Introduction
Here are my Safari settings. See also: Browser Settings, Browser Add-On Settings, Programs, Operating Systems.
Open a New Tab So That You Can't Get Backwards By Accident (Safari 9)
Close all tabs. File, Open Location. Choose a bookmark or copy-paste a URL.
Safari 9 (OS X 10.11)
Preferences
General
Safari opens with: [A new window]
New windows open with: [Homepage]
New tabs open with: [Favorites] (I use Safari for entertainment, so Favorites works faster for me.)
