The Stairwell

These stairs wind up the tower of Misery Keep. They are steep and wide,

made of the same granite as the walls.

[Exits: northwest ]

(Translucent) (Golden Aura) (White Aura) Darcey is here.

(Translucent) (Golden Aura) (White Aura) Rish is here.

(Translucent) (Golden Aura) (White Aura) Krecks is here.

Branzol tips his head forward slightly in respect to you.

Darcey tells the group 'form with the wrath, or do we keep our honor?'

Krecks tells the group 'Honor'

Branzol joins your group.

Rish joins your group.

Darcey clans 'I suppose that is the answer to that.'

Branzol tells the group 'we'll stay behind '

Branzol tells the group 'did iladel get you here?'

You tell the group 'We saw him not.'

Datai says 'Ah, hullo, fancy meeting yah all here.'

Krecks clans 'Sir, I'm leaving the area.'

Rish smiles at Datai.

Rish says 'Fancy indeed!'

You clan 'This is time for reconcilliation.'

Krecks clans 'I do not form with those who act dishonorably.'

Darcey tells the group 'at our stone.'

Branzol tells the group 'Go ahead and take misery'

Krecks clans 'I apologize.'

Branzol tells the group 'we'll watch your backs'

Darcey tells the group 'going'

Branzol tells the group 'Or try to atleast.'

Krecks stops following you.

The Lord of Misery Keep's Throne Room

[Exits: ]

(Translucent) (Golden Aura) (White Aura) Darcey is here, fighting the Misery Keep Lord.

(White Aura) the Misery Keep Lord is here, fighting Darcey.

Datai has arrived.

Krecks clans 'I'll enter and help beat on the Lord.'

The Misery Keep Lord has some big nasty wounds and scratches.

Branzol tells the group 'maybe we should help'

Branzol tells the group 'lets go in rish'

Rish tells the group 'mm k'

Krecks frowns.

Branzol has arrived.

Rish has arrived.

The Misery Keep Lord has some big nasty wounds and scratches.

Branzol rescues Darcey!

Krecks prays for transportation!

Krecks disappears.

Justice has conquered Misery Keep!

Darcey tells the group 'so much for us taking misery.'

You tell the group 'The enemy no longer has it.'

You tell the group 'We are allies here.'

Krecks tells you 'Sorry, Father. But Lord Crown, himself, assured me some time ago that refusing to form with the Wrath would -never- earn a dressing down.'

Darcey says 'Father, I would like to disagree with your statement.'

You say (to Krecks) 'What is your concern about joining them to do good?'

Darcey says 'Respectfully of course.'

You say 'We are all entitled to our opinions.'

You say 'Let us hear them.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I don't work with those whose honor is questionable.'

Branzol tells the group 'I think we should leave the formation Rish.'

Branzol tells the group 'Lets regroup.'

Rish tells the group 'Yessir'

You tell the group 'Farewell.'

Branzol stops following you.

Rish stops following you.

Darcey says 'Aye, there is a rather large difference between allies, and at peace father.'

Krecks chuckles.

Darcey says 'Allies share wars, something we do not with the wrath.'

You say 'Not all allies share wars.'

Darcey says 'We are at peace, and indeed often work together, but I feel ally is to strong a word.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'Oh, I don't need it to be a big deal, or anything!'

You say 'We shares ends, but only Gareth cares for the means.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'Just my personal choice.'

Falric says 'Ally's the closest thing, even if we're not happy all the time to call it that.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'And I'll stand beside it through and through.'

Darcey says 'I don't disagree with the sentiment, simply the word used, I feel ally is far to strong, for example'

Darcey says 'Are we allies with the vallen?'

You say 'They are our allies against evil.'

Falric agrees with you.

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Yet evil roams their halls, Sir.'

You say 'And although I am out of touch with current events, in that situation, there was only one enemy.'

Datai says 'Being rude to those who help us is not correct or Knightly either. They were there.'

Darcey says 'They can be our partners against evil, but not ally, should they call us to war, we do not march with them. We are held to a higher ground.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'i wasn't going to be rude, Ma'am.'

Darcey agrees with Datai.

You say 'But we do not stuff the higher ground down their throats.'

