Toured out in Verona

We spent a day in Verona and I have to admit it was a little boring. I think it might be because we felt toured out that day. I embarassingly got suckered into having my picture taken for 3 euros with dressed up people. It was such a rip off. Of course they demanded the money after I had my photo taken. I will learn to say no...

Stone Bridge

Verona Arena

We went to the Verona museum and we got a great view of the Stone bridge. We also saw the arena but it was very expensive to go in, so we admired it from the outside. The euro is taking its toll on our budget, so we have to really think about the touristy things we do . We were looking forward to having a cheap egg McMuffin for breakfast at McDonald's but breakfast is a very small meal in Italy. At 9:00 AM McDonald's serves, muffins, croissants, juice and coffee or a Big Mac. They do not serve North American breakfasts. We opted for tea, coffee and chocolate filled croissants from a bakery which we enjoyed in a nice park (to avoid the sitting fee).

We visited two churches S. Anastasia Cathedral and Duomo, but they looked quite similar to the

other churches we have been in. Duomo was built in 1117 AD and had 3 different buildings that we explored. Colin cringes each time I want to go into yet another cathedral in another city. I however never seem to tire of the beautiful buildings and the sculptures and paintings that are housed inside.

The best place we visited was Juliette's house. We were going to go in, but 12 euro was too much to spend on seeing a fictious peron's house. Although, I admit the balcony did look quite cool. It was free to have my picture taken with the Juliet statue, but I had to wait in quite an aggressive cue.

You could also write a letter to Juliet and paste it on the wall.
