Pocket Points can be a class wide incentive based program for cellphone use.
The teacher uses the cellphone policy to discuss with students what they would like to earn for limited use of cellphones.
The teacher & students utilize an app on their phone that tracks successful time it removes off and not viewed.
Rewards can be motivational, class wide, or prizes.

Proactively implementing Pocket Points starts with conversation with your class about the program and the expectations you co-author with its use.
Responsive Implementation
Responsively implementing Pocket Points may stem from students overuse or inappropriate use of technology. Students should be active participants in the design of implementation.
Connection
If the need is connection then the incentive system used within the program should be community based over individual.
Skills Training
If the need is skill building then the students should practice keeping their phone or technology usage away.
Awareness
If the need is awareness then students may be prompted or notified through the program of the amount of time they have not used their device.
Emotional Regulation
If the need is regulation then substitute coping strategies must be practiced and offered for when students need a break or feel the urge to use their device.