Darcey says 'Simply the word ally I feel is too strong dame.'

You say 'They are good.'

Darcey says 'Some of them are.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Not according to them.'

Darcey says 'There is much that is not good in their halls father.'

You say 'We go in the same direction, but we take a different path.'

Falric says (to Darcey) 'And the ones who are not are loyal to their Speaker, I think.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'To QUOTE their executor... "The Wrath serves war."'

Falric says (to Darcey) 'That Speaker who is, quite often, sharing our opinions.'

Darcey says (to Falric) 'I believe we still speak of the wrath.'

Falric says (to Darcey) 'Sorry, I get confused. It's late.'

Darcey says 'although I do agree with you on teh vallen.'

Darcey chuckles.

Falric chuckles sheepishly.

You say 'I don't think either Shalonesti or Justice ought to be measured by their current foolishness.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I'm not measuring anyone....'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'Not in -that- sense.'

Falric says 'Been deep in study with Lady Massadah all day, hearing voices is almost new to me.'

You say 'In my opinion both sides are being absurd, and they ought to have come to a common understanding long ago.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I simply will not party with those who do not care for the means, as well.'

Darcey says (to You) 'While such would be wise, how can e not judge them on their actions, if a man claims to love a woman, yet slays her in cold blood, how are we to act?'

Falric says (to You) 'Well, sir, their large cat is being pig-headed about sending the hounds into the forest, sir.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'By that logic...it would be alright to group with Merilith, to take the keep from the Conclave.'

You say 'But that is the point, this has escalated beyond all reason.'

Darcey says 'we have strayed far from what I brought up now.'

You say 'Well there are two sides at work here.'

You say 'One, we all must be held to account for our personal honor.'

Darcey says 'An ally shares all wars and peaces, we do not with the wrath'

You say 'And the consequences of taking as such.'

You say 'Second, when we are in war, you will follow orders.'

You say 'Or we will all die together in a cacophony of error.'

Darcey says 'I was unaware there was an order given...sir.'

Datai says 'The Father was leading the group, and is the ranking officer, and in charge of all decisions.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'Nor I, but I also brought this issue up to Lord Crown many many moons ago, when I was more active.'

You say 'But you agree in principle that knights ought to work together.'

Darcey nods at you.

You say 'We have sworn an oath to protect this keep with its Brothers and Sisters.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'And I was reassured that so long as I was not overtly disrespectful...choosing to leave a party that houses those I find questionable...'

Darcey says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Which brings another point to mind'

Krecks says in a deep voice '...would -never- earn a dressing down./'

You say 'To uproot and leave endangered those who remained within.'

You say 'If an enemy had come and slain your brothers and sisters, would you have considered your oath fulfilled?'

Falric says 'Please, everyone, settle down.'

Darcey says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'What do you do should you find the ranking officer, not done in this case father, gives an order that personal honor can not allow?'

You say 'I would return to your oath Sister Darcey, what have you sworn?'

Darcey says 'To protect those of the light.'

You say 'To protect those of Good.'

Darcey says 'Yes, but while physical protection is quite important, I would wager, not at the cost of spiritual.'

You say 'Does your personal honor come before that of the Keep?'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Many times in the history of the Wrath...knights have been FORBIDDEN to form with them for this reason or that, Father. I personally do not wish to form with those who have lied, stolen from, and betrayed this very Keep.'

You say 'Or does that military organization of Gareth come first?'

Darcey says 'By the same set of mind, would that of the ranking officer, who is in the wrong come before the code?'

You say 'You are quite welcome to report me to the Justice for my actions Sister Darcey, if that is your concern.'

Darcey says 'I simply wish to know, do we follow the order, and report the officer later, or do what we know is right, and deal with the punishments that may come?'

Darcey blinks at you.

Falric says (to You) 'In this particular case, sir, I believe the Lord Crown has already provided an answer. And, given from what little I saw, I do not believe that one Page missing put everyone in danger.'

You say 'We are a lawful organisation who lives by law.'

Darcey says 'As I said father, nothing was done wrong this eve, I had thought we just discussing what actions to take should something occur'

Falric sighs inwardly, leaning on his staff.

