Dear Knights,
Today, at the meeting of the Church of Light, a funny ball of light
appeared. Sent by Kantilles, it came with a warning to us regarding a
rising evil. This evil would take the form of some disease of the like the
world has not ever seen. We are to gather together, and unify all good
hearts against this coming evil.
Please report any unusual foulness or decay that you might see in your
travels.
It is noted that there has been activity of late by the goblins of Darkonin,
where the Monsignor of Disease makes her home - I advise keeping an eye on
them as well.

Dear Knights,
In regards to the potential coming disease:
Stop what you are doing right now and make sure you have a container of holy
water on your person! Holy water may be made by most members of the cleric
guilds, and paladins. It can also be found flowing from the fountain at the
Gray Church.
Be sure to wash in holy water if you come in contact with any strange
disease or decay. It is recommended that you approach any unusual illnesses
or care for the sick wearing very heavy robes and a scarf or other face
covering.
Should you fall ill yourself, I recommend you quarantine yourself in
Siccara's Sanctum within the Keep till our healers can cure you.
Be on the look out for any strange illness or decay of man, beast or plant.

Kantilles, the God of Good Magics has brought to us a warning of an evil
disease brewing. This disease will be like none seen before should it
come to pass, and may even affect the god born or other magical or
divine entities.
All care should be taken to root out this evil before it comes to fruit.
I ask that any suspicious activity, or strange illness or decay be
reported to your superiors, Thaydius of Siccara, Staldrache the Steel,
and or the nearest priest of a good deity.
Keep holy water on your person at all times - this has many cleansing and
healing properties. Wash your hands, or anything else that may have come
in contact with illness or foulness. Remember: cleanliness is next to
Siccaraness.

Sir Frederyk de'Troyes reports that two evenings ago he saw a massive swarm
of insects swarm out of Darkonin, filling the sky as far the eye could see.
The swarm then moved into Althainia, and then flew up into the clouds and
vanished. This all happened quickly, within the space of three or four
seconds. He says that none of the others he was with at the time noticed
it. Now, however, in light of the warning from Kantilles, it seemed worth
reporting.

Noble Order,
I write this note bearing grave news with a heavy heart. The plague has been unleashed upon the
kingdoms of Althainia, Nordmaar, Ganth, Shalonesti, Thaxanos, Arkane. The kingdoms of Darkonin,
Verminasia, Abaddon and New Thalos have been unaffected by the plague. There are many weakening and
many others dead or dying. This plague spread very quickly across the lands, originating from
Darkonin. Soon after the plague had finished spreading, an unholy light was seen shining down on
Darkonin. A small group lead by Sir Branzol of Justice, consisting of Chimnlas, Rish and myself
went there to investigate. What we discovered there was a large gathering of evil, centered around
the priest Dunnikin and the accursed Dragoth himself. In a display of his power, both Chimnlas and
Branzol were affected by the evil god's power, after a refusal to leave. Chaos attacked soon after
and during the confusion, Rish and myself escaped the growing evil. To my great regret, I failed.
I was only able to verify that Dunnikin was indeed the source of this plague before having to
escape. Despite the warning from Lord Kantilles, this plague has begun and it will take many
deaths until we see its end. May we swiftly bring this plague to an end and deliver justice for
the dreadful crime that has been committed.

Tonight, a rogue demon that thought itself strong enough to oppose Lord
Dragoth met a goblin. Both the demon and the goblin died, and from the

The demon lives no more, but the Lord Dragoth took the rotted remains of the
goblin and added His creatures -- flies... Worms... Beetles -- and raised
her up once again.

It would seem the plague we were warned of is upon us. I have not heard
anything yet of lasting effects, but we must keep up our guard. I have
created 1000 Magic Mushroom, created by the Father's Magic. If anyone seeks
freash food, that has not been tainted by disease, seek me out and I will
see that food is dispensed. I will also be keeping 1000 mushrooms at the
ready, and encourage others to stockpile as well.
I would also recommend as stated in the past, to also bless your decanters,
flasks, and barrels to make their contents holy.

