Locals, Castles and Waterfalls

On Sunday, Sept 27, 2009, Colin and I were spoiled by getting toured around by Markus and

Sara. Markus is Reto's (Lynette's boyfriend) best friend. We even learned some of the Romansch language which is spoken by about 1% of Switzerland. Allegra means "Hi." Sara and Markus picked us up from our couchsurfers apartment and drove us to Kyburg Castle. The castle is 800 years old. We saw knights, crazy chairs that children were strapped into to keep them quiet, but the chair restricted mobility.

Sara and I played dress up in the replica Knight robes.

Next, we went to Rhine falls whihc appear to be 2 waterfalls, but when you take a boat across to the cliff in the middle of the falls you can see a series of waterfalls. Colin captured some amazing pictures of the waterfalls.

We took a tea break at Sara and Markus' flat and enjoyed some delicious cakes. We had a

lemon, wild berry, chocolate and a cake with chestnut strings of icing. Afterwards, we went

geocaching.

We ended our delightful day of touring and socializing with an amazing home cooked meal by

Markus' parents. We had salad, wine, vegetables au gratin, ham and sausage on the barbecue,

scalloped potatoes, and strawberry ice cream cake for dessert. It was our best meal in Switzerland.