Datai says 'One thing conversation has failed to touch on, and should be, are the benefits of us being kind and aiding the Wrath by example.'

You say 'You do not think Gareth should have joined the Wrath to take the Keep for Good from a common enemy of malice?'

Darcey says 'I most certainly think we should, as I said, nothing was done wrong this eve, I simply make a point for knowledge to be shared among the keep'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Father...I cannot speak for the Keep.'

Kiery has entered the realm.

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'But I can speak for myself. An I know what is in my heart.'

Falric taps his staff once on the ground, looking around.

Darcey says 'Lady justice'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'And I cannot do so.'

You say 'Knights under my command were a breath from leaving me in the Keep, because there were those present who did not suit them.'

You salute Kiery.

You say 'Putting the sortie in danger.'

Kiery raises an eyebrow.

Kiery salutes you.

Darcey says 'I would say no knight was in that place, a page made that choice, and it is something that he was told by the lord crown to follow his own heart.'

Darcey says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Unless you planned to leave the battle, dame?'

Falric looks to you, a frown crossing his face as he runs a gloved thumb across an Austinite litany inscribed on a metal band.

You say 'And how would the heart of that page be if his brothers and sisters were slain within because a page wished to forsake them and follow their own personal choice?'

Darcey says 'That is something he or she would live with, and would be between them and the gods of light.'

Darcey says 'If he or she is following the words of the Lord Crown, then who am I to say otherwise.'

You say 'I would ask you consider your judgement in the future.'

Krecks blinks at you.

You say 'It is all very well to agree from the Keep that you will not join a battle to defeat evil with the Wrath.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I will join with Knights.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Or I will fight and fall alone.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I will never betray my honor and assist a thief.'

You say 'But if we move to take a keep with active enemies, and you make a unilateral decision to leave based on someone we might find in the keep, then further judgement must be exercised to consider those you are with.'

Darcey says (to Kiery) 'Might I be excused a moment Lady justice?'

Datai says 'Yah, that's exactly what Lord Nadrik's prophesy said, Page.'

Gadrien sits on a strong hardwood pew and rests.

Kiery ponders.

Falric rubs his fingertips against his eyelids as he cradles his head in his free hand.

Darcey says 'Ranking officer and all of that'

Darcey smiles.

Kiery nods.

Darcey tips her head forward slightly in respect.

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I'm still not very sure what this is about. Lord Crown assured me this would -never- be the result of refusing to group with the Wrath based on terms of honor.'

You say 'I think the events of this eve have exposed a position which we have to put more thought into.'

You say 'So that should it happen again, then we will know the right answer.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Instead, it very much seems to be not only the result...but the focus.'

Datai says 'Yah are not in trouble, Page.'

Kiery ponders.

Datai says 'But the Father is trying to have a conversation.'

Datai says 'To teach yah all there is more to consider.'

You say 'This is about getting to the right answer.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I understand his words.'

Kiery says softly 'Seems I've missed a vital part of this conversation.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'But the problem comes in the assumtion that one is right.'

Falric says (to You) 'Pardon, sir. I hate to interrupt this, but do you happen to know a prayer to cure headaches?'

You say 'We must look at the consequences of actions to know fully what is right.'

Darcey says (to Falric) 'I believe dame Datai has some green leaf that may work'

You say 'Headaches?'

Darcey winks at Datai.

Krecks says in a deep voice 'If I did nothing wrong, was within my own rights, and followed my heart "withour fear of lashing" as it was put to me....then I will not change it, next time.'

Falric says (to You) 'Listening to this so late's given me a mighty one to scrap with, sir. If you don't know one, I think I'm going to go ask Lady Massadah, then return to my bunk.'

Darcey says (to Krecks) 'I hate to pull this talk short, but would you coome with me page?'

You say 'This is a question of Keep law, and your own personal honor.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Darcey) 'As soon as I'm excused.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'The former, I didn't fracture. The latter, I protected.'

You say 'You are not listening Brother Krecks.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Father, I truly am.'

You say 'This is no trial, otherwise Sister Kiery would be asking the questions.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'But this is -precisely- what I was assured I would not be met with.'

Falric tips his head forward slightly in respect.

Falric walks east.

