Dear Mulwala School Community,
I would like to thank all the families who were able to attend our recent ‘Meet and Greet’. The evening, although warm, was a wonderful opportunity for staff to connect with our school community over a sausage sanger or two. Families also had the chance to view the recent upgrades completed in the office, as well as the Goonie, Nungara, and Thurgoon classrooms. I was delighted to announce on the night that Mrs Courtney Kuschert has joined us as the Thursday/Friday teacher for the Goonie (K-2) class for this year.
Following the Meet and Greet, we held our first P&C meeting of the year. During the meeting, we discussed possible fundraising opportunities, school promotion ideas, and planned for our upcoming Annual General Meeting. Becoming involved in the P&C is a fantastic way to shape your child’s school experience, connect with other families, and contribute to improvement initiatives. Please keep an eye out for details about our next meeting, which will be held next term.
Thank you to the families who recently completed our communication survey. The majority indicated they were satisfied with how the school communicates with them. All main correspondence will continue to be sent via School Bytes. In response to feedback, we are also looking into providing paper reminders sent home with students. We’re pleased that 100% of respondents found the information in the school newsletter useful and relevant; newsletters will now be distributed in Weeks 1, 4, 7, and 10.
Only 17% of respondents reported reading the class newsletters last year. Therefore, these will now be included termly in the first newsletter of each term. Additionally, 67% of families were in favour of holding school assemblies three times each term. They will be held in Weeks 3, 6, and 9.
This fortnight, students in Years 3 and 5 will participate in NAPLAN assessments in writing, reading, language conventions, and numeracy. NAPLAN is just one way our school assesses your child’s progress in literacy and numeracy, and I would like to wish all students the best of luck. I am confident they will do their best.
Your ongoing support this term is truly appreciated, and I look forward to a strong and successful finish to the term.
Warm regards,
Mrs Emma Quinn

A huge thank you to our amazing parents and family members who came along to support the day. Some cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines, while others assisted with timekeeping — we truly appreciate everyone’s support.
Our staff worked wonderfully as a team to ensure everything ran smoothly, and our students gave their all in the 50m, 25m and novelty events. Most importantly, their behaviour was impeccable and they represented our school and sport houses with pride.
It was a day filled with fun, teamwork and school spirit, and it was clear that all students thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done to everyone involved
Six students represented Mulwala Public School at the Zone Swimming Carnival held in Cobram.
Congratulations to our relay team for making it onto the Riverina carnival.
