Iced Tea Floats

Since I've never been a coffee drinker, tea has always floated my boat. On Friday, June 04, 2010, Colin and I attended the grand opening of Cha Island Tea. It's near Whyte Ave and Calgary Trail at 10332-81 Avenue. Colin had a Grapefruit iced tea with real grapefruit bits. His tea was sweetened with agave. I had an apple iced tea with real slices of apple and honey. The teas are shaken with ice in a martini shaker. After we placed our order, I noticed that you can get a scoop of ice cream added to your tea. I am definitely going to try the float next time.

We enjoyed our beverages on the patio and shared an oatmeal chocolate chip muffin. It was so good. I love the palm tree decorations and how islandish the tea place is. It's a great place to chill in the summer or to grab a drink on your way to walk Whyte. They also sell loose leaf tea in many tropical flavors. We had fun sniffing them in the little Ikea spice jars against the wall. I bought 50g of Green Atlantico Lime tea. It's so good. So far this weekend, I've had it hot and iced with some honey. It just tastes like summer.
