Colin and I jumped on the express train to Narita airport and flew to Bangkok on the nicest and fanciest plane we've ever been on. Japan airlines are awesome. Our plane had 4 classes: First, Executive, Premium Economy and Economy. We were of course in economy. We got a picture of first and I don't even want to think about how much a ticket would cost to sit in this class. I can also only imagine and dream of the food they were served. First class as you can see below is in the nose of the plane.
I can't complain about economy though, I mean we did receive free beer, ice cream, hot towels and we used real silverware too.

We stayed at one of the most luxurious hostels in all of Asia, Lub d. It's decorated like a old warehouse turned modern.
We visited the most famous Hindu Temple in Bangkok. It was amazing to be inside it on Sunday morning to watch all the locals offering various platters of food to the buddhas. For 60 baht, you could purchase a platter piled high with bananas, juice, and flower lays. The flower lays are sold at various street stands like this one on the right.

The best local food in Bangkok is from the street side restaurants down the street across from the Hindu Temple. I had seafood Pad Thai with the most tender baby octopus and the freshest shrimp. The combination of spices and sweet flavouring are what makes Thai food so good. Even the tofu which I don't usually like tastes good in Pad Thai.
A few random pictures from around Bangkok:
Coconut ice cream bar with peas and carrots in it.
The 10 Baht coin looks similar to our toonie.