You say 'This is a conversation where we are considering the extended consequences of this action. '

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I was told to follow my heart when it came to forming with the Wrath.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I have done so.'

Datai says 'Yah are not in trouble, Page, yah are being forced to sit and learn.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I will do so, again.'

Datai says 'That's normal activities for a page.'

Datai grins wryly.

You say 'And you think that in that situation, there was no chance that following your heart could have seen us all slain if the enemy had arrived?'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Actually, Ma'am....'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Be it nicely put, or no...I -am- receiving questioning and dressing-down for my decision.'

Datai says (to Krecks) 'No, yah are not.'

Caenarfon holds his head in his hands.

Datai says (to Krecks) 'Yah are hearing another opinion.'

You say 'After all, you did not leave.'

Kiery says softly 'What is the incident in question?'

You say 'We are discussing the consequences if you had.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Opinions are not Keep law, then.'

Darcey says 'I can see how that seems. However I stand with the page's choices, he wished to leave the formation, realized that to do so would endanger knights, and came to battle the lord with us'

You say 'I think he made the right choice.'

Darcey says 'Ah, I know how to solve this.'

Darcey says (to Kiery) 'This is what occured.'

Darcey says 'If you will allow me to tell the tale?'

You say 'This is a discussion to see how our personal honor may clash with the best interests of Gareth Keep when we must make decisions under duress.'

Falric clans 'I'm off, Keep. Father keep you all.'

Datai says (to Kiery) 'We were off to take Misery Keep, though it seems when we got to the safe room, the Wrath was there.'

Datai says (to Kiery) 'The Dame and Page advised against having them join us, but the Father took them on.'

Datai says (to Kiery) 'The page said he'd leave, because Lord Gwaine said it was okay not to party with the dishonorable, but actually didn't.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I did actually leave.'

Kiery nods.

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I was not in that formation, once they were.'

Datai says (to Krecks) 'Hrm.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I came for a moment to make sure things would go alright, then I left and reported Iladel was at the bind.'

Darcey says 'I must be honest, with you there and fighting with us, I didn't notice you leaving the formation.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I certainly did. Notice how I called for a bit of healing aloud, rather than in the party?'

You say 'I maintain it is more important that we learn from this moral dilemma than anything else.'

Darcey says 'no no, I do believe you...I just...didn't notice at the time'

Darcey chuckles.

Datai says 'Well, hrm, then my efforts to heal yah were in vain.'

Gadrien says 'Maybe I am old fashioned but one of our few allies in our most gravest of wars is considered dishonorable?'

Darcey says (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'You did however heal me quite a bit'

Darcey says 'I'd say far more then one of the wrath fall into that category Sir Straun.'

You say 'Leaving the ridiculous war with Shalonesti to one side, why does the Wrath cause a knight so much consternation?'

Gadrien says 'With times as dark as the ones we are in, it is a thin line we tread making such accusations.'

Darcey chuckles.

Darcey says 'Really sir?'

Darcey says 'You feel the assassins, and warlocks running about the halls are honorable?'

Darcey shrugs.

Darcey says 'I'm not saying evil, just...less then honorable.'

You say 'I judge a man by their actions.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'What of the paladin who stole from his general?'

You say 'Not by their profession.'

Datai says 'I don't like them because they are rude, Father! However, that means I'm forced to be not rude to them.'

You say 'I'm not sure what is dishonorable about warlocks at all.'

Kiery says softly 'While aiding the Wrath is disagreeable to many.'

Darcey says (to You) 'Ah, then soon we shall allow honorable assassins to join the keep?'

You say 'This is in law.'

You say 'But we have had honorable assassins before.'

You say '... like the Lord Crown.'

Darcey says 'And why do we have them no longer?'

You say 'Unless you doubt his honor.'

You say 'He is the same man.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'We're now talking tangents...'

Kiery says softly 'And if you wish to not form with them that is acceptable, but to leave your brothers and sisters is not.'

Darcey says 'The lord crown does not practice these tricks and tactic.'

You say 'We are not, a man is judged by his actions.'

Gadrien says 'Yes they made the right choices when it matters, how they operate is what makes us different, but do not be so arrogant to think we do not need and value their alliance, if anything we should draw them closer.'

