Victis Malory Arbiter vs. Gwaine d'Aggravaine
A classic paladin fight, and fine opening to the Tournament. There was smiting, charging, smiting, charging. Ever merciful knights of Nadrik, they agreed not to lay on hands. One outstanding point of the fight involved the two paladins smiting each other at the same moment, and then, being blind, chased after each other, causing earthquakes. The featherweight poet paladin, Gwaine, was ultimately crushed by the giant of a paladin he faced.
Lactan Bloodbane vs. Laeruh Lightcatcher
Though the kender valiantly attempted to keep Lactan blind, the mighty wemic slayer easily overpowered her.
Damerus Firebeard vs. Branzol Snowdragon
Elementals, spirits and bears, oh my! Branzol breathed like his dragon ancestors, using a figurine, and the skald and druid danced around their various summoned friends till finally Branzol fell in a very close match.
Iulh Foehammer vs. Jayl MacGregor
This skald vs. druid match was far more straight forward. Iulh pummeled Jayl quite soundly, no bears or earth elementals to ward off the dwarven axes.
Qzxauip vs. Kloengr Neiurne
Though Kloengr did his best to ambush the skald, Qzxauip's spirit was quick to rescue him. Ultimately safe from the ranger's attacks, the spears of the skald impaled the ranger.
Keninin Raij'wi Kislixinpa vs. Ramias Thurazindall
Though Keninin started with an elemental, technically disqualifying him, the fight was allowed to resolve itself. Ramias took flight, frequently gored by the minotaur opponent. There were some troubles with wrangling the elementals at the start, but as the fight took shape, Ramias proved to have better command of his. Armed with a flaming flail, he was able to toast his opponent soundly.
Victis Malory Arbiter vs. Lactan Bloodbane
Lactan's magical dragon slaying lances were brought to bear upon the good paladin's horse. Unable to dismount the four-footed furry charger from himself, Victis switched to smiting. However Lactan's bashes, charges, and lances proved overpowering. Though Lactan won the match, he was called away, and unable to finish the tournament. His clansmate, Victis, went on to champion him in the competition.
Iulh Foehammer vs. Arreana Lightwing
The stout dwarven skald effectively overpowered the lithe ariel priestess of love. Though she often had an earth elemental present, it rarely stayed between herself and the dwarf long. Arreana blinded Iulh effectivly, but in every instance the dwarf was able to escape, cancel the malediction, and quaff a new protective potion before she could engage him. Notable was Iulh's honor and respect for his opponent to stay his blade when Arreana called for quarter.
Damerus Firebeard vs. Qzxauip
For this skald battle, Qzxauip demonstrated superior command of the musical spirit skalds may summon. He pressed his attacks, keeping Damerus on the defensive. He also greenleafed the other skald quite handily, which no one ever expects.
Ramias Thurazindall vs. Afelfir Ri'flefa
A battle between two former white robes. With a diamond golem on hand, Alelfir did what Invokers do best, anti-magic shell, and chain lightning! Between the electo shock therapy, and being gored and tossed into the air, Ramias, priest of Kantilles, found little to do against the minotaur invoker, except run.
Victis Malory Arbiter vs. Iulh Foehammer
Once again Victis' warhorse bit the dust, quickly put down the dwarven battle axes. Iulh's spirit managed to keep itself between the dwarf and paladin on a number of helpful occasions. A blinding smite mid battle allowed the paladin a chance to remount but ultimately was not enough to turn the tide of the battle. Though his faithful warhorse tried to keep the paladin safe, the dwarven fist and axes proved relentless. Once again, the honorable Iulh demonstrated mercy in victory.
Qzxauip vs. Afelfir Ri'fleta
Apparently having some money on this fight, Afelfir summoned a Jeweled Egg Golem of DOOM. This seemed to serve as a chain post, but Qzxauip's flaming weapons found their furry mark far too often. Inspite of his electifiying display of magic, Afelfir was defeated in a very close match.
Victis Malory Arbiter vs. Afelfir Ri'fleta for Third Place
Once again Afelfir spared no cost and summoned two Jeweled Egg Golems of DOOM to act as a chain post, as well as summoned a stray thought to add some more confusion to the field. Victis conducted the electricity well in a true demonstration of paladin longevity, and delivered the final blow to Afelfir to win the match.
Iulh Foehammer vs. Qzxauip for Tournament Champion
A battle of the skalds! Qzxauip's spirit and feet proved nimbler than the dwarf. He pushed the dwarf to reengage, and his spirit was quicker to rescue him. Though each delivered mighty punches, in the end Qzxauip's spears delivered the final blow in a close match.
