Dear parents and carers
School Bytes
Communication from the school (newsletters, class newsletters, permission notes etc) to parents is sent via School Bytes. Parents can turn notifications on the mobile app. This will ensure you do not miss any important information, and your child does not miss out on any event. Schools must receive parental permission for any student to participate in an extra-curricular event.
Active Citizens
We encourage our students to be active citizens and celebrate their involvement with the community. Students are asked each Monday during jarmbie time to share their active citizenship activities, but sometimes activities are missed. Parents are invited to contact the teachers to share their child's activities.

This year’s inaugural whole school swimming carnival was a fantastic celebration of sport and friendship, with students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participating in a range of exciting events. The energy and enthusiasm displayed by our students made the day truly memorable.
The carnival featured competitive races, including the 50m and 25m swims, where students showcased their swimming skills and determination. It was inspiring to see so many children pushing themselves and striving for personal bests. The novelty events added an extra layer of fun, with students engaging in friendly competition.
One of the standout aspects of the day was the exceptional sportsmanship demonstrated by all participants. Students were not only focused on their own performances, but also supported their peers, celebrating each other’s achievements and encouraging those who were less confident.
A huge thank you to our dedicated staff who helped organise and run the event. Your support made this day possible and contributed to the positive atmosphere that was felt throughout the carnival.
Congratulations to all our swimmers for their outstanding participation! We look forward to next year’s carnival, where we hope to see even more students diving in and making a splash!
Congratulations to the age champions.

On Monday 10 February students in years 3 - 6 participated in the LSV’s Lifesaving Education Program. The program is an open water program that is an engaging, practical opportunity for students to learn about water safety. Our students travelled to the Yacht Club in Yarrawonga so that the experience was conducted in an open water environment similar to those they might visit with family and friends. Students learnt about the ever changing environment, the risks that are posed and how they respond in an emergency situation. Some of the various activities they participated in were Supervision: Never swim alone and Always swim with a friend, swim between the red and yellow flags, identify people who can help you (role of a lifeguard), read the safety signs & check the conditions, lifejacket safety, how to identify and avoid dangers, know what to do in an emergency situation and remember to be SunSmart. They also received a basic course in Everyday Lifesavers (CPR and basic emergency response). All of our students love participating in this program and enjoy attending each year. The change of venue this year made it even more enjoyable.
Zain, Xavier, Xander, Alex, Samuel, Maximus and Tyler participated in the first of a five days of program focussed on building better skills in community, engagement and respect. With Mrs Donoghue and Mr Boyer we travelled to Wangaratta to meet at the BTTB hub, the boys were introduced to the program and its mentors. The boys each received a shirt and cap to wear whilst participating.
We then visited the Wangaratta Fire Station where the boys had a quick tour of the complex before being set to work assisting the local firefighters to clean and vacuum the rescue truck. The boys were provided gloves and worked along trained firefighters in their daily tasks. After the truck was cleaned, and station gym vacuumed and mopped the truck pumps were tested and the boys got to use the powerful hose.
We returned to the BTTB hub and were treated to a lunch of sausages and rissoles from the bbq.
After lunch we took the bus to the Ambulance Victoria station to be introduced to the mechanics at the work shop. In addition to the ambulances in for service they had a snowmobile ambulance onsite. The boys took turns being winched up into the snow ambulance, ride the Skidoo and be stretchered into an ambulance.
The boys had the opportunity to meet and greet these community service members and learn about their daily life.
