Overview
Is a type of circle.
All students gather in a circle with chairs facing inward.
No barriers in between.
Do not have a fixed order and allow students to respond directly to one another as frequently as they care to.

Proactive Implementation
Proactively introducing non-sequential circles should come after sequential circles have been established. Students should be familiar with the circle process prior to being able to move the conversation to anyone in the circle.
Responsive Implementation
Responsively introducing non-sequential circles requires the background in understanding the platform. Students should be introduced to this wrinkle when there is not a conflict and all students are regulated.
Connection
If the need is connection then students may be asked to introduce their own talking piece to be used, sharing why it was chosen.
Skills Training
If the need is skill building then the non-sequential circle may be used to solve academic problems or build upon concepts.
Awareness
If the need is awareness then an emphasis on listening to others about their perspective is crucial.
Emotional Regulation
If the need is regulation then students may combine the non-sequential circle with a regulation/coping skill of the day where they must practice or reflect on the use of the skill before sharing.
