Divine Truth

Datai says (to You) 'Yah have a benediction for us today, Father?'

You say 'What is a good topic for today?'

Datai says (to You) 'The Squire as started us out with seeking truth.'

You say 'Ah, truth.'

You say 'One of the Three Principles.'

You say 'Together, our eight virtues are made of truth, love and courage.'

You say 'What are your thoughts on Truth Squire?'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Aequitas says 'A sentence "P" is true if and only if P.'

Aequitas says 'That definition is neither circular nor trivial'

You say 'Ah, you seek to find truth from logic squire?'

Aequitas ponders.

Aequitas says 'That is how I would define the word true'

Datai grins brightly at Aequitas and you.

You say 'Ah, if only Algoron was so.'

You say 'We standing here, submit ourselves to faith rather than logic.'

Aequitas nods.

You say 'The inner workings of divine, the whim of our Lord, and his brothers, sisters and enemies.'

You say 'What is truth one day, becomes undone the next day if it it the whim of the Gods.'

You say 'Any reasoning we mortals might put to them is for naught.'

You say 'We must follow our Lord, because of faith, faith in Him to do what is right, or believe what He needs to do from one day to the next.'

You say 'As logic is a creation of mortals, the rules which tightly bind us.'

You say 'The Gods have no rules, and may follow where their whims take them.'

Aequitas says 'I do not know if logic is created by mortals.'

Datai ponders.

Aequitas says 'I would think it is inherantly part of Algoron, as created by the Gods themselves'

You say 'Created by the Gods for mortals?'

Aequitas ponders.

Aequitas says 'As much as the lands and seas were created for mortals'

Aequitas stands up.

Datai says 'We are limited compared to the Gods, so I reckon it could be some form of form for us so we can work within the world they made?'

You say 'Perhaps.'

You smile.

You say 'I do not know.'

Aequitas says 'In any event, we must hold fast to our faith above all else'

You say (to Datai) 'But a true knight quests for Truth does he not?'

You say 'A light to guide us.'

Datai says 'Well I reckon what our gods made, and why is what is true. We quest for truth, and will find the answers in our faith to our Gods.'

You say 'And what if the truth we seek is not as we expect it?'

You say 'What if the Lord we serve we find to be unjust?'

You say 'What if the Lady we have striven for is dishonest?'

Aequitas says 'Some sentences are true, but cannot be known for certain, and require faith.'

Datai says (to You) 'Sometimes what we precieve as unfair or unjust isn't. It just isn't how we'd want it to be. We may not know the whole situation that our God knows.'

You say 'So is Truth confused by our perception of it?'

Datai says (to You) 'If I'm hanging out in a field of flowers, happily watching a bee, and all of the sudden Siccara comes down and crushes it... I might be disturbed.'

Tgokd tells you 'Would you lend your services to remove a curse from a lich? '

You say 'How shall we know what the truth is if we cannot believe our eyes?'

[47 Goblin Thi] Tgokd Xkom

Datai says (to You) 'But then She may reveal afterwards it was a tainted bee with a strange poison for a sting that would kill many.'

You tell Tgokd 'If you are not a follower of Evil.'

Datai says (to You) 'In which case it was a good thing she stepped on it.'

Tgokd tells you 'I am not'

You tell Tgokd 'Where are you?'

Aequitas says 'We cannot know that what we believe is true. That is what makes it faith'

Tgokd tells you 'The entrance to Gahboom Hill'

Datai says (to You) 'Whatcha up to, Father?'

You say 'A curse.'

Datai says (to You) 'Ahah'

You say 'We must rely on our faith where Truth cannot be found.'

Datai says 'There yah go, Father.'

A Small Alley

[Exits: north east west ]

Tgokd is here.

Tgokd bows.

You salute.

You say 'What are you affected by?'

Tgokd says 'Wither'

Tgokd looks much younger and vital now.

Tgokd gasps.

Tgokd is blessed with a vitalizing aura.

You say 'Farewell.'

Tgokd bows.

You say 'Unless there is more I might aid you with?'

Tgokd says 'Thank you'

Datai says (to You) 'Uncursed, Father?'

You say 'A disease.'

Datai says (to You) 'Ew!'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Datai says (to You) 'No worries, Father.'

Datai says (to You) 'Glad yah took care of that before it spread.'

Datai says 'So, where were we?'

You think about it.

You say 'Truth.'

Datai says 'Yah know, I don't think I have any songs about logic.'

Datai grins wryly.

Datai says 'So how about something about Siccara, instead?'

Datai chuckles merrily.

Datai starts to tune her lute slowly twisting the pegs, and plucking the strings.

Datai strums a rich string of chords, and starts to sing:

Datai says 'Song of healing, blessed and true,'

Datai says 'Drink deep Goodness' strength,'

Datai says 'Overflowing power to renew,'

Datai says 'Hold fast for any length,'

Datai says 'Never falter, never break,'

Datai says 'Healer, our stand we make.'

Datai says 'Song of healing, from one, two,'

Datai says 'My comrades I stand beside,'

Datai says 'With them hope is in view,'

Datai says 'Healed, again they ride,'

Datai says 'Never fear, never forsake,'

Datai says 'Healer our stand we make.'

Datai says 'Song of healing, faith in you,'

Datai says 'Music to guide our way,'

Datai says 'Sing from battle to pew,'

Datai says 'To gentle matron we pray,'

Datai says 'The spark of hope will wake,'

Datai says 'Healer, our stand we make.'

Datai says 'Song of healing, blessed and true,'

Datai says 'Restore those who fell,'

Datai says 'Hope that none will eschew,'

Datai says 'Siccara's pure well,'

Datai says 'Ring strong victory bell,'

Datai says 'In Her heart we dwell,'

Datai says 'Never falter, never break,'

Datai says 'Healer, our stand we make.'

Datai smiles and strums a few last ascending chords.

You smile at Datai.

Datai says 'And there we go, thank yah both for yer thoughtful prayers and discussion!'

Caenarfon puts his arms into the folds of his robes.

Aequitas disappears into the void.
