Garaint's Unholy Symbol

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Yah, lets. I reckon his prayers on yer behalf will help, Page.'

You grant Garaint the favor of your god.

Datai says (to You) 'It's been busy while yah napped, Father.'

You say 'What have our knights become possessed with now?'

Datai says (to You) 'See what happens, Father? Evil spirits possessed the page. We drove them out, but they left an unholy mark on him.'

You say 'Please not another florist.'

Caenarfon looks at the flowers sadly.

Upon his brow is the burned and tattooed mark of an unholy symbol.

Garaint is in excellent condition.

Garaint has full magical ability.

Datai says (to You) 'If only it was the florist spirit, Father.'

Garaint glances at Datai.

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I do not know, Dame. At least this gives me a chance to practice my acrobatics.'

You say (to Garaint) 'What is the nature of this mark pray tell?'

Garaint adjusts his hat on his head and slowly shakes his head toward you.

Incident Report: Unknown Spiritual Attack (02)

Last eve, a report was sent out about an attack that took place within

Althainia by some unknown creature of Darkness. All believed that the

threat had passed, but I am saddened to write this following report and

declare that the threat very much remains.

This morning I was once again attacked, and this time it was within my home

near Althainia proper. Those present as the attack began were the young

Master Kahlyn Snowdragon and the Princess Caecius Mamoritai.

The assault began as the mark upon my brow seeping blood. Shortly after, I

began to feel nauseated as the nightmares I was tormented with previously

also returned. Moments following, the shadows enveloped myself and I found

myself within a void where the being inflicted physical wounds and I felt my

eyes bleeding. The creature seems to feed on terror and horror and it was a

physical sensation that I could feel.

I was returned to my home nearly drained of blood and left quite weak. The

Princess and young Master had managed to spread a great deal of lights

around my garden. It was at this point that the Empress arrived to lend her

healing spells and prayers. Combined, our voices seemed to reach the God's

ears. Light filled the area and my wounds were healed, the dried blood

blown away on a gentle breeze. After the event had passed, Lady Corszana

also joined us and we spent a great deal of time in prayer to hopefully have

the unholy marking removed.

Currently, the mark remains, as does the unseen threat, but I believe I may

have a clue to what the creature is. As the creature appears to feed on

terror, I believe it to be Trepidation, the same demon which had haunted

Althainia some time ago. This is only stipulation and yet to be determined,

but it may be a vital clue.

Thusly, the only affective methods for chasing the entity away appear to be

items of holy power, holy symbols and prayer.

Garaint Anorati

Page of Knighthood

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'We are still uncertain.'

Datai says (to You) 'We were hoping yah could make something of it, Father. The evil spirit left it on him after it left his body.'

Datai says 'Or demon, or whatever it is that possessed him.'

You say 'Do you know what we had to do to the last unholy symbols we came across?'

You beckon everyone.

Datai now follows you.

Datai joins your group.

You beckon Garaint.

Datai says (to You) 'We are not buring the Page, Father.'

Garaint visibly hesitates following the priest.

Garaint now follows you.

You say 'Just because I carry stakes and holy oils, doesn't mean I'm going to burn Pages!'

You say 'Honesty!'

Caenarfon wrings his hands.

You say (to Jornhya, priest to Austinian) 'Where is the kindling?'

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Don't worry, its mostly bad Shield Knight humor.'

You say 'It was in those room.'

You say (to Datai) 'Will you find the tome of the Temple cleansing?'

Caenarfon puts down his stake and rummages in his back for vials of holy oil.

Datai starts to sort through the scrolls and tomes in her bags.

You say (to Garaint) 'Liberally smother yourself in sacred oil would you?'

Garaint eyes you warily, keeping a little closer to Datai.

Caenarfon give Garaint about 42 vials of sacred flammable oil.

You feel the holy presence leave your body.

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'Please tell me you are not going to light me on fire, Father. One experience was enough.'

You say (to Garaint) 'There's a HUGE difference between lighting someone on fire, and purification!'

You say 'It's all very scientific.'

Garaint stares at you.

Datai says (to Garaint) 'I'm not going to let him light yah on fire, Page.'

Garaint glances to Datai and nods, gripping his rosary firmly before he begins anointing himself with the sacred oils.

Caenarfon gets a flint and tinderbox from his backpack.

Datai says (to You) 'Okay Father!'

You say 'Go on pray tell!'

Caenarfon rummages around for kindling.

Datai says (to You) 'Lets lay off the purirification of flame ritual for a moment or day.'

You say 'Make special reference to unholy symbols.'

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'If you light me on fire, I am going to hug you.'

Datai laughs merrily at Garaint.

You say 'We shall all be purified!'

You beam a smile.

You say 'However, only one of us is supersaturated in sacred oil....'

Datai says 'Well, I suppose a quick burn and quench would just remove any unsightly hair, and exofoliate.'

