Munich Geocaching

German geocaches are challenging to find. Even though we have been geocaching for a few months all over the world, Munich caches posed a learning curve for us. Most of the geocaches in Munich have a difficulty rating of 2 or 3. We tried to find about 9 geocaches in total and only managed to actually find 3. We checked online to see if there was some big picture we were missing or trick to finding the caches we tried to hunt down. However, the reason we were not able to find a few of the caches that we looked for was because they were actually hidden in the sewer! We saw a picture of a girl standing in waist deep sewage holding up a cache. We are dedicated to geocaching, but I am not willing to go that much of an extreme.

The first cache we found was a micro by the university. It wasn't in too difficult of a spot. It was under an electrical panel on the side of a building. It was also in the middle of a construction zone so it was actually pretty lucky that the workers who had their tools plugged in had not discovered the cache.

The second cache we found was difficult but it didn't take us long to find it. We found it at sunset in the English Garden. A black thin tin the size of a micro was hidden in a slit of a tree trunk near the bottom. It was quite difficult to see the black tin and diffcult to slide it out of the hole, but what a clever spot.

The third cache we found was also in the English Garden underneath a popular bench. We actually had to go back the next day to retrieve it because there was always someone sitting on one of the two benches. From the bench, you have a great view of a field and two beautiful trees that have shed their red leaves for the fall season.
