COVID 19 Advice
Students and staff should stay home when sick. Students, staff and visitors should only attend school when feeling well and symptom-free. Follow NSW Health advice on Testing and what to do if you have COVID-19
Parents and carers of children with persistent or ongoing COVID-19 symptom should discuss these with their local health care professional. These symptoms may be related to other illnesses (such as allergies or hay fever) and benefit from treatment and management by a doctor.
From the start of 2024, rapid antigen tests (RAT) are no longer available free of charge to schools. NSW Health recommend Testing for COVID-19 if you have symptoms and are at higher risk of serious illness.

On 13 June Charlie, Layla, Milla and Nancy went to Gundagai with Layla's mum to do Riverina cross country. When we got to Gundagai we were given Finley zone socks to run in. At 10 o'clock we all walked the track. When we got back the first race had started and then after the first race it was Charlie's. When Charlie was at the finish line we cheered him on and he did very well and came 21st. Towards the end of the day it was Milla's, Layla's and Nancy's race. We did great. We had to run 3 kms but Charlie only ran 2 km. When we got back they had a presentation and then we left. On the way home we got an ice cream from McDonald's and it was a very fun day but a very long drive home.
Thank You

Nancy and I went to Albury and we presented our Multicultural speeches about Welcome to Country. Some of the other speeches were about 26 January. We all had lots of fun and we all tried our best. There were 12 competitors.
Our impromptu choice topic was Tests. There were lots of people who had different intentions of what that meant for them. Some of them talked about maths tests and how they're boring, but some people talked about blood tests, Covid tests and to test yourself in many different ways.
The judges were very nice and gave us very good feedback on how we can make our speeches better in all different ways.
Thank you to all the parents who took the day off to take all the children to this event and thank you to all the people who organised the event and also Albury Public School.
There were lots of people coming to watch. Everyone did very well and congratulations to the people who made it on. Nancy and I were so nervous. I was the 4th speaker and Nancy was the 5th. We got afternoon tea. There was lots of fruit and cake. Thank you to the school canteen for making us that delicious food. By the end it went for about three hours.
Thankyou
Nevaeh
AUSIE AUSIE AUSIE, OI OI OI. This phrase was used by one of the many competitors as an opening line, this caught me off guard a bit but it drew my attention towards her speech. Because her speech started off with a pop! She won most favourable.
Although Nevaeh and I didn't win anything, we got good feedback for our speeches, and managed to create an impromptu speech. The topic was Tests but lots of kids including myself struggled to think during it. Once I had sat down (after I had already spoken) to listen to the other kids' speeches, more ideas kept popping into my mind. That could have been useful when I was writing it!
But in the end one of my friends Freya Ray won the speech competition. Her speech wowed the judges and she spoke well with confidence! This experience was amazing even though when I got up on stage my legs felt like jelly. It was kinda cool that everyone was listening to me.
Thank You
Nancy
At the multicultural public speaking we met nice people from different classes. Most of the kids were speaking about racism or racism stops with you.
Some for them had funny intentions in their speech which got the audience’s attention.
I was pretty nervous but I felt bold on the stage.
In the impromptu speech my topic was Taking a Risk .I only got five minutes to write about it. Only one person made it to the next level.
I was so glad they had food! We had five minutes to eat.
Aaisha and I got a photo near the stage. When they were about to announce the winner Aaisha and I were holding hands together super tight.
But seriously the experience was amazing and I am so grateful we were there. So thank you to Albury Public School for this experience.

I was very scared and most of the kids were really good and I was getting so nervous. I was so nervous that I started to bite my lip. But when i got on stage… I was still nervous but I just read my speech.
After we had the food they gave us. I couldn't stop talking to Sadie about how scared I was. When the man took us away to do our impromptu speech I was way more nervous than before. A part of my nervousness was because I didn't have my mum to comfort me. But when I was writing I was four minutes in and I only wrote on one little square card and when the timer went off I wrote one word on another card so I didn’t use it. I wish I did so I would remember what I was going to say because I forgot and I was standing on stage saying ‘But that's not what taking risk is ahhhhmmmmmm blabla.’
But that experience taught me to think about the subject for a second then say whatever comes to mind instead of talking gibberish. I am so thankful I could be there.

A big thank you to the P&C for providing an extra jumper to the Year 6 students.
Thurgoon have been working very hard this term to create sculptures using wire and mod rock plaster. They designed their sculptures using inspiration from their English text, 'Backyard Footy'.
In measurement and geometry, Mulyan have been constructing three-dimensional objects and labeling their properties. Students have learned to use the words "faces", "edges" and "vertex".
Lunch orders are available from Sweet and Sour Sisters Tuesday-Thursday.