Darcey says (to Kiery) 'Then what is the proper action lady justice.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'I will not party with a thief.'

You say 'Who is this thief you speak of?'

Darcey says 'Should our formation join with the wrath, and we wish to not party with them, do we leave our sisters and brothers on the field?'

Gadrien says 'Of course not'

Darcey says 'Then, we are forced to party with the wrath, or should the knights not form should there be an objection?'

Gadrien says 'But being Knightly means more then fighting for other Knights'

Kiery says softly 'The course I would suggest, would be to whichever force was their first to engage the lord, the other to watch and wait outside should the enemy come.'

Darcey says 'Which was the plan lady justice, they told us to enter, and they would stand guard'

Darcey says 'they soon came after to aid in the felling of the lord.'

Kiery nods.

Darcey says 'however the question that caused the stir remains.'

Darcey says 'What do you do, if the ranking officer forms with the wrath, and honor will not allow such'

Darcey says 'Should the officer restrain, or should the knight simply do his duty and discuss itlater?'

Gadrien says 'Just becareful your righteousness is not arrogance but to each their own i suppose....should i ever see any of them in need you can be damned sure i will help'

Darcey nods at Gadrien.

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Gadrien) 'I will assist them against evil. But I will not actively form with them.'

Darcey says 'Such is a personal choice of honor.'

Gadrien says 'Honor is being thrown around this converation far too loosely'

Kiery says softly 'It is trusted that the officer should know what is best in the situation, if ordered to form up then duty is such, unless there is a reason beyond doubt, such as one of evil present. Thereafter it should be discussed if the need arises.'

Datai says 'I would do my duty, and discuss it later. Yah may not know something which yer ranking officer does. I do not see, though, why yer honor is more in tact if yah form or not. Yah are helping, or yah are not.'

Datai says 'Unless they are off to kill babies or something terrible.'

Darcey says 'I thank you for the decision lady justice.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'So...even assured there will be no fallout for making the choice, I should go against my heart, then address it later?'

Gadrien chuckles at Datai.

Darcey says (to Krecks) 'Such is the law of the keep.'

Kiery says softly (to Krecks) 'There will always be situations in which we are placed where we may not agree entirely upon a course of action.'

Gadrien says 'Krecks, please be a lad and recite our code'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to Kiery) 'I quite understand.'

Gadrien says 'I promise there is a point'

Kiery says softly (to Krecks) 'While normally yes you are free to choose whether you wish to enter a formation or not. This is a situation where such choice may need to be put aside for others.'

Krecks says in a deep voice 'Actually, I'm going to stand by my choice. This is precisely what I was worried about when I spoke on my concerns taht day. And this is -precisely- what I was assured against.'

You say 'Well that is good, because you performed the right action.'

Gadrien says 'There is nothing wrong with that.'

You say 'You are being overly defensive for a conversation where we are discussing a moral dilemma.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I'm glad you believe so. And I will, again, remove myself from any formation including them.'

Darcey wields 109.154.12.234.

You say (to Krecks) 'So in the future, you would disobey a commanding officer?'

You say (to Krecks) 'Or leave in a situation where your knights may die, because of your own personal honor?'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) '"You will -never- receive a lashing for choosing not to form with the Wrath.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'Quoted.'

You say 'I am not asking you to quote.'

You say 'I am asking you think of the consequences of those potential actions.'

You say 'Here is the Keep, we are celebrated for using our reason and judgment for the benefit of Good.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'I fully understand your point and concern, Father. I've said this. But I cannot form with those who are less than honorable...simply to make the endevor a bit easier on us.'

You say 'So you will only ever group with people of this Keep?'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'No, Father.'

You say 'As they are the only ones who are held to our high standard.'

Krecks says in a deep voice (to You) 'There are many honorable souls outside these walls.'

You say 'I don't think you can have it both ways.'

Gadrien says 'i would dance with a vampire were it to save one of you, or them my oath as a Knight does not allow for such distinctions.'

You say 'This is with the Brotherhood of Gareth Keep is about.'

Gadrien nods.

You say 'We had a moral dilemma tonight.'

You say 'The result was interesting'

Darcey agrees.

You say 'I hope we have learned from it.'

Gadrien beams a smile at you.
