Kata Beach Sunsets

I wrote about the bad parts of Phuket in my post 18 hours to Phuket (hookerville) and now I'm going to cover the good parts-Kata Beach. I jogged along the beach during a few sunsets, so I could capture a few great pictures. The above sunset island picture is the island that Colin and I swam to, so we could find a geocache.

There were a few days of really crazy waves on the beach too. It was fun to jump over them, dive into them and get sucked below them. However, the amount of sand in my hair and everywhere else was not so fun to wash off. The impact of the waves was so powerful that my pony tail even came undone a few times.

There was tons of coral on the beach too, but I was good and didn't take any.

Our favourite restaurant to eat at was Po. It's located two blocks from the 3rd Street Guesthouse Cafe where we stayed. They serve affordable and delicious Thai and Western food. We ate almost every meal at their restaurant. I think it was a family run business and at the end of each meal you're given a free tropical fruit platter for dessert.

Boxing is extremely popular in Thailand and apparently so is sudo boxing as a form of advertisement.

We spent the second half of our week here because there was no room for us at the 3rd Street Guesthouse.

Kata Lucky Villa was more so unlucky since it was a far walk to the beach, we had to pay for Internet, our room wasn't clean and there were bugs in it too. However, they did have a decent pool that we hung out by one day when it was really wavy on the beach.

A few more random and great beach pictures:

This was the last sunset we saw on Kata Beach.
