Island just off Kata Beach with a geocache

We rented two body boards for 200 baht total and swam out to an island just off Kata Beach. On the way there, we received numerous stings from Jelly fish. We couldn't see them so they might have had clear bodies, but we didn't stick around to see them. We kept swimming to our island destination. Once we arrived and stashed the boards, we climbed up the barnacle ridden rocks and I received a few cuts on my right leg from some of the shells on the rocks. It's a must to wear shoes find this cache. We wore our Teva sandals. We hiked through the red ant infested palm tree forest to the geocache. It's a beautiful spot for a cache and the first cache we've swam to.

On our way back into the water, we saw a gigantic lobster but he was dead. He was 3 feet long. Crazy! Unfortunately, we couldn't take pictures because we don't have a waterproof camera, but our GPS is waterproof. We saw a few flying fish during our swim back. I highly recommend Lets Koh Pu.

On December 14, 2009, we tried to find Laem Sai 2, but it not longer exists. However, I still recommend visiting this cache for the great view and possibly some naked sunbathers too.

Since the other cache didn't exist we walked 2.0 KM each way to get Wet Gecko. The walk in the heat of day was definitely worth it. The beach just down from this cache is beautiful and there were wicked surfer ways to play in too. We left a geokrety and TB from Bangkok and picked up the Coffee TB to bring to the Philippines. However, we ended up bringing it to Vancouver instead because there were so few caches in Manila and we weren't close to any during our trip.