Knights, I have been asked by the Lady Crown to head up a team
responsible for the logistics of keeping us prepared to fight against this
plague. As well as treat and care for those who are afflicted. As you have
hopefully already seen, I have called for Druids and Rangers to gather
herbs. But, if anyone else wants to aid as well you will all be put to good
use. We must stock up fresh food, preferably mushrooms created from our
faith. It is also important to keep stocks of clean drinking water, and
when we have it I will see it be blessed by the gods of Light as well.
Another important thing to keep on hand will be the herbs gathered by our
nature inclined brothers and sisters. But, if anyone knows of potions,
pills, wands, anything that have healing properties, I would like to see and
inspect them to decide if they can be used or not.
As before, those interested in partaking in this crucial team should contact
me with haste. Once we have the team built and in place, communication will
be key so please make sure you are able to keep accurate and detailed notes
as well as be able to communicate clearly. Knowledge of healing items or
herblife is not a requirement, so if you have doubts of your abilities to
help, fear not. But, everyone who volunteers, even those with the knowledge
of healing items will be expected to be able to run supplies to their needed
locations.

turning up. One such within Gareth, multiple larva have invested the dead,
and I fear there is no way of removing these corpses at this time. None
that I have found unfortunately, I fear also that these corpses may carry
the Plague even further, and yet fear still the Larva are a second wave of
this Plague should they turn into something more sinister.

Please remain calm. The cloud of pestilence that has been unfairly thrust
upon you is but one of the plagues Evil intends to spread. They will make
every effort to drown your hearts with hate, fear, a sense of loneliness and
despair. Their hope is that whoever this plague cannot kill will at least
be drawn to the darkness because of its terror upon the beauty of Algoron.
Know that I will do all in my power to aid you. As I have no need or want
for sleep, every hour of every day I will be cooperating with your nations

continue until I die or this blight is removed from Algoron. My ability to

Given the nature of this crisis, I am going to simply assume that these
affected nations in good standing will let me operate in their borders.
Should the leaders of these nations amend the nature of our response to this
crisis I ask that they include me in the instructions sent to their
citizens. Further, if any of these nations do not wish me to act as a
representative for my family in their lands then please tell me.
I am currently aware of six nations affected by this plague. Since travel
takes me virtually no time, I will spend four hours a day in each nation.
Without knowing how each nation has handled the response up to this point, I
will do the best I can with whatever the guards highlight. Until we have an
area for all the infected, I will assist in moving and establishing these
quarantine zones where care can be given.
Without an understanding of how far this plague reaches, I encourage all
nations to investigate nearby towns and settlements. If Fort Ironclad is
infected, the Highlord will need to lift the ban on my entrance before I am
able to grant any assistance. If the continent of Shokono is infected, I
will be unable to travel there by magic. Alternate forms of aid will be
necessary.

On establishing care centers
The infected need to be taken away from the general population. I do not
recommend the local temple be used for this purpose, a low-traffic area that
is easily fortified is best. This area should be large enough to shelter
the infected and volunteers need to be found to feed, bathe and care for the
infected. Guards should be posted at the entrance to all of these care
centers and their locations should be shared with me. How security is
handled at these checkpoints is up to your nation's military.
Local watch should form teams of two and scan the city for infected or
deceased. Infected should be identified and taken to the care center. Do
not take uninfected. The dead should be given rites if your culture has any
such things, if not then the bodies should be assembled in one place. I
will purify and process the dead personally. Watch that come into contact
with the infected should wash constantly and avoid contact with uninfected
while on these duties. Guards that move the dead should burn their clothes
and wash thoroughly. Do not send guards with open wounds, cuts, infections
or health issues to either move the infected or dead.
These centers should ideally have beds, blankets and food. A fire in colder
regions will help the infected rest. Those who care for the infected need
to keep a positive attitude. If you wish to volunteer, but cannot foster a
positive environment for those suffering from this plague then you should
find different duties. Take every step possible to keep your cities and
people clean. Move bodies from the streets and wash the infected, their
bedding and clothing daily.
I will not make any efforts to impose segregation on how you handle your
infected. It is the decision of each nation to take or deny individuals by
race, religion or otherwise. The tenets of my Mother deny her healing to
those who do not accept her as its source. Regrettable as it may be, I
cannot offer her light to all. Those who follow Necrucifer, his wife or his
children will be given an opportunity to change heart but if they do not
they may serve their God or Goddess dutifully by rotting from their
creation.

