A thank you from a community member
I want to take a moment to highlight the incredible actions of two of our outstanding school members, Michelle Rosmulder and Savannah. Recently, a community member experienced an emergency near our school, and their quick thinking and bravery made a significant difference.
Savannah promptly sought adult help when the situation arose, ensuring that the individual received the assistance they needed without delay. Thanks to her swift actions, Mrs. Rosmulder was able to step in and provide the necessary first aid in a calm and supportive manner.
The gratitude expressed by the community member is a testament to the kindness and compassion that both Michelle and Savannah demonstrate every day.
Thank you, Michelle and Savannah, for demonstrating the values of our school community.

Applications are now open for selective high school and opportunity class entry in 2026.
Selective high schools and opportunity classes are one of the ways that the department supports high potential and gifted students. These are students whose intellectual potential exceeds that of students of the same age.
You can apply for opportunity classes and selective high schools that are outside your local enrolment area.
Students sit a placement test and qualify for a place based on their results.
Students get to learn together with classmates who have similar abilities. This allows their teachers to use special teaching methods to move students through the curriculum at a faster pace and in more depth.
When learning alongside other high potential and gifted classmates, students benefit both academically and socially. Students tell us that they love learning with other students who also enjoy asking questions, delving deep into topics and being challenged academically.
Selective high schools and opportunity classes also offer a broad range of co-curricular activities such as sports, creative and performing arts, music and special interest clubs.

COVID 19 Advice
Students and staff should stay home when sick. Students, staff and visitors should only attend school when feeling well and symptom-free. Follow NSW Health advice on Testing and what to do if you have COVID-19
Parents and carers of children with persistent or ongoing COVID-19 symptom should discuss these with their local health care professional. These symptoms may be related to other illnesses (such as allergies or hay fever) and benefit from treatment and management by a doctor.
From the start of 2024, rapid antigen tests (RAT) are no longer available free of charge to schools. NSW Health recommend Testing for COVID-19 if you have symptoms and are at higher risk of serious illness.

Recently our students had the opportunity learn from the Beach to Bush Surf Lifesavers.
The Beach to Bush program aims to educate students about the potential hazards at the beach and equip them with the skills and knowledge to make safe choices when swimming and surfing. Our students engaged in fun, interactive sessions, learning about rip currents, sun safety, and the vital role of surf lifesavers in keeping our beaches safe.
Yesterday our school community gathered to observe Remembrance Day at ClubMulwala. This significant occasion provided us with the opportunity to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country in times of conflict and peace.
I am incredibly proud of our students, who demonstrated immense respect and reverence throughout the ceremony. Their behaviour was exemplary as they participated in the observance, and demonstrating the values that we strive to instil within our school community.
The highlight of our ceremony was the singing of the National Anthem, which resonated beautifully in the hearts of all who attended. Our students not only sang with pride but also included Auslan signing. This inclusion was a wonderful demonstration of our commitment to diversity and accessibility within our school environment.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the staff who helped coordinate this event and to ClubMulwala for hosting us in such a respectful manner. Together, we honour the legacy of those who have served and continue to serve our nation.
A big thank you to Corowa High School for providing a high school experience for our students. The Year 4 student participated in a variety of activities including sport, visual art and maths.
