Public Education Week
This week, we are excited to celebrate Public Education Week 2025 under the theme "Ignite Your Potential." This special week highlights how important education is and the crucial role that our school staff and families play in helping students succeed.
Public education opens doors for all students, giving them chances to explore their interests and develop their skills. Mulwala Public School is pround of the the various opportunities available in our school that assist students to reach their goals. From creative arts and sports to special learning programs, we aim to provide experiences that meet the unique needs of every learner.
Personalised learning is key to our approach. We understand that every student learns differently, and we strive to create environments where they can grow at their own pace. By tailoring education to fit each student’s interests and learning needs, we help them not only do well in school but also develop a lifelong love of learning.
We also want to take a moment to thank our dedicated teachers. Their hard work and support make a huge difference in the lives of our students. They inspire and motivate learners, helping them discover their strengths and tackle challenges. It is their passion that helps ignite the potential within each child.
As we celebrate Public Education Week, we invite all families to join us in recognising the achievements of our students and the commitment of our educators. Together, we can continue to support our children’s learning and create an environment where every student can reach their full potential.

Future Jarmbies Transition Program
We are looking forward to the Future Jarmbie Transition Program to help our new students get ready for school. This program is designed to help children and their parents become familiar with the school environment and routines.
The program will have 10 sessions on Thursdays, starting with two-hour meetings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. As the program goes on, we will increase the time to include three full days, giving children a taste of what a typical school day is like. This will help them feel more comfortable and confident as they start school.
The Future Jarmbie Transition Program offers many benefits. It will help children and parents learn about the daily routines and what to expect at school, which can make starting school less stressful. Children will also have the chance to meet their teachers and future classmates, helping them build friendships and connections. Our teachers will get to know the children better, understanding their needs and strengths, which will make their learning experience even better once school begins.
An information session for parents will be held on Wednesday 13 August at 5:30 pm. Children are welcome to attend.
To join the Future Jarmbie Transition Program, parents need to make sure their child is enrolled. We encourage families to take this important step to help make the transition to school as smooth as possible. Online enrolment for families living in Mulwala is available here. Interstate enrolments will need to fill out a paper form available from the office.
We are dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for our students. We believe the Future Jarmbie Transition Program is a great program for both children and parents. We look forward to welcoming our new students and starting this exciting journey together. For more information about enrolling and the transition program, please contact our school office.
Parent teacher interviews
We are pleased to announce that Parent-Teacher Interviews are just around the corner. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for you to connect with your child’s teachers, discuss their progress, and gain insights into their learning journey.
The interviews will take place during Weeks 5, 6 and 7
During the interviews, you will have the chance to hear about your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and how they are engaging with the curriculum. Teachers will share valuable feedback and strategies to support your child’s learning at home. This is also a great time to ask any questions you may have regarding your child's education, well-being, and development.
We encourage all parents and caregivers to attend these important meetings, as your involvement plays a key role in your child’s success. Together, we can create a supportive environment that fosters learning and growth.
To ensure a smooth process, please sign up for a time slot via SchoolBytes. The information will be sent out this week. If you have any questions or require assistance, feel free to reach out to the school office.
We look forward to seeing you at the Parent-Teacher Interviews and working together to support your child's educational journey!
Prime Ministers Spelling Bee
We are excited to announce that our school will be participating in the Prime Minister's Spelling Bee this year! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their spelling skills, boost their confidence, and challenge themselves in a fun and engaging environment.

We encourage all parents to sign up their children in Years 3-6 for this exciting event. Whether your child is a seasoned speller or just starting out, every participant will benefit from the experience.
Please register on SchoolBytes to ensure your child’s participation.
Childrens Book Week
Book Week is just around the corner, and we invite all students to come dressed as their favourite Book Week character on Monday 18 August. This is a wonderful opportunity to express your love for literature and showcase your creativity!
This year, the theme for Book Week is “Reading is My Secret Power,” and the students will engage in exciting activities centred around the Children’s Book Council short-listed books. From storytelling sessions to creative workshops, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Pulse Deniliquin event was a fantastic chance for our students to learn from expert teachers in the creative arts. This event helped students build confidence while exploring different artistic activities, including music, dance, drama, and craft.
During Pulse Deniliquin, students participated in fun workshops led by talented educators. They got to try their hands at various art forms, from singing and dancing to acting. The friendly atmosphere encouraged them to express themselves and develop new skills.
We want to say a big thank you to the Pulse team and the staff at MPS for all their hard work in making this event happen. Their dedication to providing great learning experiences for our students is truly appreciated.
We would also like to thank the Mulwala Water Ski Club for their generous grant, which helped cover the bus costs for our students. Their support made it possible for many to join in on this wonderful opportunity.
Pulse Deniliquin was a celebration of creativity and learning. We look forward to participating again in 2026.
We proudly acknowledge our students who uphold our Jarmbie value of being active citizens. Their enthusiastic participation in community events not only enhances their personal growth but also strengthens our local community.