and around the city of Althainia. Taking her advice, I then proceeded to
inspect Gareth for any signs of further fallen. After finding no new
bodies, I then proceeded to Althainia. After finding examining the bodies,
we then proceeded to the Gray Church. There are more afflicted gathering
within. I hope that this plague can be brought to a swift end to prevent
further lives lost.

I call to all citizens to be wary. More corpses have fallen on the
city's streets. As of now they are located within the western gates, market
square, the temple of the gods and Crown street just outside the castle
walls. Be ever diligent in precautionary measures and avoid the corpses as
best you can. If you are part of the removal crew, wear protective clothing
and gloves. I have dug a hole at the dump where you may burn these items
when you have finished.
In regards to the tree at the high priest, I have been informed it is that
of the Eldritch. Until this is confirmed, please also avoid it.

It seems that many of the common folk have become stricken with the
Plague. You have doubtless seen missives from many important people and you
may be confused as to what to do.
I offer you simple words to encourage you not to stray from the path of
goodness. Suffering is something that all of us go through. The path that
we take in doing good acts is not always easy, but it is right. And so it
is now. We are being targeted by a vicious assault from a goblin and her
god in some sick attempt at an unholy cleansing, in the hope that the weak
will perish and the strong will turn to evil.
Heed not these calls, for you are called to a much greater purpose. What
Dragoth has wrought I am confident that Siccara can cleanse. If you are
sick, seek out your nearest Church or temple. Already we are training more
healers, providing more supplies, and offering prayers.
We may not have a cure, but we are lessening suffering. We can halt the
progress of this plague and give Siccara time to grant us the wisdom and
strength to see it eradicated entirely. Have faith and know that your faith
will be rewarded.
Some of you have already lost loved ones. More will likely lose in this
battle. Do not suffer in your grief alone, for all of our healers are
trained to help counsel you in these times. Loss is a part of suffering,
and such things are a part of this life no matter what side you are on.
Evil cannot shelter you from pain or distress. They encourage it, inflict
it, use it to weed out the less desirable from their ranks.
While we cannot prevent it entirely, those of goodness will continue to
fight back against the suffering. We will not meekly step aside. We will
stand up, rise, and become stronger for it.
We depend on you.
You who have suffered will help lead the rest of us when all of this is
over. Your experiences will shape your perspectives and give you wisdom and
insight that will be fundamental in building the better world we envision.
What seems hopeless now will become something else entirely.

As Bishop Caenarfon Corwen has noted, there is a deity that works to undo
suffering and illness. That is Siccara, the Goddess of Healing. This
plague will be cured as all other plagues which Dragoth and his vile
followers have introduced before. It will be cured by the hard working
healers of the lands, utilizing the methods and principles Siccara teaches
us. When it is cured, all sane people of the world will breathe a sigh of
relief. For it is obvious to any observer of disease that Dragoth has a
gluttonous nature, and his foul works would spread and consume everyone,
including his own, if left unchecked.
I will continue to work with and aid healers and researchers looking for a
cure to this disease. If you are doing so, please contact me with your
findings, that we may all share our knowledge and bring an end to this foul
plague all the sooner.