Garaint opens a vial of the oil and promptly pours it on one of your shoulders.

Datai flips through the pages of a book.

Caenarfon looks very holy.

Datai says (to You) 'Bad news, Father...'

Datai says (to You) 'No purification by fire rituals were used in the cleansing of the temple.'

You say (to Datai) 'We don't have to purify the Page after all?'

Datai says (to You) 'Looks like it was all prayer and holy water.'

Datai says (to You) 'yah, the power of prayer wins again.'

You say 'Aha! But holy oil floats on holy water.'

Datai says (to You) 'So it must weight the same as a duck?'

You get a barrel of pink lemonade from a rack and compartment.

You empty a barrel of pink lemonade.

You fill a barrel of pink lemonade from a stone fountain.

You imbue the water in a barrel of pink lemonade with your holy power.

A barrel of pink lemonade glows with a holy aura.

You pour holy water out of a barrel of pink lemonade all over Garaint!

Upon his brow is the burned and tattooed mark of an unholy symbol.

Garaint is in excellent condition.

Garaint has full magical ability.

You say 'Like a stubborn grass stain...'

Caenarfon pats Garaint on the head.

Datai says (to You) 'Yah, only prayer will remove it.'

You say 'How about the sword?'

Caenarfon fingers his sabre of light.

Garaint continues to stare at you blandly.

You say 'Can't we do anything the old-fashoined way?'

Datai says (to You) 'It never really manifests itself fully in our world, Father, so no.'

Caenarfon looks pleadingly at the statue of Nadrik.

You say 'Maybe we need to get the Page -in- the barrel.'

You fill a barrel of pink lemonade from a stone fountain.

You imbue the water in a barrel of pink lemonade with your holy power.

A barrel of pink lemonade glows with a holy aura.

Datai says (to You) 'I'm sure Lord Nadrik is proud of all the advances in purification we've made over the years, Father.'

You drop a barrel of pink lemonade.

You say 'Ah, science wins again.'

You say 'Seriously though, as I have had a looong day.'

You say 'We shall pray for the young Page here.'

Caenarfon sighs wistfully.

You say 'with help of neither fire or sword.'

Datai smiles wryly at you, and clasps her hands, assuming a prayerful expression.

You say 'What else does the Temple Cleansing say?'

Garaint removes his hat entirely and clasps his own hands, bowing his head over them.

You say 'Hmm, it is the Day of Deception, 2nd the Month of the Great Evil.'

You say 'Ominous.'

You pray, saying "Upon this Day of Deception, 2nd the Month of the Great Evil, Page Garaint was struck by possession and subsequent marking of an unholy symbol.".

The gods have received your prayers.

Datai says 'Uh, the evil spirits were driven out with cleaning by water and prayer, and battle was done with their manifastations as they were driven out.'

You say 'Upon this Day of Deception, 2nd the Month of the Great Evil, Page Garaint was struck by possession and subsequent marking of an unholy symbol.'

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'Actually, Father...'

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'I was struck yesterday.'

You pray, saying "We consulted the texts of the temple cleansing of Nadrik, and withholding the purifications of fire and sword, we set about to douse the afflicted in holy water.".

The gods have received your prayers.

You say 'We consulted the texts of the temple cleansing of Nadrik, and withholding the purifications of fire and sword, we set about to douse the afflicted in holy water.'

You say (to Garaint) 'That sounds rather less ominous than yesterday.'

Datai looks up from her clasped hands and smiles gently at Garaint.

Garaint grins wryly and closes his eyes, quieting and growing peaceful as he prays.

You pray, saying "But even the holy power of a whole barrel of sacred water was not powerful enough to remove the mark, which brings fire and sword back to the fore!".

The gods have received your prayers.

You say 'But even the holy power of a whole barrel of sacred water was not powerful enough to remove the mark, which brings fire and sword back to the fore!'

Datai elbows you.

You pray, saying "So we shall find in prayer Your holiness required to free the afflicted of this symbol. I -was- kidding about the fire and sword my Lord.".

The gods have received your prayers.

You say 'So we shall find in prayer Your holiness required to free the afflicted of this symbol. I -was- kidding about the fire and sword my Lord.'

Garaint smiles slightly and shakes his head to himself.

You pray, saying "And hope to seek out new remedy for this affliction which has struck more than once, and find a powerful cure from Your hand. And Page Garaint restored to his holy self.".

You say 'And hope to seek out new remedy for this affliction which has struck more than once, and find a powerful cure from Your hand. And Page Garaint restored to his holy self.'

Caenarfon puts his tinderbox away.

Datai smiles wryly, her own lips silently mouthing a prayer.

You say 'perhaps if we blessed the whole fountain instead of just a whole barrel?'

You say (to Datai) 'No unholy marks on you are there?'

Caenarfon goes to pick up the barrel again.

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'The Lady is pure and unmarred.'

