COVID 19 Advice
Students and staff should stay home when sick. Students, staff and visitors should only attend school when feeling well and symptom-free. Follow NSW Health advice on Testing and what to do if you have COVID-19
Parents and carers of children with persistent or ongoing COVID-19 symptom should discuss these with their local health care professional. These symptoms may be related to other illnesses (such as allergies or hay fever) and benefit from treatment and management by a doctor.
From the start of 2024, rapid antigen tests (RAT) are no longer available free of charge to schools. NSW Health recommend Testing for COVID-19 if you have symptoms and are at higher risk of serious illness.

One cold winter morning my dad and I travelled to Wagga Wagga. When we got there we were put into teams. Luckily I knew most of my team and the people I didn't know I got to know well. The lovely people running this event had high expectations and if we didn't manage to show them what they wanted they would politely say that you didn't get in. During the games I mainly played defence and a bit of centre. The most important thing about this experience was that I learnt new things and made new friends.

We had Musica Viva on Wednesday 22 May. We went into Thurgoon and we all listened to the amazing music by Wyniss.
Then they showed us how to use string to make spears and other stuff. We also played some games. They had lots of different instruments. One of them was made out of bamboo and one was made out of hollow wood. They used goanna skin to make the drum. Some people got to go up onto the stage with them and play games with them. It was a lot of fun. Then we had to say goodbye.

On the 22 May Mrs Rosmulder read a book called Bowerbird Blues. The book was amazing. We all loved it. The book was about a bird that loves blue things. He loved the blue things because he was trying to get a girlfriend and at the end of the book he was dancing in the air.
After we listened to the story we had a choice of doing a treasure hunt or a drawing. Most of us did a treasure hunt.

Learning with Mrs Rosmulder
During the first few weeks of term Thurgoon students have been learning how to create their haiku poems. A haiku poem can be made of complete sentences or jsut a fragment of partial thought. The first line needs to have 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables and the last line 5 syllables. All students have successfully created several poems each about our changing seasons. A few students were even able to apply their Bpangerang knowledge of seasons and use Bpangerang words within the haiku poems.
Assemblies are held at school on alternate Fridays commencing at 2 pm. All students have a turn of presenting class reports, sharing learning and presenting the assembly. Everyone is invited to attend.
The SRC have commenced a number of initiatives this term.
Lunch orders are available from Sweet and Sour Sisters Tuesday-Thursday.
Download the Qkr! app
It is a requirement of the P&C association that all members complete a Declaration for Child Related Workers. The completed form needs to be returned to the school office.
A big thank you to White Door Living for their very generous dontations for the SRC Mothers Day stall.
