Introduction
Here are some network devices (modem, router, switch, splitter, filter, etc.) I have used. See also: Networking Device Settings, Mobile Sticks, Internet Service Provider Settings, Cables and Adapters.
Gigabit Ethernet. 1000BASE-T or IEEE 802.3ab are standards for Gigabit Ethernet over copper wiring. Use cables CAT5 or CAT6.
ASUS DSL-N55U Dual-Band Wireless-N600 ADSL2+
Description: modem/router. LAN and wireless.
Comment: works better than the ZyXEL modems when I have a bad connection.

Description: router (no RJ11) with Access Point functionality. LAN and wireless. IPv4.
D-Link DES-1005D: 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch
Description: switch (no RJ11, no RJ45). Five 10/100 Mbps ports.

Description: ADSL2+ / VDSL2 modem. LAN and wireless.
1 port: 10/100/1000 Mbps.
3 ports: 10/100 Mbps.

Comment: uses Mini HTTPD (mini_httpd) software by Jef Poskanzer from ACME Laboratories.
Description: Integrated Access Device (IAD): this device is a modem and a router, and you can also make VoIP calls with traditional analog telephones connected to this device.
