Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).
Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:
· year of schooling
· category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
· level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.
This information assists schools to:
· formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
· consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
· develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.
The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.
The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (https://www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy).
Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (https://www.nccd.edu.au).
If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact the school.
Communication with staff
At Mulwala Public School, we believe that open communication between parents and staff is essential for the success of our students. We wholeheartedly welcome your questions, feedback, and concerns, as they play a vital role in our collaborative efforts to support your child's education.
We understand that you may wish to discuss matters directly with your child's teacher. However, we kindly ask for your understanding that teachers have various responsibilities both before and after school hours. To ensure that we can dedicate the necessary time and attention to your inquiries, we encourage you to make an appointment for face-to-face meetings with teachers. This helps us provide a focused and productive discussion regarding your child's progress and any concerns you may have.
For your convenience, we also invite you to communicate with us via Class Dojo or through our school email at mulwala-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au. These platforms allow for efficient communication and ensure that your messages are received and addressed in a timely manner.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Together, we can create a nurturing and supportive environment for our students to thrive.
Digital Device Policy
Teachers use a variety of digital devices and online services to enhance the learning of students. These include desk-top computers, Chromebooks and iPads. The students are restricted to using the devices in class time under teacher supervision.
Students may not bring a mobile device to school (including laptops, tablets, wearable technology, such as smartwatches and headphones). If bought to school, the device must be stored in the office, and be collected at the end of the day.
Mobile devices are not to be taken on excursions or extra-curricular activities.
Please read the school's Mobile Device Policy here.

On Sunday Lylah and Amelia represented our school at the Yarrawonga Lions Club Junior Public Speaking Competition. The Lions Club Junior Public Speaking Competition provides an invaluable opportunity for students to develop their communication skills, boost their confidence, and express their ideas on important topics. This annual event encourages young speakers to articulate their thoughts and engage with their peers in a supportive environment.
