The conversion of Drakonn Garat II

Drakonn tells you 'I am available now, Sir, if you can.'

You tell Drakonn 'Let me know when I can summon you.'

Drakonn tells you 'I am ready now.'

Drakonn arrives suddenly.

The Temple of Nadrik

[Exits: southeast ]

A marble statue in the likeness of Nadrik has been erected here.

Drakonn salutes.

You salute.

Drakonn looks at a statue of Nadrik.

You say 'Hail Seeker.'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Drakonn says 'Greetings, Father.'

Made of white marble, the statue stands twelve feet in height. Grey

marble, shaped into pieces of armor, has been overlaid on the statue. The

chiselled marble face, while not detailed, has a noble and just expression.

A statue of Nadrik is in excellent condition.

a statue of Nadrik has full magical ability.

You say 'How do you fare?'

Drakonn says 'More or less. But it's getting better every day I wake.'

You smile.

You say 'Isn't life good, when it gets better?'

You grin.

You say 'Now I fear that you have me at an advantage.'

Drakonn says 'Indeed. Life is always good thing. And I am such a lucky person I still breath.'

You say 'For I am unaware of this tale of the Silver dragon.'

Drakonn ponders.

You say 'He tried to make a city of light?'

You say 'Does that mean that there were torches burning all night?'

Drakonn says 'I remember part of the story. It was so long ago. I was Petitioner by that time I believe, or I even was Verminasian.'

You say 'Then please relate the tale.'

The Temple of Nadrik

A set of wooden double doors swing open and you step into a warm, well

lit room. On either side is a row of tall pillars, in between each set is a

sturdy wooden pew of a rich maple construct. The pillars lead up to a few

marble steps, atop which sits an altar upon a dais. Upon the altar is a

small depression, inside of which burns an eternal flame, a testament to the

everlasting light. Looking up above the altar is a tapestry of the finest

make, depicting the God of Honor, Nadrik, standing in an open and lush green

field, bedecked in shining platemail, sword at his side. His visor is

raised, showing a benevolent smile upon his face, and it almost feels like

his eyes are watching you. As you watch him, you can feel a great calm and

peace of mind wash over your body, and the whole room seems to pulse a holy

aura for a moment, before all returns to normal. Two plaques, one gold and

one silver, have been mounted at the entryway.

[Exits: southeast ]

(Red Aura) Drakonn is here.

A marble statue in the likeness of Nadrik has been erected here.

(Transcribed from a scroll delivered to Frazen Bruce from a messenger of

Nadrik upon the Day of Deception, 16th Month of the Sun.) The First Lesson

to be learned is the Lesson of Courtesy. To a follower of Nadrik, courtesy

involves more than merely following rules of ettiquette. It is also an

attitude, a way of presenting oneself to the world. A follower of Nadrik

carries himself proudly, maintains self-control, and accepts ill-mannered

behavior with grace. He follows social customs to the best of his ability.

He is polite and deferential to friends and strangers alike.

The Follower of Nadrik Must:

Consider the feelings of others and take care not to offend them. A

follower of Nadrik always demonstrates proper manners. Speak tactfully and

kindly. A follower of Nadrik never knowingly insults or slanders another

person, even his greatest enemy. If others engage in insults or slander,

the follower of Nadrik walks away.

Behave with dignity. A follower of Nadrik refrains from emotional

outbursts, excessive language, or other boorish acts.

Know now that these are as the Lord of Honor has intended, honor is not

something to be worn with convenience, it something that is meant as a way

of dealing with the self and with others. The path of honor is rigid but in

doing so one ensures his or her place in the light. One should bare no

thought that puts himself ahead of others. Should this lesson go unheeded

thy path differs from the Lord of Honor, consider it well.

Drakonn says 'I remember rumors that Kaikias was funding the building the City of Light. That kingdom was intended for ones who bear gold aura I believe.'

Drakonn says 'At least that's what I heard.'

People whom donated to the construction of this temple. Sir Frazen

Bruce. Tingvail Timeflier Arcallach MacAllen. Rheivan Madaur. Kerra

Sha'enlas. Shawne MacLeod. Soljax. Madrol. Treon Malker. The Knighthood

of Gareths Keep. Aubrianna Gunn. Sante Denaducci Victis. Vorche Vertas.

Xerion. Ingram Shui. Rolind Vindit. Tiernyn Shalonost. Greghory

MacAllen. Innis MacAllen. Vangar Silverwolfe. And two different anonymous

doners.

Drakonn says 'I don't have much else to say I fear.'

You say 'I have not heard of this.'

Drakonn nods sagely.

You say 'He is the dragon who won the lottery?'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Drakonn beams a smile.

Drakonn says 'Yes, that's what I heard. That Elder disappeared one day, I hadn't seen or heard of him for so long.'

You say 'What a peculiar concept. A dragon who plays at chance.'

You chuckle.

Drakonn beams a smile.

You say 'I had heard he had passed away.'

You say 'I believe there was some sort of service held for him.'

Drakonn ponders.

You say 'You can ask Branzol, I believe he was adopted by him.'

Drakonn says 'Isn't Sir Braznol related to him?'

You nod.

Drakonn says 'Very well, I will speak with him as soon as I will be able. It's just not clear to me why Verminasian King referred to that dragon.'

You say 'As far as I am aware, it is a complicated family.'

You say 'I imagine he was challenging the nature of Good.'

Drakonn says 'Oh, I can tell the same about my family.'

You say 'And how Good failed to build a city?'

Drakonn shakes his head.

Drakonn says 'Don't have any idea. Only heard rumors few years ago.'

You say 'What of your family Seeker?'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Drakonn says 'My father was dragon.'

