Student stack cups on desk.
The visible cup non-verbally cues to the teacher what they need.
Red- Completely stuck (need help immediately)
Yellow- Confused on something but can come back when teacher is available.
Green- Good to go
The system provides immediate feedback during independent and group work.
The teacher circulates to students with red and yellow cups.

Proactive Implementation
Proactively implementing the stoplight cup feedback strategy may look like teaching students how to use the system in order to gain feedback or support. The system should be practiced.
Responsive Implementation
Responsively implementing the stoplight feedback strategy may stem from a need for productive struggle among students. Understanding and balancing challenge in their work and signaling when to seek help.
Connection
If the need is connection then the student may use the strategy to signal to a peer for additional guidance or support.
Skills Training
If the need is skill building then the student may use the system during a specific time or practice getting feedback.
Awareness
If the need is awareness then the student may need to be prompted or count the number of times that support is sought after.
Emotional Regulation
If the need is regulation then the student may use the system when dysregulated to signal the amount the level of dysregulation.
