A broad range of excursions are eligible, including excursions, incursions, camps, and travel to and from sporting and other extra-curricular activities. The kindergarten students have settled into big school and are doing some amazing learning.
Last Friday we held our swimming carnival. We got to get lunch in the lunch pack. We got a sausage, cup cake, and juice. We have to thank the P&C for organising the lunch.
We were able to swim in as many events as we wanted to. There were 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke , 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 200m individual medley, 25m events and the novelty events.
The champions were:
Junior boy- Harley
11 years girl- Nancy
Senior boy- Finn
Senior girl- Natalie
The winning house was Hume. The Captains for Hume were Scarlett and Nevaeh and they got to hold the trophy.
While the big kids were at the swimming carnival the little kids had a water fun day at school with hoses, sprinklers and sponges. It was lots of fun.

Students in Thurgoon have been studying characters and how authors have the ability to make readers like or dislike characters by giving them different personalities. Students had to choose a familiar character from a known story and decided if they were a nice or mean character in the story. They then had to list the personality traits of the character.
During Term 1, the school is focusing on teaching diversity, inclusivity and acceptance. This coincides with WorldPride 2023 in Sydney. All teaching and learning activities are age appropriate and align with the NSW syllabuses and content.
The following poster is being used to assist in teaching inclusivity at our school.
