
a surprise, given all of you so willingly throw your families into this
mess.

To all of those who rallied today for Lord Nadrik, I wish to offer my
thanks. We sent in 15 players, and now three remain to do their hardest to
secure the shard. I would also like to thank all those who helped to offer
payment for the players today. While most players were already well
prepared, a few answered the call and offered their own funds to allow for
us to send in another player.
It's not yet over, we must ride on into a battle in just a weeks time. The
battle may not be a conventional one, but we must all stand strong and offer
of support to our players. Stand by them, cheer them on. Our hopes ride on
their shoulders, but we show them they are not in it alone.
May the Father's Light Shine on you all.

Followers of the Cause of Good,
The eve of the card tourney saw many gathered in common cause, all devoted
to one outcome.
The focus, unity and common purpose displayed by all present was beyond
reassuring.
What warmed most was the collegiality and attention to task that all
displayed.
Though the struggle is not ended, though another day needs fought before we
may think to rest from our exertions, I applaud all whom gave in these
struggles for the Shards, be they the battles or mind, or pledges of jeweled
egg, or indeed naval skill.
These efforts sustain us, give us hope.
d'Aggravaine, Crown.
The eve before the final tourney, a flaming sword appeared in the air in the altar room before Sir Falric and Lord Gwaine d'Aggravaine. It was the symbol of Surine'del, Seraph of Nadrik, and the sword bade them a message: "A good victory has been won, by chance rather by strength of arms. I pray, the gravity of the situation has not deminished in mortal eyes?"
There is some debate to the meaning of this message. To this historian, it appears to be a simple warning: we had three players in the tourney, a victory, but the shard was not yet won, and we still needed to pray and focus. To Sir Falric, he has taken it to be prophesy. The angel knew the outcome for the next day, and was warning us that even with two shards, we still have a long fight ahead. It is hard to say given the Dame Fyahy'll's description of the game, it appears it was very close, and that Merilith could have easily taken the match with a little fortune.
Either way, it is true: We must continue our prayers and focus. Lord Nadrik is watching over us yet, even imprisoned, and we owe it to Him to see Him freed.

The freedoms promised by the creature called Malachive are enticing.
Strength, free will, free choice. Who would not want these things?
These promises are hollow. We are born onto Algoron with these traits
intact. Each of us has our own strength. We can use our talents how we
wish. And we can, in most cases, take our talents were we wish.
There is a darker message in Malachive's promises. Freedom would come under
its conditions, and no others. We only need to look at its actions to see
how true this is.
Should Algoron have the freedom to wander and wonder? No, said Malachive,
and he destroyed Balifore.
Should Algoron have the freedom to soar above trees and dance with winds?
No, and so he purged the ariels.
Should Algoron have the freedom to run as swift as any creature? No, and so
the centaurs were oppressed.
Should the littlest people of Algoron have the freedom to explore magic?
No, and so the pixies were crushed.
Should Algoron have the freedom to live fiercely independent? No, and so
the bakali (save the one driven mad) were driven from Tropica.
The greatest threat to freedom on Algoron isn't the dogma of the Church of
Light. It isn't the balance imposed by Kwainin. And it isn't the Prophecy
of Necrucifer. It is the monster who promises lies, who offers gifts we
already have, and takes them from the people who were most free to begin.
Algoron, you are wiser than this. And that wisdom makes us stronger than
any band of terrorists. Pay no mind to their false offers. We are already
free.

