Cold Weather
I encourage all students to wear a jumper at school during this cold weather. Students are reminded to put their jumpers in their bags once they take them off. Please ensure all jumpers are labelled with your child's name.
End of Term 2
Term 2 ends on Friday 1 July. Term 3 commences for students on Tuesday 19 July. Monday 18 July is a pupil-free day. The staff will be participating in professional learning at school.
Bringing toys to school
We ask students not to bring toys and other belongings to school. This is to prevent belongings from becoming damaged or lost and to reduce the chance of students being distracted during learning time. The school has ample equipment for students to use during break times.
Updated Covid Information
The recent announcement to the changes in how schools use RATs as a surveillance measure against COVID-19 means that students and staff will only need to test if they are displaying COVID-19 symptoms. If you require more RAT kits please contact the school.
Our school will continue to ensure our core COVID-smart layers are in place, including vaccinations, physical distancing where possible, maximised fresh air flow through natural ventilation, continued good hand hygiene practices and enhanced cleaning.
If a student or staff member receives a positive RAT result, they need to:
record the positive RAT result through the Service NSW website or Service NSW app and please include the name of your child’s school when prompted
notify the school of the positive RAT or PCR result as soon as possible
follow NSW Health advice to isolate for 7 days.
Registering your child’s positive RAT with Service NSW is a requirement of the Public Health Order and helps NSW Health track COVID-19 in schools and address any public health issues early on if required.
Negative results do not need to be reported to Service NSW or to the school.
Any student or staff member who is unwell and/or displays symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to go home and stay until they can complete a RAT or PCR test.
If symptoms continue, they should stay at home and take another RAT in 24 hours or have a PCR test.
If the second RAT or initial PCR test result is negative and they are displaying no symptoms OR they are diagnosed as another condition such as hayfever, the student or staff member can return to school.
In NSW, positive COVID-19 cases are provided a Medical Clearance Notice after 7 days and allowed to leave self-isolation as long as they do not have COVID-19 symptoms.
For further information refer to the NSW Government’s Rapid antigen testing fact sheetExternal link.
The announcement to ease the isolation requirements for close contacts was made on 20 April 2022. This will enable students and staff who are close contacts and have no symptoms to continue to attend school if they follow guidelines agreed with NSW Health.
Note that staff and students who have had confirmed COVID-19 in the last 12 weeks do not have to comply with the following guidelines if they become a household or close contact and are not required to self-isolate or test unless they develop new COVID-19 symptoms.
Close contacts attending school will need to adhere to the following in addition to the NSW Health guidelines
They must notify the school and/or early childhood education (ECE) service provider (including their outside of school hours care provider) if they are intending to return under this provision.
They should conduct a daily RAT and return a negative result each morning before attending school for 5 school days.
They (if in a secondary school setting) must wear a mask indoors except when eating or exercising. Primary school students are recommended to wear a mask indoors (except when eating or exercising).
No student or staff member identified as a close contact will be permitted to participate in overnight excursions, including school camps.
Thank you again for your continued support during this school term.

A focus in English this term has been determining keywords and phrases in the class texts. Students worked in small groups to record all the places that the family visited as they toured around Australia. This information was then collated into a large list and will be used for future reference to create a persuasive text in English.
We would like to congratulate the people that made it onto the Finley Zone cross country. Everyone did a great job and we know it was very hard but they pushed through.
We would also like to congratulate the students who made it on to the Riverina region cross country. They are Scarlett, Nancy and Isabel and we wish them good luck.