You stare at Garaint.

You comfort Garaint.

Datai says (to You) 'Nah, I'm clean, Father. Lord Gwaine hasn't been off duty that much this week.'

Garaint looks at you with a puzzled expression.

Datai winks wryly at you.

You say 'I find such statements hard to believe.'

You say 'But if I cannot trust my brothers, who can I trust!'

You beam a smile.

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'The Lord!'

Garaint nods sagely.

You cheer for Garaint.

You say 'Hey nonny nonny.'

Datai says 'Amen, Father.'

Garaint ponders you.

You say (to Garaint) 'I've had a long day.'

Garaint sings, "So no mo'e lady, sigh no mo'e. Men were deceivers ever."

You say (to Garaint) 'You will excuse my attempt of priestly humor.'

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'If I had not recently experienced being burned alive, I probably would have had more humor. I apologize.'

You say 'Ah, all is well in Gareth Keep.'

Datai says (to You) 'The spirit did kinda combust when we drove it out, Father.'

You say 'Apart from your new facial issue.'

Caenarfon checks Garaint for eyebrows.

You say 'Tsk tsk.'

Datai says 'He's young yet, maybe like acne it'll fade. Don't pick at it, Page.'

Garaint smirks at Datai's saying.

Datai smiles wryly, and turns the pegs of her lute, tuning it delicatly.

Datai starts to sing in a gentle voice, struming her lute quietly:

Datai says 'Preserve, prevent,'

Datai says 'Goddess, Your power lent,'

Datai says 'Endure, hold fast,'

Datai says 'No evil will ever last,'

Datai says 'Enjoin, show, teach,'

Datai says 'Wisdom we beseech,'

Datai says 'In prayerful word,'

Datai says 'Guide shimmering sword,'

Datai says 'Alchemist's measure,'

Datai says 'To protect life's treasure.'

Datai plucks a few last notes on her lute and smiles at Garaint.

You say 'Much better than a prayer.'

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Don't worry, Page, I reckon we'll figure it all out in time.'

Garaint nods serenely toward Datai and smiles kindly.

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'I have faith that the mark will be removed. One way or another.'

Caenarfon pulls out his tinderbox.

You say 'One way or another...'

Caenarfon puts his tinderbox back in his backpack.

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Careful what yah say around the High Clerist, Page.'

Datai chuckles merrily.

You laugh.

You say 'I have been funny too long.'

Garaint glances down to his flaming daggers and grins wryly.

You say 'I shall retreat to somber.'

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'One of these -is- empowered.'

Datai says (to You) 'So, in seriousness, I've advised the Page to not be alone. And if he is alone, to stay by Suh Gunnar's relic.'

You nod.

You say 'It seems reasonable.'

You say 'We would hate for him to bring harm to himself.'

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'I am a little more concerned about bleeding out.'

Garaint scratches his head.

Datai says 'Well, I reckon yah should have someone watching yah if possible. Though, I would prefer said watcher be an experianced holy sort.'

Garaint puts a hand over his mouth as he yawns. The young man nods to Datai and then settles himself to rest in a pew.

You say 'Maybe we can get stanley or jornhya to do it.'

Datai says (to You) 'Father Jornhya isn't the most watchful chaperone I've found, Father.'

You say (to Datai) 'Did a terrible job with you and Gwaine!'

You groan.

Garaint chuckles.

Datai smiles winningly at you.

You say 'Kusanami is shown here wielding a hammer and smashing it upon a symbol, the symbol cracks and forms into a hammer resembling Kusanami's and shatters as it crashes upon Bolter's shield. '

Caenarfon gets a hammer out.

Datai says (to You) 'Don't yah get any ideas, Father.'

You say 'Maybe we just have to hit it really hard with a hammer?'

You say 'Don't worry, I shall be back to normal tomorrow.'

Garaint chuckles.

Datai gently pats you on the shoulder.

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'You are alright, Father.'

Datai says 'Its been a busy week so far for the Shield. And now evil spirit possessions.'

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Are yah able to attend the service tonight, Page?'

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'Aye, for a while and I would very much like to.'

You say 'How long to that?'

Garaint says in a raspy voice 'Two and a half hours is it?'

Datai says 'Seven bells past noon, Father.'

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Yah, I'm not likely to be able to make it, but yah should attend if yah can, Page.'

You say 'That's still in quite a few hours?'

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to Datai d'Aggravaine) 'I will do what I can to make sure you get a summary of the gathering, Dame.'

Garaint nods at you.

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'Nigh to three hours, Father.'

You say 'Unless you think fire would work better now.'

You wink.

Datai says (to Garaint) 'Thank yah, Page.'

Datai says (to You) 'Yah know, Father, Siccara forbid I ever have to fire yah.'

Datai grins wryly at you.

Garaint says in a raspy voice (to You) 'Thank you, Father.'