Caenarfon: Sincere acceptance of Dragoth's gift

I can not begin to understand the High Priest would ever desire Dragoth's
"gift" of pestilence removed from her person, the blessing that it is.
If I was sincere and took His gift both gladly and willingly that I would
wish this gift of pestilence removed - I ought to be prepared to submit to
disease and premature death. Why would I wish Dragoth to remove his
precious gift, His blessing of disease and decay?
I cannot fathom why anyone would ever be sincere in this. But it does make
a difference clear between a Good Siccara and an Evil Dragoth.
All that come before Siccara seeking cures to Dragoth's diseases and decay
shall be cured - be you Evil or Good - Siccara will heal you.
Dragoth holds the sick hostage with His Evil disease and decay, He says,
"Follow Me and I will remove the gift of pestilence I have blessed you
with."
As a priest of Good, I would wish that he kept His "blessings" to those who
would accept them such as the High Priest.

Children of the Blessed Mother Zandreya,
Two evenings ago, I was blessed with a message from the Mother. She tasked
me with learning a lesson which I believe all of us need pay heed to now
more than ever. The lesson is simple, but the implications are large.
Regardless of your path - be in the light, the twilight, or the darkness;
There is wisdom here which you must take care to remember and to dwell on,
for only when contextualized in your own life will it mean anything.
We must always remember that our lives are for Her. We cannot simply claim
to be Her children and to follow Her lessons by repeating them and then
disregarding them. We must venerate Her in all that we do. We must be
willing to sacrifice for Her, we must be willing to remember our place in
the cycle of nature.
Recently, a High Priestess of Dragoth was named. A very special Goblinkin
who, regardless of your view on her faith, is to be admired and learned
from. For it is through her trials, and her faith in her lord, that she has
become the paragon of what it means to be faithful. Ask yourselves each
day, if you remember why you pray to the Mother. Ask yourselves each day if
your actions keep Her lessons in your mind. Ask yourselves each day if you
have Her will and the words of Her clergy in your heart. If you cannot
answer yes to these questions, then you must repent.
It does not matter where you reside, nor what your views of me might be - I
implore you to take these words and think on them. If you will not speak to
me, then speak to another of Her clergy. Celebrate Her in your own way, but
DO celebrate Her. For it is in Her cycle which we find ourselves.
As always, I welcome those who would speak with me about the Mother. I only
pray that Her patience is great and that all of us have the time to meditate
once again on not only Her lessons, but the lessons we might learn from
others - regardless of their faith.
May She keep you.

More corpses as seen before have appeared at the Temple steps and Market
square. I have scouted the city and see no others yet. Hopefully this
means a slowing of the plague. However, complacency must not enter our
thoughts and deeds. We have been strong in the face of these troubling
times. I am proud of this great city, and all of its people. Let us lift
our voices in prayer and continue to show that we as a people will not fall
to such darkness.

Allies and fellow citizens,
This day, Benthic and I had the pleasure of meeting an old knight of the
lance. As he sat at the temple square resting from his time at the front we
discussed the plague we are all faced with. The old knight bade us tell him
where the disease had come from. When we replied it was the evil priestess
Dunnican and her dark lord, he gave us his advice.
He shared with us a story of his childhood. As a boy he would often help in
the orchard, digging up old trees to plant new ones. He noted how when one
attempts to replace the dirt again, there were always rocks for one cannot
put them back exactly as they once were.. Without quite a bit of tapping.
We asked if he might believe this plague may be reversed or somehow removed
completely. To this he asked, how would one place rocks back into a hole
completely. When I replied I didn't know, he responded with his advice.
"Think it over and ask those around you who may know. It came from
somewhere, it can and certainly should go back sometimes at great risk and
sacrifice. Effort to bring it for was great, youd think so too would be
the effort needed to defeat it.
And so, my friends, as the old crusader took his leave I considered his
words. This is a call to action. An encouragement to not give up but to be
ever vigilant. For although this crusader was old and weary he left us to
return to the front for his lord Nadrik. May we all consider his wise words
and unite in what must be done next.