Drakonn says 'I slayed him.'

You say 'Oh yes.'

You say 'Last we spoke, you sought him out.'

You say 'You have slain him recently?'

Drakonn says 'That's done by now. And I am pretty sure that one was corrupted, one of Austinian can't do things that he got done.'

You say 'We are defined by our actions after all.'

You say 'But to the priest's question, I believe there have been many attempts to build cities for good, neutrality and evil in the years go by.'

You say 'Hardly any of them have been approved, unless the Gods themselves have taken on the project.'

Drakonn says 'I am pretty sure Verminasian King has his own theory of failure because he used that as argument that I was fooled and misguided.'

You say 'Plus, the population of Algoron is lessened, I do not think that an extra city of any sort would benefit.'

You say 'Lest there be only a few souls in each one.'

You frown.

Drakonn says 'Well, it will be fun if everyone will be king of his own kingdom.'

Drakonn beams a smile.

You say 'Listen Seeker. Good, Evil, Neutrality. They all have had their lessons in success and failure.'

You chuckle at Drakonn.

Drakonn nods sagely.

You say 'A lonely if not authoritarian existence.'

Drakonn says 'Do you think people aura is determined when they born, or is it developed in time?'

You think about it.

You say 'In Algoron, someone's aura is defined from birth, as to how they think they will act.'

You say 'But as we have discussed, holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. What the Lord desires is here... '

Caenarfon taps Drakonn on the forehead.

You say '... and here ...'

Caenarfon taps Drakonn on the heart.

Drakonn nods sagely.

You say '... and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not.'

You say 'I find the position of Necrucifer's Evil confused.'

You frown.

You say 'Half seem to think that Evil is actually Good.'

Drakonn says 'I think the same, we all owners of our faith. And our actions is the only measure.'

You say 'And that the Necrucifer is some sort of benevolent and completely misunderstood.'

You say 'The other half act as if they are Evil, with the actions of one of Malice or Bloodlust.'

You say 'Which completely undermines those who believe the first half.'

You say 'I wonder why the former think the way they do.'

Drakonn says 'As one who completed study of His Way, I can find so many examples of contradictory actions by Storm Knights, indeed.'

You say 'When all of Evil points to anti-virtue, no morality and being unethical.'

You say 'Why are these people not rather followers of Good?'

You say 'As they seek to follow the principles of Good rather than Evil.'

Drakonn says 'One of their primary argument is that Algoron as it is now is rather chaotic place.'

You say 'Is that through the action of Evil or Good?'

Drakonn says 'I think it comes from existence of both.'

You say 'All Good seeks is peace and harmony within the region of the law.'

You say 'Evil will always repress, whether Good or Evil.'

You say 'You are right to say that they are naturally antagonistc.'

You say 'But put Evil in a room, and it will still kill itself.'

You say 'Put Good in a room and it will exist in peace.'

You say 'So long as those who claim to be Good follow through with their actions.'

Drakonn says 'Well, I have at least one reason to say that Prophecy vision of the world is utopic.'

Drakonn says 'Shadow is based on the principle of purity. If Prophecy will be fulfilled, human will take all leading positions, leaving other races at minor positions.'

You say 'That is hardly a way for a society to evolve on merit.'

Drakonn says 'That will provoke internal conflict soon or later.'

You say 'I think Knighthood would embrace other races if we could.'

You say 'It is wrong to exclude them for reasons of virtue.'

Drakonn says 'Well, Sentinel is good example.'

You nod.

You say 'If only there were more like him.'

You say 'Purity says, 'we are better than you'.'

You say 'I say, you who claim to be pure, prove your worth through your action, not what you were born as.'

Drakonn says 'I find it wise.'

You say 'Worry not Seeker.'

You say 'It is the duty of the Priests of Necrucifer to see you returned to their fold.'

You say 'However, as Storm Keep have sworn to see you executed, this will be hard to reconcile.'

Drakonn says 'I hope I will outlast meeting with Necrucifer should God find time for me.'

You say 'May the Lord give you strength Seeker.'

Drakonn is charged by a holy endurance.

Drakonn is protected by a holy presence.

Drakonn is blessed with a vitalizing aura.

You say 'However, I will leave the decision to you Seeker, as others might seek to force you to their path.'

Drakonn says (to You) 'Thank you for your time, Father.'

You say 'This will always be -your- decision Seeker.'

You say 'And you ought to take the decision which is best for you to make your way in this world.'

Drakonn says 'From now and on I will be master of my faith, and all my decisions will be only my own.'

You smile.

You say 'Then you have progressed Seeker.'

Drakonn smiles.

You say 'Let yourself not be lead astray.'

You say 'Challenge all you hear.'

Drakonn nods sagely.

You say 'Use your reason to come to your own decision.'

Drakonn says (to You) 'I will remember your words.'

You say 'Challenge them yourself, so you are sure they represent what you think Seeker.'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

You see a young man. He wears his hair cut to a medium length, brushed

back from his face to settle in neat, oiled waves. He has dark blue eyes

and a small, somewhat flattened nose. His figure is lithe and slender, and

has veered away from a powerful musculature and developed into the graces

that would gift the body of a dancer. While not untanned, his soft, smooth

skin is naturally pale, indicative of a life spent indoors for the most

part. He wears a black leather armor with big Necrucifer symbol engraved on

his back.

You smile.

Drakonn says (to You) 'I do not believe so. I am going back to Manor and going to meditate for a while.'

You say 'We are a Brotherhood after all.'

You say 'Walk in the way of the Lord Seeker.'

You say 'And preserve your strength for when you meet your maker.'

Drakonn nods sagely.
