Using implementation Intention...
Creates clear guidelines and goals
Provides a pathway to reaching goals.
Allows the mind to process possible barriers and how to navigate them.
Overview
Broadly speaking, the format for creating an implementation intention is: "When situation X arises, I will perform response Y."
Implementation intentions are effective for sticking to our goals.
Writing exact time and date, etc
They increase the odds that people will stick with habits like recycling, studying, going to sleep early, and stopping smoking.
People who make a specific plan for when and where they will perform a new habit are more likely to follow through. Too many people try to change their habits without these basic details figured out.
Once an implementation intention has been set, you don't have to wait for inspiration to strike. When the moment of action occurs, there is no need to make a decision. Simply follow your predetermined plan.
The simple way to apply this strategy to your habits is to fill out this sentence: I will [BEHAVIOR] at [TIME] in [LOCATION].
Core Components
The simple way to apply this strategy to your habits is to fill out this sentence: I will [BEHAVIOR] at [TIME] in [LOCATION].
Being specific about what you want and how you will achieve it helps you say no to things that derail progress,, distract your attention, and pull you off course.
Give your habits a time and a space to live in the world. The goal is to make the time and location so obvious that, with enough repetition, you get an urge to do the right thing at the right tie.=, even if you can't say why.
Proactive Implementation
Proactively implementing "implementation intention" may look like providing the template for all students to practice accomplish a set goal and thinking through potential barriers that may arise.
Responsive Implementation
Responsively implementing "implementation intention" may stem from a need where a student, group, or class have been unable to transfer a specific skill or knowledge. Teaching the student(s) to use the template in these scenarios may allow them to think through outcomes.
Connection
If the need is connection then a student may use the implementation intention strategy in support of group brainstorming. Students can work together to generate possible outcomes.
Skills Training
If the need is skill building then the students may pick a specific skill to use implementation intention to walk through the potential roadblocks they may encounter and what they can do in response.
Awareness
If the need is awareness then generating multiple possible issues that may arise allows the student to think through more than they may be aware of that could occur.
Emotional Regulation
If the need is regulation then the responses created may be dependent of different ways to use a specific coping or regulation strategy.

Make a note to document when you're starting this intervention.
After 10 consecutive school days of implementation, use collected data to determine the intervention's effectiveness.
