Operating System Installation Settings

Introduction

Here are some of my operating system (OS) installation settings. Please note that links get outdated fast on the Web and these URLs are just real life examples demonstrating how they look like when looking for the appropriate disc image or other location and I'm not going to update them. I like having two operating systems with Windows computers (Windows and Linux) and with Apple computers the Mac OS X is enough for me. When Windows XP was still supported (support ended April 8th, 2014), first I installed Windows to the whole hard disk and then I used Linux installation to partition the hard disk for both operating systems. With Windows 7 I leave hard disk space for Linux. With Windows XP I installed all available language packs as I like to see all foreign characters correctly when I'm surfing the Web (Windows 7 has additional interface language packs, don't install them).
