Yarma (Welcome)
Welcome to Term 2
I would like to welcome all our jarmbies back for term 2. With Covid restrictions continuing to ease, the students will once again be able to participate in many extra-curricular activities.
Please keep up to date with the calendar and also with permission notes via School E News.
We welcomed two new jarmbies last week- Shelby in Year 3 and Anastasia in Year 6. We also welcome Miss Emmerson Vanderburg.
Future Jarmbie Information Session
An information session will be held for parents with children beginning school in 2022 on Wednesday 5 May at 6 pm. Please contact the school if you have a child starting school next year. Please pass this information on to other parents.
Parent-teacher interviews
Parents are invited to contact the teachers to book an interview at a convenient time for both of them. Please contact the teachers via Class Dojo.
Mothers Day stall
The SRC will be holding a Mothers Day stall on Friday 7 May at lunchtime. The students are invited to purchase gifts for their mums, grandmothers or anyone special in their lives. Gifts range from $1-$5.
Covid Guidelines
The NSW Department of Education has updated the guidelines for this year. They can be viewed here. Please note the following
parents are now able to enter the school grounds. However, they must enter via the office to sign-in appropriately.
Parents may now attend the school assemblies. Again they must enter via the office.
All students will be dismissed by the Erne St gate.
Students are requested to bring a water bottle to school each day.
Students are requested to supply an art smock and headphones/earbuds
If any student has the mildest flu-like symptoms they are to provide the school with evidence of a negative Covid test, or remain absent from school for 10 days. Students are not to return to school until all they are symptom-free. Students and staff must not attend school or work if they are unwell, even with the mildness of symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste, and loss of smell. Students need to be symptom free and a negative COVID-19 test result must be received and sighted by the school prior to their return to school. Students who do not undertake a COVID-19 test are not permitted to return to school for a 10 day period and they must be symptom free for at least 3 days prior to their return. Students who have seasonal allergic rhinitis or another condition that presents similarly to flu-like symptoms are still required to get tested for COVID-19 and return a negative test result. Where their symptoms continue beyond 10 days, students should provide documentation from their GP confirming their symptoms are typical for their condition.

We have had a busy start to Term 2 in Nungara classroom! During the first Measurement and Geometry learning experience students were learning about the benefits of collecting data and creating surveys to find out more information about our peers.
Students created their own surveys, collected, displayed and analysed their data to help find out the interests of their peers. This information will be shared with SRC for planning of extra-curricular activities and equipment purchases.
Term 2 assemblies will be presented by Year 3 and 4 (Stage 2) students.
Last Thursday Mr Dennis Causby from the RSL spoke to the students about his involvement with the army and the Vietnam War. The students are to be commended on the insightful and considered questions they asked Mr Causby.
Thank you to all the students and staff who represented Mulwala Public School at the local Anzac Day service on Sunday.
On the 23rd of April all Mulwala Public School students participated in the small schools cross country at Jerilderie Public School. It was great fun. Students had either a 2 or 3km run and they all did their best. The track was very fun and included running over bridges, along dirt tracks and for some around a lake. Everyone was very supportive for our school and others. Congratulations to the people who made it to the Finley Zone Cross Country. It will be held at Gorman's Park in our very own town - Mulwala. Also a big thank you to all the staff and parents that came along and helped out.
