Dear parents and carers
Welcome to the 2025 school year. It was wonderful to see the happy students return to school.
New students and staff
We would like to welcome the following new Mulwala jarmbies to our school:
Kindergarten- Noah, Tillie, Brooklyn, Chloe, Abigail, Alice R, Alice S and Sophie
Year 1- Jessica and Raiah
Year 3- Maximus and Samuel
Year 4- Arloh
We would also like to welcome Mr Southam (Nungara teacher) and Mr Elliott (casual teacher) to our staff.
Sport Captains elections
All Year 5 students are invited to nominate themselves as a 2025 Sport Captain. Elections will take place on Wednesday 5 February. The students will present a short speech prior to the student election.
School Lunches
School lunches will be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Stroke correction
Stroke correction lessons will occur each day this week leading up to the swimming carnival. The lessons are for those students who can swim 25 m and will be entering competitive races at the carnival.. Please ensure your child brings their swimmers, rashie, towel and thongs/crocs to school each day in a bag.
Swimming Carnival
Our annual swimming carnival will be held on Friday 7 February. All students from K-6 will be attending. There will be competitive events as well as 25 m and novelty events.
Please complete the entry form sent out via SchoolBytes. Parents are invited to come along and support thier child. If you are able to assist with time keeping, please contact the school office.
Meet and Greet
Famiies are invited to meet the staff at our Meet and Greet session on Wednesday 26 February commencing at 5:30 pm. More information will be provided at a later date
Thrive Before and After School Care
Thrive before and after school care is now taking bookings for Term 1.
Before School Care: 7 am - 9 am
After School Care: 3 pm - 6 pm

Labeled items
Please ensure your child's items, in particular, hat, jumper and drink bottle, are labeled.
Bringing toys to school
The school has ample equipment and toys for students to play with at recess and lunch times. We ask that students do not bring toys and other items from home.
Bring your wheels to school
The students are invited to bring their wheels (bikes, scooters, skateboards etc) to school each Thursday to ride at lunchtime. The students must have a properly fitting helmet. This will begin on Thursday 13 February.
Voluntary School Contributions
Parents are invited to make a voluntary contribution of $40 which goes towards all classroom supplies..
School holidays
Term one ends on Friday 4 April.

Congratulations to to Nancy (apology) and Nevaeh for receiving Federation's Council's Student Achievement Awards. Nancy received the award for her excellence in sport. Nevaeh received the award for her involvement in the community.
Assemblies are held at school on alternate Fridays commencing at 2 pm. All students have a turn at presenting class reports, sharing learning and presenting the assembly. Everyone is invited to attend.

The next P&C meeting will be held on Monday 3 March at 7 pm in the staffroom at school. New members are welcome.
It is a requirement of the P&C association that all members have a current WWCC. Volunteer applications are free of charge.