Another wave of outbreaks hits affected nations,
Extend watch patrols into alleyways and lesser travelled paths to ensure
that any infected are being cleaned from the streets. Attendants without
other duties might serve well as improvised seekers, searching through
unused streets and in other uncommon areas. Check the status of any water
that is open for public use, remove any sources of standing water as it has
a good chance of becoming unsanitary and watch for rotted wood or ruined
cloth for signs of pestilence.
Do not take search measures as an opportunity to impede upon the privacy of
citizens unless you are given permission from the leader of your nation.
Diligence does not mean disregard for others. Check bedding at all local
taverns, hotels and other rest points. Check food at all local restaurants,
shops and so forth. Purify, decontaminate or destroy anything that can be
confirmed as infecting others. Replace or reimburse for any damages you
cause while doing so, it may seem silly to have to pay for a cloth or a
table but wealth is not so abundant among the common.
In addition to treating infected, I will be examining local fountains and
other inlets. As time permits, I will travel to outlying villages and check
on the farms producing the food brought into the cities. Please move and
treat as many infected as you can. I understand that mortals have
difficulty removing the plague, but at least ensure that they are in good
condition and I will be around daily to heal those the watch have found.

of your own masters who revels simply in the suffering of its followers, who

souls tortured to the brink of death and met only with slavery on the other
side, prisoners of your beliefs in false Gods.
Repent and take arms against this injustice.
Your so-called Idol of Healing has done nothing, has not spared this world
from the clutches of the Plaguemaster, and in its short-sightedness, would
not extend its favor to those who would claim an ideal different than that
of the supposed forces of Light.

Today, at prayer time, I spoke on a lesson that I found in the scrolls and
missives about the plague of late.
The priest of Zandreya, Kaelowyth, cruel and twisted as he is, made a point:
that the High Priestess of Dragoth is, whatever you have to say about her, very,
very faithful and dutiful to her vile Lord.
She's done a lot of work sowing the seeds of evil and disease into the world.
This can't be denied.
The Knight of the Lance who visited Althainia the other eve spoke of a metaphor
about digging holes and having to put something back in them to fill them back
up.
Through the extraordinary evil actions and faith of the High Priestess of
disease, we got this plague. It will take actions no less extraordinary, and
faith no less devoted to end this plague.
This we must do ourselves. We all must say our prayers, do our duties, and
serve our gods of Good better than a High Priest to over come this evil.
That may sound like a tall order: to be more zealous, learned and faithful than
a High Priest. Yet, remember: Dragoth is a lousy god with terrible gifts that
no one really wants. If one goblin is willing to do so much for Him, us doing
that much more for Honor, Healing, Love, and overall Goodness in the world should
not truly be much of a chore.
That is what I urge you all today. Say your prayers, work hard, and we'll over
come this plague. Thank you for all the work you have all done to keep the
plague under control. With Siccara's grace we will find a cure. Pray and seek
Her guidance with more zeal and joy than a certain goblin, and we will have a
real and true gift to share with the world that is worth giving.

These are the tools of fear, causing pain and suffering against innocence.
Causing unspeakable and painful deaths. For what cause? For a vain and

Such things are not worthy of worshiping. Such monstrosities are not not
with which a kind and good God blesses his children.
Evil. Yes, I call it evil for that is what it is, in fact it is the most
base form of it.
Goodness will triumph over evil. Fear is a momentary tool and difficult to
wield to one's purpose. Far better love, goodness, kindness, the light

Children of Zandreya,
Again this evening I was visited by the Mother, and was asked to think on
what I've learned. I can only pray that last missive has found some place
in your minds, and that the lesson contained therein has sparked your faith.
With this missive, I write to you with another observation and a veneration
of Her name and the world we live in.
A plague is like any other grave illness. It weakens those who contract it,
it causes great pain and suffering, and eventually death. The blight is
passed from person to person, starting with one and exponentially growing.
But one need only look at this plague's source to see a plain and simple
truth - the goblin Dunnikin died and was reborn. Her lord provided for her
and from that was born this plague. Likewise, this plague will kill and
kill and kill, but in the end there will be reprieve.
When that time comes, there will be corpses and carrion. The bodies will
decompose where they are buried or have fallen, and the earth will reclaim
them. From those sites new life will grow - as wondrous and with every
right to live as the life that preceded it. As the wildfire sweeps the
forest with too much scrub and brush, cleansing it and healing the land to
give way to new life, so too can a disease. Do not look upon this plague
and despair. Look upon it and try to understand it.
The Mother's greatest gift to you as Her children, is consciousness. You
may look at these events as you wish and decide for yourself. I ask and
pray only that you do so with wisdom and patience. Do not be so rash to
condemn a miracle, no matter its nature. Do not be so rash as to call
something 'wrong' when it has its place in the world. Remember that She
exists in all that we see and do. Give praise unto Her and keep Her lessons
in your mind.

