Artist Statement:

This piece is inspired by Joan Miro, and the Dada Art Movement. I tried to make it look a lot like a child's work, by adding the badly painted person, and snake, with the splatters throughout. I used inkwash in the beggining before the paint, and covered the whole paper with it, for the affect some of Joan's paintings had. Then, I used acrylic paint for everything else. This piece has some pattern in it, because of all of the different things going on in it. It also has line because of the lines going through it. Also color, because of the multiple colors in it. Lastly, I think it also has texture because of the splatters.

I think this piece shows framing, because the lines sort of frame the other things. At first, I was just going to do only one big splatter, but I changed it to a bunch of small ones.

This artwork is supposed to look like a kids work, and I really like that aspect of it. This project doesn't really really relate to my life, but it was really fun to make, because I love to paint. If this coould look stronger, I would make the snake more curvy.
