Yarma (Welcome)
Dear parents and carers
As we reach the end of Term 1, I am filled with pride reflecting on the wonderful experiences and achievements our school community has shared over the past few weeks. This term has been vibrant and full of engaging activities that have fostered learning, teamwork, and respect among our students.
One of the standout events was our whole school swimming carnival, where students from K-6 displayed their skills in the pool. It was wonderful to see everyone participating with such enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all our swimmers, and a special shout-out to our relay team who represented us at the Riverina Swimming Carnival.
In addition to our swimming events, we were thrilled to participate in Boys to the Bush, an initiative aimed at providing boys with positive experiences and mentorship opportunities. This program has had a significant impact on our students, reinforcing the importance of community and personal growth.
Our commitment to fostering active citizenship was evident during Clean Up Day, where students took part in keeping our school and local environment clean. It was inspiring to see so many of our students taking responsibility and showing pride in their surroundings.
Harmony Day was another highlight this term, where we celebrated Australia's cultural diversity and promoted respect and inclusion. Activities throughout the day allowed students to learn about different cultures and the importance of embracing our differences.
We also had the pleasure of hosting the CWA International Day, focusing on the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. Students engaged in activities that showcased Sri Lankan culture, enhancing their understanding of global perspectives and fostering appreciation for Australia's multicultural community.
Tomorrow, we welcome Mulwala Preschool to our annual Easter Hat Parade. All students will create their hats at school and proudly display them at the parade at 12:30 pm.
We will conclude the term with the Colour Fun Run, raising funds for our playground. We warmly invite parents to attend and support our students as they participate in this exciting event.
As we conclude this term, I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our enthusiastic students for making this term successful and memorable. I encourage everyone to take the time to rest and recharge over the break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 2. Students return to school on Thursday 24 April.
Anzac Day
The students are invited to represent the school at the Anzac Day march and service on Friday 25 April. The students are to meet in front of the Mulwala Bakery in their school uniform at 9:15 am.

On Friday 21 March we celebrated Harmony Day with the theme “Everyone Belongs.”
It was a day to come together, embrace diversity, and reflect on the importance of inclusivity and respect.
We were lucky with the weather and had lunch at the lake followed by a play.
Last Wednesday the students participated in our Sri Lanka Cultural Day. This is the country of study for the NSW CWA. During our cultural day the students participated in sports with Mrs Rosmulder. They played cricket which is a national sport. Sri Lanka’s national flower is the Water Lily so Mr Southam taught students the art of origami. Mr Boyer taught the students many different facts about Sri Lanka which came in handy for the afternoon activity of a whole school scoot and general knowledge of Sri Lanka facts.
Thank you you the families who donated food to the Moira Foodshare for our SRC Crazy Hair Day.
Tomorrow we will hold our annual Easter Hat Parade, with the Mulwala Pre-School joining us for the celebration. All students will design and create their hats at school. Parents and families are warmly invited to join us for the parade at 12:30 PM.
We are holding School Fun Run’s Crazy Colour Day again this year. We will be raising much needed funds in the lead up to our event for new playground equipment / furniture with a target of $2000 so we’re asking all families to pitch in!
We are super excited to announce that we will be holding our event on Friday 4 April at 2pm on the school oval. Parents and families are invited to attend.
Students are encouraged to wear a while t-shirt, and old clothes o school, and dye will be used during th run. They will also.