Regardless of whether or not duty or fate permits your presence at this
occasion, your prayers, support and strength are still needed. Even if you
are not one of the sages selected for the ritual, your prayers and presence

to gather to aid in this endeavor.

The Eldest Son has delivered a message from the White Moon. My family
wishes to help us battle the plague through the usage of a mysterious
ritual. In order to ensure its success, we must gather as many Paragons of
the Light as is possible. The more we have, the stronger the energy we will
create and the better our chance of overcoming the plague.
As I am not as well-versed in knowledge of Algoron as others, please pass

Light. My Uncle has demanded that we meet for this ritual at nine bells

Icewall at the Church of Light. There, we may finally end the suffering

Dear Knights, and Friends in Siccara,
Later in the eve of this Day of the Dead the forces of Good will gather in
the Church of Light on Icewall to conduct a ritual to cure this plague. All
sages, prophets, and devout should stand ready with prayers to aid. We
should also muster as many Knights as we can, for the above reasons, and to
make sure the above are kept safe to complete their ritual.
Unfortunately I am traveling this weekend, and there will be no way I can
reach the Church on time. I don't know many rituals, anyhow, however, just
in case, I've made twenty-four holy beers and put them in our rack.
Twenty-four is an auspicious number for holy beer, and should be able to
combat most evils a bard encounters. Feel free to take them to the ritual
in case you have need.
Please note: These holy beers in the rack are for medicinal or world saving
purposes only! Please drink responsibly!

The Ritual
Kantilles' avatar asked that the gathered good peoples nominate one among them as a beacon of Light. The ariel, Lady Leotie Shiroken of Althainia was nominated and stepped forward to do the ritual willingly. The ritual drained the goodness and purity of her soul to cleanse the lands of the plague. A beam of light radiated out from her from the Temple on Icewall and spread all over the world. It then drew back into her. Kantilles, who aided, turned her wings an angelic white. She was left exhausted and confused from the ordeal. The ritual was a success, and the plague was purged from the world.

This past Day of the Dead, those of goodness stood once more together to
achieve something great, and necessary, for our world. We removed the
terrible blight of an unnatural plague. There will still be diseases, and
we will still work with those who are ill as we always do. But, for now, we
don't have to worry about the ravaging of a super plague in our midst.
The gathering was not made without mistakes. Some were forgotten, others
half-forgotten. In any case, feelings were stung and sharp words thrown at
one another. In spite of this, we came together.
It was a marvelous thing.
I hope that any lingering wounds may be mended, for we will certainly need
one another soon enough. Evil is still working together, still planing and
scheming to shift the balance of our world in their favor. While those of
goodness struggle to retrieve Nadrik from his peril, evil seeks to make the
most of their advantage and we must be ready to thwart them at every turn.
I am so proud of the things we have accomplished together.
I also thank all of those who have aided me in my recovery in some way.
There are too many to name, though Damian Nitebane and Syrlarrialth were
ever constants. I also need to thank the Great Steel Aetheonyc and my
brother Kuromaru, who allowed me space in their lair as I rested. Also to
Thaydius, born of Siccara who helped give me back some of the energy I once
had.
There are many others who visited me, and have helped me, but I would have
an entire missive worth of names were I to thank you all. However, know
that in my heart I know who you are, and if I see you, I will give you the
utmost of my gratitude as you deserve.
I am still fighting to recover my memories, or to make new ones, whatever is
left to me after the ritual. If I must discover what it means to be happy
all over again, then I will do that.
I have no intention of giving up, and neither should you. Together we will
stand.