Randorf may very well be the only Dwarf bold enough to enter Shalonesti.
He may also be the only dwarf who is tolerated within the Elven gates. That
is not to say his presence was welcome but nothing on this day was typical.
Randorf wanted to see the results of the elven riot with his own eyes.
To call an elven riot typical is to not to know of anything Elven at all.
They are a slow paced and modest society. Slow to act at times and far too
proud to display overly acts of aggression unless severely agitated.
However the mood in the elven kingdom had changed. For the very same reason
that mere humans seemed to lose their minds was behind today's riot. Their
sports team. The Shalonesti Quicksilver.
Randorf walked at a steady pace with his endless line of personal bodyguards
at his side. He could hear the muffled comments objecting to his presence,
but chose to ignore them. Fans were always spouting off about something it
seemed, but it was rare that the anger ever evolved into an organized
destruction of a building.
The arena itself was not typical, at least not any more. It had been burned
down.
"Ah suppose no one even tried to stop this?" Randorf asked no one in
particular. An elven woman dressed in expensive robes responded to Randorf.
"The fire was contained OUTSIDE of the stands" she said with a slight smirk.
"Ambrosse brought Chaos into this city. He put one who worships Malachive
on the team. If that is not bad enough, he publicly stated that he wished
Malachive would destroy our forests" she stated plainly.
Randorf sighed. Looking to his assistant, he gave instructions.
"Hence forth, all of thae remaining Quicksilver games will bae played in
their opponents stadiums. Next year, if Ambrosse wishes tae remain the
teams owner, he will find ah new host city, if at all possible. Hae will
also pay for any new stadium. Ah will nute bae footing thae bill for this
kind of mess."
"So you're going to allow him to keep the team??" The elven woman asked
surprisingly.
"This is nute my issue. Ah ban no mortal from competing. Ah will nute
involve myself in thae politics of this either other than to say this is ah
slightly irritating distraction during thae season. Bute thae Quicksilver
will play here no more and as of next season, they will nute carry thae
Shalonesti name. You'll have tae go tae other cities tae see the action or
get yourselves ah new team" Randorf said in an irritated tone.
Looking at the burned pile of rubble, Randorf shook his head. "I'll leave
your fine city to clean up it own mess."
Though I am normally a more pious man, I put aside my own faith in order to look more closely at the facts
that remain, as to give an unbiased answer all may view, then they may form their own opinions afterwords.
For long have I searched through the books and scrolls of several libraries and spoken with many wise and
knowledgeable lore-keepers. Out of all the histories and stories of the past I have been told, I have found
what could be said to be the greatest threat to Algoron and with this first, the second greatest threat.
The greatest threat to all of Algoron, would be the loss of the pantheons and by extension, the threat
of Malachive's Chaos the second. On many occasions in history from all corners of Algoron, the pantheons
have protected this world from several threats of many kinds, whether it is simply to protect the races
who inhabit this world or so that they themselves may rule over it themselves. The motives of the pantheons
are their own, but whatever those motives may be, it still involves having Algoron remain.
They have intervened in several different ways, such as sending their avatars or guiding a chosen champion
and many more ways which remain unseen. It is for this reason that I believe that if we were to lose our
pantheons, Algoron will soon be destroyed shortly thereafter. As to what we, as Knights, are able to do in
order to prevent the loss of our pantheons, we can only display our devotion for them through prayer, as we've
seen two cataclysms in history when faith was rather lacking, and at the times when the pantheons call
upon us to act as their hands in Algoron, when they themselves are unable to intervene directly. It is in
those two manners that we may protect our pantheons and ensure that Algoron is protected from any
threat whose purpose is solely the world's destruction.
This ties in very closely with what I believe to be the second greatest threat to Algoron, the twisted Malachive
and his Chaos. Malachive himself seeks to displace the pantheons so that he himself may rule over Algoron. His
methods of doing so may lead to Algoron's destruction, rather than him assuming control. This is so because, as
he lures followers under his misguided beliefs, he turns the prayers of those devoted to the pantheons away from
them, taking away from their power derived by faith in them. If enough mortals turn to Chaos and then in turn kill off
those who do believe in the pantheons, then Algoron shall lose their protection.
The other way Malachive is inadvertently seeking Algoron's destruction is through his own belief in chaos. If a state
of chaos truly rules in the world, there may be those whom seek the worlds destruction and will attempt it or
Malachive himself may form pacts in his attempt at conquest who will then instead use this as a chance to
simply see Algoron itself burn. It is for these reasons why we must always hound those of Chaos and seek
an end to Malachive. To allow Malachive to exist and spread his dangerous beliefs, we allow Algoron itself
to be placed in peril, so we must disprove his beliefs and stem the slow flow of those seeking to follow
his madness and all the while still actively persecuting those who already bear the stigma of Chaos. In
doing so, we keep Algoron safe from its destruction.

I am unimpressed by the nihilistic philosophy of Malachive's
following. The only reason Chaos could not be part of the pantheon
alongside the other Evil religions is because of its rejection of Unity.
Malachive is no more or less a god than his brothers, but for his upbringing
and chosen home.
The biggest "selling point" in this new-age religion is the supposed
freedom, the ability to do whatever you want to do without worry of divine
interference or retribution. In other words, you can pet a kitten one day
and then turn around the next and kill your family, and Malachive won't bat
an eye. In theory, this society of Malachive's would have no laws or rules
which would prohibit it. There would also be no laws to prohibit
retribution from other mortals, however.
In the simplest of terms, Chaos promises that if you follow Malachive, he'll
pretty much leave you alone.
Isn't that what people complain about the most, regarding the "Lunar" gods?
I've spoken to a number of priests, and the biggest concern any of them have
is that they haven't heard from their deity recently.
Regardless, all this lack of intervention can be yours for the low price
of conversion from your own god, to one who simply doesn't care enough about
you to do anything, either to help or harm. All the benefits of being an
atheist without actually giving up belief in a divine power.
I've already refuted, long before now, the assertion that we who worship
the older gods are somehow chained. I've already pointed out the difference
between service and servitude. I am already doing what I would do, what I
want to do. Not because it makes my goddess happy, but because it makes me
happy. Admittedly, given that I follow Taliena, the latter also causes the
former. But Love and Happiness would be worth devotion and pursuit even
without Taliena there to represent and spread them.
Meanwhile, Malachive promises only destruction and death. I've seen
enough of that in this world, even without his "help" in matters. He
promises the freedom to follow my heart.
Sorry, young one, but my goddess already cornered the market on that. And
She does it better.
