Painted Primary & Secondary Value Study

Artist Statement:

This piece doesn't have a suject, it is just strips that show value. To make this piece, I used pencil to make the boxes, and acrylic paint to paint them. I also used tape to outline the places I didn't want paint in. This piece contains only one element of art, and that is value, since they are value strips.

Throughout the creation of this piece, I had to re-mix my paint a lot, because I never quite got the colors I wanted. I was also originally planning on doing purple, I wanted to do orange.

If this piece could be stronger, I would add a little less black to both colors, so they aren't as dark I also would have added better or more tape to the edges so none leaked through.
