For the Finley Zone swimming carnival we had to go to Cobram . We thank all the parents for taking their children to this event and we also say a big thank you to Miss Sargeant for coming and supervising us. The students who came were Nevaeh, Zali, Nancy, Layla, Harper, Poppy and Mia. Congratulations to Nancy who got runner up Senior Girl champion and to all the people who made it onto Riverina. We had a lot of fun.
Yesterday I travelled down to Leeton to compete at the Riverina Swimming carnival. I enjoyed competing against others and cheering on my relay team. Layla, Nevaeh, Zali and I loved to compete and get into the water on a very hot day. I competed in freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and 100 freestyle. The day was very fun and I know when I got home I went straight to bed after a long day.

Last Friday our school did Clean Up Australia day. Nungara went to the lake to clean. Thurgoon went around the school and Goonie cleaned in the school grounds. When Nungara and Thurgoon had finished they said they found lots of rubbish.
Messages from Matt from Boys to the Bush.
This term, students are completing a unit of learning all about drawing and painting. The focus for the term is 'People and Other Living Things', like plants and animals.
Goonie students have enjoyed exploring the art room and the different materials we have in there to create artworks. Students have created family portraits to represent who is in their family and experimented with coloured pencils and watercolour paints.
Thurgoon students have been developing their ability to view artworks and comment on what they see. They learnt that emotions can be conveyed through colour and shapes.
Nungara students have been annotating artworks by famous artists and expressing their opinions on them. They have also been sketching self-portraits.
Most recently, all students have been looking at artwork by Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian. Their artworks focus on the use of shapes and colours. Students had to create an artwork that was inspired by one of these artists, by using shapes and primary colours. They could do a person or other living thing.
The SRC have commenced a number of initiatives this term.

Collecting containers for Return and Earn. These include cans, bottles, juice box. Any container that has the 10c label. Families are welcome to send in their containers from home.
Selling icy poles each Friday at lunch time for 50c.
Keisha has anaphylaxis to many foods, including nuts. The school asks that students do not bring foods that contain nuts to school. If they do, they need to sit away from Keisha. All students are expected to wash their hands before and after eating.
