Colour Fun Run
The school is organising a Colour Fun Run which will be held this Friday 19 March. All monies raised will go towards funding the cost of buses for excursions. Students are invited to wear a white t-shirt to school for the event. Students MUST have an online account created in order to order any prizes. Cash donations must also be entered into the online account so that the school has a record of an amount that needs to be brought into the office. Please refer to the information sent out via eNews (copy in this newsletter) for the organisation of the event. Please contact the school if you DO NOT want your child to participate in the fun run.
Parents are welcome to attend, but must adhere to the Covid Safe Guidleines.
P&C AGM
The Mulwala Public School P&C have raised significant funds over the years to support the learning and opportunities of all students. This has included payment of buses for excursions, Reading by the Lake and new interactive panels in the classrooms. Please consider joining the P&C to assist in supporting the students.
The P&C will be holding their Annual General Meeting tonight, Tuesday 16 March at 6 pm in the school library, followed by a general meeting. Children are welcome
Student Allergies
I ask that parents do not pack nut products in their child's lunch as Keisha (Year 1) has anaphylaxis to nuts.
NAPLAN Practise Tests
Year 3 and 5 will participate in an online practise NAPLAN test on Tuesday 23 March which will involve reading, maths, language and spelling. Year 5 will participate in an online practice writing test on Thursday 25 March.
Covid Guidelines
The NSW Department of Education has updated the guidelines for this year. They can be viewed here. Please note the following
parents are now able to enter the school grounds. However, they must enter via the office to sign-in appropriately.
Parents may now attend the school assemblies. Again they must enter via the office.
All students will be dismissed by the Erne St gate.
Students are requested to bring a water bottle to school each day.
Students are requested to supply an art smock and headphones/earbuds
If any student has the mildest flu-like symptoms they are to provide the school with evidence of a negative Covid test, or remain absent from school for 10 days. Students are not to return to school until all they are symptom-free. Students and staff must not attend school or work if they are unwell, even with the mildness of symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of taste, and loss of smell. Students need to be symptom free and a negative COVID-19 test result must be received and sighted by the school prior to their return to school. Students who do not undertake a COVID-19 test are not permitted to return to school for a 10 day period and they must be symptom free for at least 3 days prior to their return. Students who have seasonal allergic rhinitis or another condition that presents similarly to flu-like symptoms are still required to get tested for COVID-19 and return a negative test result. Where their symptoms continue beyond 10 days, students should provide documentation from their GP confirming their symptoms are typical for their condition.
